Quoted from Bmanpin:

Pinball Place from Glen in New Ulm MN

Great folks over there, I ordered my Pro from Glen on Wednesday. Now just patiently awaiting an October delivery

#442 2 years ago
Quoted from Bmanpin:

Take my money! I’d like one when ready!

I'll second that! These look great. Hell, I'd be down for one in the rough and do the finish work myself. Save you some time on paint.

Quoted from JPloof:

Started installing a full set of titan rubbers into my pro. The rubber under grogu has me a bit perplexed, I can’t figure out how to get him out to get to that rubber. Don’t see any screws holding him down, so I’m a bit stuck on how to get him out to get to this rubber. Didn’t see anything in the manual either on removal. Has anyone figured out how to get to this rubber yet?

Can you post some pictures when you have him removed. I'm curious as to how much space is behind him as well as how he mounts.

#536 2 years ago
Quoted from Clytor:

A friend of mine had the same issue on his pro.
[quoted image]

This is an issue that's come up for a number of owners, sounds like a design flaw or it may just be that those guides are just too tight from the factory. Seems like it needs a little wiggle room, adding a rubber grommet between the ramp and guide might be a simple fix.
It obviously won't fix an already broken ramp but might help as a preventative right out of the box.

Nice-looking ride oh, where did you get the backlit speaker covers?

Quoted from PismoArcade:

Second run of pros are shipping!
Just got word that mine is shipping today!!!

I saw this post this morning and swore I wouldn't bother my distributor because my Pro isn't due until October. So... After I bothered him he told me they don't know until Stern ships them out what's coming to them , don't hold my breath. Just got a call from them this evening and my mando is here. Will be taking delivery Monday. Mando Monday! Happy dance! :party:my first NIB

#799 2 years ago
Quoted from PismoArcade:

Awesome news...Congrats!
Mine will be here Tuesday.

Life is good! This will be the longest weekend ever.

#825 2 years ago

Well it's official, I joined the club Sunday evening at 6:45. Mando Pro, my 1st NIB game! I'm happy to say it looks like Stern has addressed some of the issues on this run. They have added a metal retainer clip to keep the LED spot in place, it also looks like they've added a couple more weld spots to the diverter. Also they may have tweaked it as I have not had a single kick back from that diverter in over 60 plays without adding any foam or adjusting the flipper power. Still no washer under that guide however. It's shipped with the 9.7 code and is performing flawlessly! This is the way! Also, I added my first mod this morning, shout out to Andy at Rocket City pinball, his 3D prints are exceptional. I also had him print a set of the Detonator caps for over the red domes which I will have to paint before install. More mods on the way, including metal rails, speaker cover art and the trooper Kabob mod. I took the day off work today and honestly I may never return!

Nice set up…
Looks familiar?
On your latest Mandalorian machine did Stern do anything to protect the ramp near the Carl Weathers plastic? Pics of the ramp protector and placement would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for any response.
[quoted image]

Here are some pics of the ramp entrance, not sure if they've made any improvements with out anything to compare them to. They don't seem too loose, or too tight. No cracks in the ramp yet so....

Installed the wire rails from Loganpinball last night. What a game changer. I am also working on the finish work for the Detonator Dome covers. The one on the right in picture(still needs paint)had to be dremeled out on the bottom a little bit to account for the new wire guide. I also added the speaker cover magnetic artwork. It's been less than a week and I know I'm still in the honeymoon phase but... I am loving this game!

That looks really nice, although I would have gone with a different topper. in all seriousness where did you pick up the chrome trim?

Quoted from Gambeno:

Haven't looked up the rules, but to get 3x and higher multipliers do you just have to hit a scope shot? Or is it Ambush? I know from playing, the Boba Fett gives you 2X. Still trying to figure out how I get a higher multiplier. Fun game overall. Really having a blast playing.

Going from memory here so... a little fuzzy, but it seems to me that there's a 3X reward that comes up in the child bonus if it rolls through the correct Lane.

Had the opportunity last night to add some paint and then install the Detonator covers. I'm digging this mod!

Looking to add a shaker motor when mine comes later this week. Are there still aftermarket ones available that would work for this machine? I added one to an Avengers several months ago but I feel like I'm not seeing them now.

Pin shaker has them for around $200 or you can get one from Stern Direct for a hundred. Stearns is a 5-minute installation and works just fine. I put one in my Pro and I'm digging it!

