Quoted from TheGunnett:

#500 has arrived in PA, thanks to Melissa and Chris at CoinTaker!

I know they just shipped out a good number of these, but my guess is they haven’t made 500 of them yet. They be being made out of order.

By the way, your game room is nothing short of incredible. I’m blown away seeing it. Congrats.

#302 2 years ago
Quoted from TigerLaw:

How is the code coming along so far? Still super early or did it ship close to done code wise?

Code feels good with Dwight stacking and robust hurry-ups with choice of rewards but it is still a little buggy.

Anyone else hearing a loud squelching noise during replay and match? It’s high pitched and really loud. I just updated to .96 code and it’s still happening.

That’s the stern “knocker”. You can disable it in settings or buy a real physical knocker from pinball life.

That worked. Thanks!

Add my routed Mando to the list with broken diverters. 280 plays. JB weld is curing right now, we shall see if it holds until the replacement shows up.

Forgive my ignorance, but does anyone know if the same breaking diverter will be used on the premium/le?

#310 2 years ago

Did Stern find a solution?

I want this pin, but without those problems, they easily could find and solve before shipping by testing
Better waiting for the next batch ?

It's the same part, I'm sure it is. Once mine breaks I'll order another and tack weld the old one back together so I have a replacement for the future

If you're able to wait for a future run that is what I would do (actually what I am doing). Hoping for a design change for the ramp that has been cracking too. You have at least 3 years (probably longer) to buy this pin. No need to rush.

Whatever fixes they make will get sent to everyone.

Bummer to see but that should hold until They get you figured out.

I never heard what you thought of the pin?

#314 2 years ago

Anybody witness the bracket at the time it broke? Wondering if the loose play in it has the long skinny bar hitting something and breaking or if the ball is doing it.

Anybody know of a good way to get a couple flyers for the game (premium), other than waiting for them to eventually show up on ebay? I like to snag two of each machine I have so I can frame and display the front/back. Non pinball guests always think it's funny/interesting how much the promo materials have evolved from our oldest ( Lost World ) to our newest ( Batman 66 (Premium), soon to be The Mandalorian (Premium) ).

You talking about the PDF flyers they post? Why not take that to a good printer and have it done on nice card stock?

Or are the flyers different?

Ah, right! Forgot that those were available on Stern's website. Looks like the PDFs are "Lo Res" according to the filename, though.. may see if I can get a decent print.. otherwise may just wait for them to show up on eBay. Or bug my distributor.

For anybody else who is interested, here are the links:

Pro: https://sternpinball.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Mando-Pro-Final-Lo-Res-compressed.pdf
Prem: https://sternpinball.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Mando-Prem-Final-Lo-Res-compressed.pdf
LE: https://sternpinball.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Mando-LE-Final-Lo-Res-compressed.pdf

Edit: This bullet point on the Prem flyer seems to suggest there are 4 wizard modes before This is the Way, rather than just three? Or am I forgetting something?
pasted_image (resized).pngpasted_image (resized).png

Edit 2: PDF Rulesheet just lists 4 as expected.. must be a typo on the flyer. D'oh!

Quoted from 0geist0:

Can't make up my mind if I want a Pro or a Premium. The Premium has more toys, but the Pro has fewer things to break....

Pro often has some better flow, less stop and go. This is why I go Pro.

I bet if you emailed Stern they might send you a hi res version. They've emailed me docs (installation instructions for parts etc) not posted on their site before - worth a try at least.

Do you have any game blades in the works yet?

#325 2 years ago
Quoted from bernieberg:

JB weld is curing right now, we shall see if it holds until the replacement shows up.

The JB weld lasted 8 plays. I now have it zip tied. Its surprisingly solid, and the ball still flows to the staging area fine. Hopefully this will last longer...

I didn't get a good pic of the zip ties on the diverter out of the machine, but here it is installed:

I played a pro yesterday and I was very pleasantly surprised. I'm tempted to buy one from my local distributor. Are the playfields holding up from stern these days?

Quoted from digitaldocc:

Mine has been problem free. Some others have had chipping problems due to overtightened bolts from the factory.

I have too many games and Mando LE coming soon. No room and I can't seem to let any go!

Live in Florida and humidity is high.

Think it's OK for a couple of weeks in my garage sealed in box??? Brick construction so garage never gets over 80 degrees

And not really humid in garage.

I haven't seen any chipping but the lane guides on Sterns can dig into the playfield if overtightened.

its no worse than in the back of a truck, or in a container, or in some distribution center. It will be fine.

#337 2 years ago

Good stream tonight by Jack on dead flip. I hope I get my Le soon. I can’t keep watching These because it feels like it’s taking forever!

Quoted from flynnibus:

I was thinking the same thing. I live in Arizona and I get NIB pins from the back of trucks which are probably 120 degrees easy. I can’t imagine it is the best climate for a machine, but I suspect it would take a few months at that temp to actually hurt it.

Quoted from digitaldocc:

I find the playfields on Stern and American pinball to be excellent. Spooky has a good one with Rick and Morty, but TNA was a mess. I don’t have any experience with JJP, but things on the forum don’t look great.

#340 2 years ago

I wonder if anyone with an LE now, also has access to a pro? Would be interesting to know if the metal ball ramps are a simple drop in and could replace the plastic ramps.

as much as people woe over the plastic ramps obscuring the right ramp area... I think the crossing metal ramps are just as bad blocking the approach to the u turn.