Quoted from Ponzie:

Am I going crazy or are the team play modes not yet coded?
Tried to play 2v1 with my kids tonight and only Player 1 was able to play all 5 of their balls...
Tested 2v2 and same thing...
Cooperative mode and monster mode work fine though...
Did a search through the forum first but couldn't find anyone with the same issue.
Running 0.97 code.
(I have some pics and video to send Stern if they need it but if this was already a known thing, I wouldn't waste Dwight's time!)
[quoted image]

Quoted from chickenscratch:

What should a normal plunge be looking like, should it be hitting something half way up the orbit (haven’t checked it out yet, we have the room dark and really letting the family get all their plays; I’ve only played once); and what’s the skill shot, is it just the child rollovers?

Hold the left flipper while plunging the ball until after it cleared the rollovers and then follow the blue arrow shots to advance the skill shot. Have fun

Hey all, I bought the pro version a couple weeks ago (my very first pin). Just wondering if anyone with a pro has purchased the rifle armor? I was wondering how much of the artwork on the sides of the cabinet get covered?

I've been wondering this too, purchased the side armor but I've yet to hear boo from Stern as to when it will show up. has anyone received these?

I caved, couldn't wait for stern to come out with an overpriced topper so I ordered my own. Sideshow collectibles 1/6 scale speeder bike with trooper and child! Good news bad news
Good news... I love the scale detail and proportions, it's a work in progress as I have an ig-11 on order to replace the scout trooper.
Bad news... The figure shipped with a missing part, so no foot pedals on the rear of the speeder. Shipper will make it right, so back in the box for this one, what's one more delay.

Okay, I give up... What am I doing wrong? I'm trying to upgrade my Mando pro to the new code and just can't get it to do it. I have downloaded the files from Stern onto a USB stick. The files are unzipped on the stick but the machine does not acknowledge anything different when it boots. I am currently using the port at cn9 but I've tried others as well. I have tried reloading the files from Stern but still nothing. Short of just banging on the monitor I'm not sure what else to do. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

#2302 2 years ago
Quoted from GoodOmens:

What size USB? Two Files in the root of the stick (not in a folder)? USB stick formatted to FAT32?

128 gb on micro SD inserted in USB stick. I'm not sure if it's formatted to FAT32, just assumed it was. How can I check, how would I know, how do I format the SD card. Did I mention I'm old and I hate this shit. There are two files on the stick not in a folder.

Okay, the internet gods have showed me how to format a disc properly. Will try that and retry the upgrade.

#2305 2 years ago
Quoted from flynnibus:

Format the USB drive as 8 or 16gig using a PC and fat32. Copy the unzipped files to the drive, plug in USB, power cycle the game.
Formatting of the drive into a partition the platform recognizes is almost always the problem. Windows will do it cleanly w/o much error. OSX disk utilities have masked so much it's a pita to get reliable. diskpart or something would be advised if you didn't have a windows box available.
Really big partitions have also been a problem in the past. Partition to 8 or 16 and it will work w/o issue

Thanks for the input, will give that a try but probably not today. Wiring harness for the animated baby grogu just arrived in the mail that will take priority.

#2321 2 years ago

Yesterday was a very productive pinball day for me. I got the animated Yoda broke down, repainted and installed and couldn't be happier. Thanks for all the helpful tips from everyone in regards to my software update. Will tackle that today. More mods on the way. This is the way! Loving this game!

Code update was successful! Thanks again for all the help. I was all prepared to start bitching about foundry selecting but it turns out a quick double tap selects the items just fine. Great thread, great game, flippity flip flip...

Quoted from PoopsMagee:

Looks great man! What painting did you do? I installed him just stock and really love what he adds to the game overall, even if it is just random motion off the "C" insert.

I agree he does look fine right out of the box, however for me that is just not the way. Use the water base color wash to give him a little more tonal depth as well as airbrushing highlights around the cheeks and eyes and ears. Also added some shading to his robe .A subtle improvement imo. Try to add my own personal touch to any of the additions, even if it's a simple hot wheel toy or packaged action figure. Here's a shot of a recently repainted Razorcrest as well.

Quoted from J85M:

Yeah I debated getting Toms mod with his foundry but wanted something a little more detailed and in your face, as it was one of my favourite images from the show.
My plan is to maybe do one more and possibly a smashed helmet (Boba vs Troopers when he caves in a couple of troopers helmets/heads) for the back or left ramp return.

That helmet looks great! Love the detail! I decided to go with one of Tom's trooper-kabob mods.(still in the paint phase) I was hoping to find some specialty mods at expo but no real luck. Have a few more things on order, this machine has so much potential for additions. And a couple pics of my topper solution. Loving this game!

Quoted from J85M:

Thanks dude, I love Toms mod, just wanted something bigger and more in your face, I remember watching Mando for the first time and those trooper helmets on spikes where so cool.
I might ask Tom once he’s less busy if he could whip me up a one on a larger scale, until then these will do and they use the outlane holes as a mount so they are a 5second install.
Love that topper, is that a 1/6th scale hot toys IG11 with Grogu? I think they just released the Mando specific speeder bike which looks awesome!

That is the hot toys speeder bike , just recently released it came with the Yoda and pouch and scout trooper. The IG-11 is A separate Piece that fits perfectly on to the speeder bike. That was released end of October. Has LED lights in the head and chest plate as well. Only a matter of time before they're hardwired into the machine.

#2405 2 years ago
Quoted from J85M:

Those a lovely pieces, I collect hot toys so I am familiar with them but for some reason I had it in my head the speeder was a little dirtier. I am waiting on Mando Luke to add to my collection. I may add that smashed up Dark Trooper to my game somewhere.
Have you considered using a fusion reactor to connect the figures up to the game? You could maybe plug them into one of the USB ports, if it would power them it’s a 10second install and easily removable.

Fusion reactor, interesting, what is it exactly, who makes it, where can I get one?
I agree about the cleanliness of the speeder bike. It has a fair amount of weathering but could use more. This piece will eventually make it to the paint shop as well. These will probably only be up on the Mando machine for a year, waiting for hot toys release of Mando on the speeder bike with child. It's not a poseable figure, but a cast resin piece, highly detailed, but not available until quarter 3 next year.

Quoted from TinyBlackDog:

Watched the seminar last night as well and I loved the passion that Randy Martinez had for making this game. He said it was one of his best artistic experiences ever. I really like his style and hope he will do more pinball in the future - would like to see what he can do with something non-Star Wars.

Couldn't agree more about Randy's art style , very impressive. I had the opportunity to speak to him at expo a couple weeks ago and rest assured he will be doing more pinball. He's about to begin a new project for stern it should be out in 2022. He couldn't give any specific details except to say that it is in the works. Also also a genuinely good guy, and was kind enough to sign a couple of trading cards of his that I picked up at the show. My favorite now resides in my Mando pro. Looking forward to seeing more of his work.

Well let me be the first to say... I'm an idiot, just kidding I'm certainly not the first to say that. I've had my mando pro since the beginning of August and I just discovered yesterday challenge mode. Who knew? What an awesome feature. What a great way to get you dialed into specific shots not to mention the light show and animations. I can't believe I've been playing it this long and have just now stumbled upon this. This machine just keeps on giving and giving. What a great ride!

#2636 2 years ago
Quoted from PoopsMagee:

In your defense, it was just added with the last code update so you've only been missing out for <2 months. Super fun tho agreed!

Good to know, that makes me feel a little better, and considering I drug my feet on loading the code it's only been a month. Still...I think I technically qualify as an idiot. Who cares though, when the game is this fun! #Mandoforpresident2024

I couldn't be happier , my grandson can reach both flippers now. The rest is just practice practice practice.

#2678 2 years ago
Quoted from SlapDrain:

+1 for only seeing ambush when im intentionally going for it. I have 800+ plays on my machine. Im scoring an average of 300m per game and have hit 700m+ multiple times and not a single ambush organically.

I'm in about the same boat, and when I have achieved it after really working for it,the reward doesn't seem worth the effort. There are a lot of other shots that advance you through features and higher point yields.
Seems to me that if it was at the very least leading you towards an ambush multiball, or crazy high points in an ambush jackpot, one might be more inclined to focus on that shot.
That uturn and ramp are the most satisfying shots on the table for me, when they're incorporated into the super skill shot sequence. So... I guess I just don't feel like getting ambushed, give me a reason and I'll go there.

#2690 2 years ago
Quoted from Jesder:

In short - playfield multipliers. My scores have started going up a lot higher now that I'm focused on having 1 or 2 activate as often as possible.
I always look to stack a mission and a multiball together and bring in flame thrower (for 2X shots - since the mission and multiballs share shots, you're doubling points in those shots for both features). I also like to bring in amban rifle to extend multiball to try and maximise my opporunity with the super jackpot. You can always save your flamethrower for the super jackpot also, but I often don't.
I always want to have flame thrower and ambar rifle through for the mission / multiball stack.
My scores have started getting even higher now that I'm bringing in 2x and 3x playfield multipliers (I'd love to bring in all 3, but it's rare that I achieve that) - add that to the 2X shots (flame thrower) with a mission and multiball stacked for even bigger points. So I like to get a mission and a multiball ready - then I look to get scope (for the beskar and playfield multipler). Normally I'll have the playfield multiplier active for the Boba targets too. Then start the mission followed by multiball, followed by flame thrower - and you're away
Also before starting Razor Crest hurry up, I like to have 2X or 3X going on the playfield multiplier too, which can really help boost the value for each of the 3 shots. Especailly on the second hurry up. Just make sure you get those 3 shots in quick!
Another thing too is you don't need to hit the final shot of the mission straight away. You can to get a time bonus. But some missions will still have a lit shot with the timer active, so hitting them can milk more points before hitting the final shot to complete (again add in active playfield multipliers, and grab those points!).
Also don't forget combo shots in missions - this was a nice addition by Dwight in the last update.
There are times too where I don't even bother playing for total points and instead of stacking modes, simply play each mission and multiball on its own - looking to see how I can best score in them. Especially when you use the flame thrower when stacking - you want to make sure you hit shots that are lit for both multiball and mission. So for example, based on the active mission with the multiball, you'll want to hit shots in a certain order to ensure you're getting 2X for both the mission shot and multiball shot. So learning the missions is important.
When going for points, I don't seem to bother with encounteres. The bonus levels can be rewarding wise, but I'm not finding enough points there. I'd still like to explore them more though. Ambush - I never seem to advance towards it (even on those billion point games). I also haven't been using other features of the foundry much. I tend to just buy the flame thrower + rifle combo. I think it would be great if you weren't locked in to only buying 1 item or 2 items side by side - and instead could just select any combination of items up to the value of beskar you have. I'm keen to play around a bit with buying other items and seeing how I can best use them.

How's everyone going in the challenge mode?
I'm finding myself playing it quite a bit as it's a fun distraction from the main game (along with impossible mode).
Trying to break the 300 million barrier at the moment, but just can't quite get there.

Code 1.00!
LE/PREMIUM V1.00 - December 6, 2021
===================================
FIXED:
- The Razor Crest max value was able to be larger than intended. Its now
capped at 20M before being multiplied.
- Fixed a misspelling of an audit
- Fixed The MAX playfield multiplier was not capped at 7X. It was capping
at 6X.
- Ambush was not starting correctly from the ? feature in the FOUNDRY
NEW:
- Added an adjustment to break up the series of multiballs called
MULTIBALL ALWAYS ENABLED. It defaults to YES. If set to NO the player
will be required to complete a HUNTER MISSION or drain the ball before
they can continue to advance toward the next multiball.
- Added MULTIBALL ALWAYS ENABLED to the COMPETITION INSTALL. It will
be set to NO for this INSTALL.
- Changed how Ambush will start -
- Added a tiny one-shot Mini-Wizard mode that starts when nothing else is
happening; you don't have anything else running and you shoot the uturn.
- You have 6 seconds (which can be increased a bit on the two-bank) to
shoot one of 6 shots. Two of the 6 shots will start AMBUSH.
- If you shoot one of the other shots you have ESCAPED, for now. The
shot will be removed from the next time and you will have a 2 in 5
chance to start Ambush.
- If the game is in Competition game play mode the first shot will start
Ambush.
- Removed the adjustment AMBUSH ADV TO START.
TWEAKED:
- Changed "DISABLE TOP POST" adjustment. There are now 3 settings:
-- RAISE FOR RIGHT ORBITS - Default - Raise when needed and all right
orbits.
-- DEFAULT DOWN: RAISE AS NEEDED - Only raise when a rule needs it up.
-- DISABLED: NEVER RAISE - The top post is disabled.
- Added "DISABLE TOP POST" and "MULTIBALL ALWAYS ENABLED" to two INSTALLs:
DIRECTORS CUT and HOME. There are now 7 Adjustments affected:
-- FREE PLAY - Set to YES
-- HSTD INITIALS - Set to 10 LETTER NAME
-- BALL SAVE TIME - Set to 12 seconds
-- AD_BALL_SAVE_LIMIT - Set to 1
-- ALLOW LEFT+START TO END GAME - Set to ALWAYS
-- DISABLE TOP POST - Set to DEFAULT DOWN: RAISE AS NEEDED
-- MULTIBALL ALWAYS ENABLED - Set to NO
- Changed how many shots you get during each session of Razor Crest
Hurry-Up. Its now a function of how many multipliers you have lit. If
you have 0 you will get 2 shots. Each lit multiplier adds 2 shots.
Therefore if you have all 3 multipliers lit you will get 8 shots during
one session of Razor Crest Hurry-Up.
-- Since this greatly increases how many points you can receive the
points needed to be reduced at the base level. The maximum points are
still quite large.
- Changed Foundry to respond to closed action button instead of a quick
tap.
- Changed the Luke award display effects to not be killable from holding in
both flippers, in the wizard mode YOU HAVE WHAT I WANT.
- Completing a Luke level during YOU HAVE WHAT I WANT will add a ball into
play.
- Improved how and when the mini-playfield moves.
- If a ball falls into the mini-playfield when you are between Encounters
and you can start an Encounter the next Encounter will now start.
MOVED TO SYSTEM 2.98 -
Updated to nodeboard firmware v0.80.0
Added Standard Adjustment "LCD DISPLAY BRIGHTNESS" to allow dimming of LCD
display.

Thanks for posting this, just confirmed. 1.00 is available on Sterns site now.

Quoted from KozMckPinball:

As stated earlier in this thread, I closed the outlanes and makes a big difference to minimize the sling to the side wall and drain down the outlane. Post rejections still get to the outlanes though.

Totally agree as to how brutal this game can be, I bang a lot of bricks off the posts and I can live with most of them. I just chalk it up to my poor shooting skills. However, the death shot for me is the 2x rampTarget just to the left of the right ramp.(I have a pro) I've had more solid bounces off that, that result in air balls deep into the right outlane or back into the shooter lane(honestly, I'm okay with back into the shooter lane). Can anyone suggest a tweak or adjustment to that Target, maybe a piece of foam or felt back there to deaden the blow. I plan on installing diddys trooper heads on Spike mod along the plastic between the outlane and shooter Lane and I'm a little hesitant, as that may block some of the air balls on their way to the shooter Lane and knock them back to the outlane. Hell it's tough enough as it is. Still loving this game though!

Quoted from J85M:

So I installed the tiltgraphics Cara Dune ramp lane decal, I have it lined up perfectly at the top end of the shooter yet it hangs over the edge of the legs at the bottom of the forks and also doesn’t line up correctly on the forks, is this normal for tilt? First product of theirs I have purchased.
P.s. Merry Christmas fellow Mandos!
[quoted image]

I installed mine a couple weeks ago, was fairly happy with the final placement although the lower right tab seems a little narrower than the ramp versus the left. It may be that the one you received was cut a little off center. My placement does leave about a millimeter of ramp exposed all the way up the right side but I'm fine with it.

Sooo.... I've been having some issues with The foundry scoop. The switch doesn't seem to register all the time. Sometimes it rejects the ball immediately without awarding the lit value, sometimes the ball will just sit in there, not registering and then is kicked out when the machine does a ball search. Have checked underneath and the switch assembly seems solid and you can hear an audible click when you depress the switch. Is there a simple adjustment I am overlooking?

#3511 2 years ago

This was done by a buddy of mine about 10 years ago, always makes me giggle when I see it.
On a side note, I've had my pro since August and this machine just keeps on giving.

So for the Mando modders out there, if you haven't yet seen episode 5 of The book of boba Fett, it may be time to start the hunt for a Naboo Starfighter to tweek. I've said too much

I'm usually not a big fan of adding an action figure to a pinball machine and calling it a mod... But this sure looks cool to me in here. Height and placement look good, when I have a chance I'll add some paint and details so he matches the series boba.

IM thinking of a playfield protector for my Premium. For the guys who have installed one on theirs, where did you order it from. I'm thinking of Cointaker, but I have heard they roll theirs. I have order from Playfield Protectors direct before, and they send theirs flat. V/R

Mando was my first NIB game, I've had it since August with around 3,000 plays on it now. I wish I had put a playfield protector on it right out of the gate. I posted this picture last night but here it is again zoomed and highlighted, look at the circled area. The entire play field is riddled with pits and now it's starting to show signs of planking. It's okay though, Stern says after 20,000 plays or so it will all seem pretty smooth, hardly noticeable.imo installing a playfield protector would definitely be worth the effort and time.

Quoted from Xelz:

I’m not sure a protector would mitigate planking. That’s likely due to humidity/temperature fluctuations that caused the wood grain to expand.

You're correct about the planking, a playfield protector won't do anything to solve that issue. I was just pointing it out in the picture, as it breaks my heart that my precious snowflake is deteriorating before my eyes. Still absolutely love this game though.

Quoted from Guinnesstime:

It is. I have the same. Pay for a full kit, literally get the shaft. Disappointing because it looks fantastic.

Ditto to this, you can still make the skill shot if you use the action button but that really defeats the purpose of having such a badass looking shooter rod. For what it's worth, I played on someone else's machine last night that they've had since December and that factory shooter rod was weak as well. Would be nice to find a simple fix for this.

Wiz mod do the best after market art blades for Mando imo, the stern ones are great though for consistency of the art style.

For those of you who might be having intermittent problems with The foundry scoop, before you replace the micro switch underneath, check the solder points on that switch. I could have just saved myself a lot of grief as the problem was not the switch but a bad solder job on the switch lug from the factory. Just saying.

More love for mando! Had a chance today to finish some Mando projects. Most notably and probably the boldest move was repositioning the animated grogu mod to over the mini playfield. Was sick of him not having the full range of motion with the tight fitt he had on the left corner. It also opens up the left corner for an ice cave mod idea that has been kicking around in my head lately. I also did some work under the hood. Added pinmonks flipper fans and added some anti-airball shims under each of the stand-ups by right ramp. Was really surprised how well the shims work at keeping the ball on the playfield. What a great game.

This really sucks when you are trying for super skill shot or super jackpot...nail the shot and...NOTHING. There has got to be a way to get this important shot to be more consistent. What about those magnet switch dealies? Weren't those guys in here at some point?

I've noticed the same inconsistencies and have been thinking about replacing that switch with the magnetic switches. Those guys just seem to show up anytime someone has a switch issue. Figured I'd contact them next time I saw a post from them.

Stern, take notes! From the factory...
[quoted image]

Would be nice if they actually did. It seems like the only way Stern could make something that didn't suck, is if they started making vacuum cleaners. It actually pains me to say that, as Mando is my favorite machine currently and I'm waiting patiently for Godzilla's arrival. It just sure would be nice if after shelling out 7 to 10 grand on a machine you could just plug it in and play it the day you get it without having to worry about destroying it, or having to add a couple hundred dollars in basic upgrades right out of the gate. (Cliffies, coil stops, new rubbers, etc.)

Quoted from KozMckPinball:

Finally got my Boba Fett ship mod installed on my Mando LE. IT looks great. The ship hangs over the right ramp return wire form, so the ball goes underneath the ship nose. This is the Bandai 1/144 scale model, I built it painted it and decaled it. It has a cool detailed cockpit that I still need to light from inside the ship. It looks cool with the Razor Crest ship and Fett's ship hunting the Tie Fighter I have installed as well.
The ship shakes when the shaker on on.
If anyone needs direction on making this happen for their machine let me know. I am not a mods for sale guy, just did it for our home machine. The ship install bracket is custom and I got it 3D printed at XOMETRY for $20 or so. The other parts are probably another $20.

Thanks. That seemed to help a little, but also felt like some of the screws were already stripped. My first at home stern and feel like I just need to be a little softer with it.
Also turned down the through lane power cause it was beating up the lane. And adding protection.
Going to install the side armor. Wondering if folks added all the new wood screws or just left them off?

Side armor is just fine without the screws, no sense in adding holes to your precious snowflake. That worked for me anyway.

#4621 1 year ago
Quoted from RandomRetro:

Haha and yeah exactly what I was thinking. Seems solid enough without them. Not likely they will ever come off… so probably moot either way and comes down to preference.

Agreed, I just couldn't bring myself to do it.IMO best side armor of any machine out there, just saying.

#4625 1 year ago
Quoted from KSP1138:

I originally didn't put the screws in either, but for some reason the empty screw holes bugged me. There's a little rattle without them since this side armor only has the larger bolts at each end since none of the rail screw holes are used.

A piece of felt tape, placed over the screw holes attached on the back side of the armor, fixes the rattle and blackens that hole.

I'm too excited not to share an image of this. Got tired of stern not offering up a topper, and honestly now I'm glad they haven't. Couldn't be happier with this piece. I would shoot a video but my crappy phone wouldn't do it justice. The top of the piece and the eyes light up and move independently of each other, it's got numerous call outs from the series and oh yeah, the chest plate opens up revealing a detonator that moves forward, lights up and blinks. Insert LED question - I have a mandalorian LE, ~ 6 months old. Does anyone know, or can advise if the insert lights are by design to display any "blended colors" ?
I just noticed and it seems like it catch's my attention as something different, but.... The razor crest inserts, at times are not green, but rather a washed out, like teal or weak green. But then will shift back to green. When I test the lights, the diagnostic options are red, green, blue which all test fine, although there is not a test for white?
It looks like when flashing the white is on with the green and thus making the color a really light green at time, but can't seem to determine if this is related to a game condition. My question is - is this correct/normal - I swear I never noticed that before and there really isn't any info available for what color the lights are supposed to be when? Im thinking they were always solid green, but I could be wrong
I fear I could have a board issue ?!? No other light anomalies at all though
thanks for any comments/info in advance!
mike

It's all good, those razor Crest lights are normally green but they change to the teal color when you have one shot left to achieve the multiball.

Quoted from ArmyChris:

So this is my first pin ever. I went in blind on buying my first pin. So excuse the layman's terms on this. But I have a few questions
1.) I've noticed that like 3 out of 4 times, the ball doesn't even have enough power to get to my flipper in the top right playfield (pro model). It either just rolls straight down from the ramp or doesn't get pushed close enough to the flipper to even get some hits on it. Is it supposed to be this way? I can't even complete encounters because 3/4 times the ball doesn't even get to the flipper for me to hit it.
2.) Do you guys consider this to be a newbie friendly game? I ask this because if so, I can't handle the stress of other pins then lol. I feel like the layout, when it hits the bottom bumpers, is just prone to have the ball go to the outer lanes and there's nothing I can do. Like it hits an angle perfectly after it hits the bumper and shoots out of bounds. Or if trying for the razer crest, sometimes it just falls back down straight where I'd really have to push the machine to get it in play again. So is this just normal in the pin world where yeah, physics just screw you up sometimes? Might be a stupid question but I am getting frustrated where I have good games (for me) and the third ball, it just hits the bumper, bounces a few times, then bounces out of bounds with nothing I can do.

For your upper playfield issues try this also, remove the plastic that faces the mini playfield on the stair step ramp that feeds that playfield. This provides the ball more momentum to feed to your flipper instead of just dropping straight down and rolling out of the playfield.

So smokinhos , Beeloots , ChrisLIX , medic7000 , Apinjunkie , scootss , freddy , OB1Kenobi , I just want to say I appreciate the time to reply to my post and give advice/feedback.
I don't want to quote everyone of you because then it would make my reply super huge, lol.
But I just want to say I read every one of your posts. I did not know I could adjust the slingshot strength and adjust the playfield to make the out of bounds smaller, so thanks to whoever said that. I put the slingshot to the absolute minimum, because going from the 20's it was at, to even 15 for example, I hardly noticed a difference lol. Only the minimum felt easier to me.
And ChrisLIX , here is where my flipper is, I did not know it could be an issue: https://imgur.com/a/XSSj6fW
And thanks to whoever said I could take off the gate for the upper right playfield ball. I will be doing that this weekend
So yeah, thanks for such an awesome and helpful community here!

hey all, so I'm loving my Mando premium and slowly working my way through this thread (only up to page 32 though). I've seem some indications that my questions below might have been hit by others, but would rather not wait till i've had time to read through everything before solving these problems.
1. I'm getting the issue where the ball bounces back from the pin (that pops up) when i hit a strong right orbit. Did anyone find a solution for this? I noticed some people talking about metallica having a metal pin, is it possible/easy to make this change?
2. I'm not convinced my skillshot stuff is working. Sometimes when i hold in the left flipper the pin still comes up (and it doesn't only seem to be when child is lit) and sometimes when i don't hold the left flipper in, the ball still completes the orbit (the pin doesn't seem to come up). Is this normal? Am i missing something?
3. I'd like to do a low level upgrade on my speakers (love pinwoofer gear but don't have the budget for a full upgrade). I found an option (linked below) here in Australia, but am i right i'd still need some new brackers/spacers? if so, i they something i can find online? what am i looking for?

Quoted from bulletbait:

Question for anyone with a Pro that has replaced the plastic rails with the stock metal ones from a Premium -- should I have done anything other than just swap them out, put a washer on the screw, and tightened them down? I'm having issues with the ball sometimes coming in too hot off the right ramp and spinning/jumping right over the end of the rail and draining. It seems like maybe the rail isn't secured fully and rattles just a tiny bit, giving the ball some lift? I guess it's possible my metal rails got bent a little at the end during storage/shipping and I might just need to bend the two curves at the end of the wire form a little bit more apart, but I'm wary of trying to bend something if there's some other dumb thing I'm missing. I'm still new to all of this.

Go with your initial instincts and give them a little bend, it's not uncommon for them to need a little tweak once in the game.

Quoted from cooked71:

Who’s making the best animated Grogu kit? I’ve already got Grogu, just need the electronics.
Was originally on Abate’s list but that never eventuated, so after someone reliable.

Quoted from 77CMG77:

Got anyone mirrorblades in this pin and could post a pic? I am thinking about adding them or some artblades and still not sure which one it will be.

I'm a big fan of the mirror blades, seems like a no-brainer to me. Brightens up any machine that you put them in

It looks sweet, is 2 Grand the actual asking price?

#6029 1 year ago
Quoted from gentrsa:

MSRP at least so yes and maybe no as you might could get it for slightly less, maybe.

I'll stick with the one I have, would love to have one but the kids need braces so...

Where are people seeing the price? I wonder how it looks not powered on.

Like a $2,000 piece of plastic.

Quoted from Saltimbanco:

Topper looks great, no doubt about that. Fully integrated to gameplay, 3D holographic display, etc.
Price? Yeah..
Wondering, are they asking for proof of ownership of said pinball before you can order one? Or is this just a dream come true for flippers out there.. I'm seriously asking, I've never ordered a topper from Stern before.

Five grand by Christmas!

Quoted from Gubbin:

Welcome to pinball ownership... The nut that holds the coil stop on came unwelded ( I guess they are welded?) Do i need to replace the whole base now?
[quoted image][quoted image]

No need to replace the whole base just the coil stops, pinball life or Marco's carries them. Stearns are notoriously cheesy, there's probably a pile of brass filings in your cabinet below the flippers. They're cheap so order replacements for all your flippers and stay ahead of this.

Well, they say all good things must come to an end. I've had my Mando for 2 years now, my first nib and have stated more than once it will never leave my home. I was wrong again, have worked out a trade for a Alien SV. It's been a fun ride, two years into it and the game is still challenging and fun to shoot. I will miss it but I have two friends in League that also have Mando so I can still get my fix from time to time. It's just time for some new blood (acid for blood). I just wanted to give a shout out to everyone in the club and say thanks for sharing, tips, tricks, help and all the great mods that have popped up for this game.
This is the way.
Now that all that has been said, if anyone is interested, I will be parting with my Iron studios 1/10 scale Mando with speeder bike. This is a limited edition hand-painted cast resin piece with incredible detail. Makes a great topper or looks nice on a shelf if you're a dork like me and can appreciate it. Original packaging included. I will be asking $350 for it (includes shipping in the US). The major online toy stores have been out of stock for a while and the average eBay gouger is asking around 400 to 450.Just wanted to offer it up here first before I place an ad next week.PM if interested or you would like more details.

Quoted from Indypin:

Am I seeing things or is the animated Grogu on the wrong side of the playfield? How do you see the upper flipper play area?
Not bashing, just curious because I've never seen that before.

It's all good, it was my answer to his arm not being able to raise because of the plastic ramp on the other side. I made a custom mount and from the players perspective you can see the targets without any trouble. If you attach the optical sensor to to the flasher in the upper playfield he only goes through the motions when the ball drops into that area and is not always moving in attract mode. My plan was always to design an ice spider cave in the original Yoda area.

Quoted from chubtoad13:

That’s a great idea. Can you share a picture of the mount? I’m going to give this a try on my game.

Working a double today, I'll take a few upskirt photos of grogu when I get home.

Here's some info on the mount for my grogu. The base is a piece of lexan that was cut to fit square in the upper right corner of the game. Holes were drilled to mount utilizing the upper right post original lock nut and a hole over the furthest right post directly over the targets. It's difficult to get to this spot to reapply this lock nut and I have found it's simpler to leave off when mounting (someone with smaller hands and more patients than myself might be able to do it) the piece is plenty secure even in the service position. I used some odd L bracket type hardware to secure Yoda to the lexan with screws, lock washers and nuts. I used the original screws and mounts inside Yoda to secure him to l brackets. For extra measure I used double-faced clear gorilla tape between the bottom of the l bracket and the lexan. You'll probably also have to hot glue or stitch up the bottom of his robe, I just tucked it under and hot glued in place and it's been holding up for nearly 2 years now. Before deciding on the final spot for his exact placement make sure there is room for the arm to move and not so far back that his head bangs against the back wall of the cabinet.
He might look a little sketchy under the skirt but it's a solid mount and I'm really happy with it. Never went to the hardware store, just simply worked with some scrap parts I dug up around the shop.
