Quoted from crujones4life:

I noticed this plastic on my NIB Mando was raised up on the end slightly...they must have started putting something under this plastic to raise it. Build date 7/22/21.

I think that low hanging plastic also causes some missed left orbitals to. Interested as well!

Edit: Upon further inspection it seems the front of the plastic, near the spinner and that's screwed into the post, is higher than the back near the center ramp where it rests on the ball guide. So maybe you are on to something.

Just installed the plastic plastic protectors from Mezel Mods and couldn’t be more happy with the orange.

I just got mine in the mail (got clear but the orange looks so good!). I take it when installing you can remove the washers?

Nice! That’s my understanding when looking at the pictures on Mezel Mods website. I didn’t see washers on there so I removed them as well.

None of these are great pics but I didn't have time to disassemble. You can definitely see it curve up towards the back. I can stick my fingertip between the plastic and the rail. I wonder why they didn't just raise the whole thing up with washers instead of bending the plastic.

Hi team,

Can I please get some advice please.

I have a LE and have noticed that the shooter rod doesn’t protrude into the launch lane and as such won’t fire. Does anybody have a link or suggestion on how I can remedy this please

I also am having some issues on the poorly welded piece that diverts the ball to the upper play field. Whilst it has not broken yet their is a lot of right to left horizontal play. In fact they unit is making a significant “TING” sound and you can see it moving

Is this normal and or is their away to tighten the unit up as I don’t believe it was like this to start with.

Thanks for your time in responding to this newbie

Cheers

BK

I raised mine a couple of days ago as it seemed to get hit. Still I'm having problems with the orbit shots slowing down due to the rubber rings on the posts along the way. Any ideas?

I have a pro but mine makes a similar “ting” sound as well. A bunch of youtube videos I’ve seen I can hear the same sound. Nothing has broken yet, I am at ~100 plays.

On precious cargo round 2 there are 5 blinking green shots and a 20 minute timer. I cannot seem to complete the second round even hitting all shots multiple times. Does anyone know what you have to do to complete round 2?

#1562 2 years ago

Dang not even 100 plays and the ramp cracked. I do have an order for cliffys in but not sure when they will arrive. The entire ramp did not crack, just a piece at the top. Still safe to play?

Normal - The bracket floats there in guides, it's only attached by a post.

I know I see some say to go through their distributor but would you just contact technical support directly to Stern?

Also installed the shaker motor and plastic protectors from Mezel Mods. Granted this is the first pinball machine I've "owned" but holy crap that thing is strong!

Here's what I did...that black screw that holds down the plastic isn't long enough (it also looks like a wood screw whick is weird because there's a riser under it), so remove it and get a longer machine screw. I think I used 10/32 x 3/4". Underneath the plastic put 2 7/16"OD rubbers and then screw it down. Works like a champ and is a little more elegant than my previous bit of beerseal on the guide.

Quoted from Spyderturbo007:

The welds on our diverter broke at league last night. Apparently welds are expensive. We have our Mandalorian launch party on Sunday. Nothing like having a broken machine for a launch party.
The operator is going to try to get them to overnight one......We'll see how that goes.
Go Stern!

Well, as much as I wanted to bad mouth Stern because of my BM'66 issues, they over nighted a new diverter to the operator who got it installed in time for our launch party.

Between the ramp and the diverter issues mine has had.... Stern has been very accommodating. Honestly, I'm new to the hobby but not naïve. I expect issues to occur but warranty service means a lot to me and Stern has been ACES for me.

Mine was tight as well and dug into the decal a little. Bent the tabs and all is good. Stern is also sending me a backup decal for the future.

Where are the tabs you bent?

Stern actually sent me the engineering drawing of that part. There is no known change (yet) in production to that area to include any additional washers or raising of the plastic. Pablo did suggest putting some washers under the plastic to raise it so it seems your solution is a little more dramatic then that.

You mentioned you used 2 7/16" rubbers. Aren't there 3 screws? Or did you not place them under the screw closest to the front of the machine?

There is definitely something under my plastic up by the little ramp by Grogu. I guess it's on all of them? It causes the plastic to be noticeably raised up on that side.

Interesting. Mine is like this - raised above the guide at the center post and then slopes down to resting on the rail guide at the black plastic screw.

Anyone know when the Mando Premiums will go back on the line? Is the October run indeed no longer happening? Are the rumors this is not going back on the line until 2022 true?

Quoted from TigerLaw:

I was told Q12022 when I (pre)ordered on June 25th. I assumed that there were earlier runs I just missed out on since I was “late” to pre-order. That was just an assumption though.

#1582 2 years ago

Stern is sending me a replacement left ramp, pretty fast and reasonable!

In other news…..how do you backhand that right ramp? Even if I cradle the ball it either hits the flipper or if I get it up there it hits the target right next to it. I need to get better, but that is a tough shot. I can even backhand the left ramp more!

I can backhand both ramps. I find the right ramp harder than the left. I am probably hit 70% of the time on the right ramp.

Something like this is probably the best idea. This point of the plastic is lower than either side (front or back). I don't know if that is intentional for some reason or not. I don't feel good about the plastic being bent like that though so I will either try some small rubber or washers there too.

Correct, I only did that top screw just to the left of the ball guide, used 2 rubbers to make sure it was lifted enough.

Awesome! Thanks. According to stern its a 6-32 X 3/8” flat head screw if you want to update your original post.

I'm out. Still no date from my distributor as to when I could expect the game. Not their fault, and I know Stern has been having supply issues, but if they can slam out 1000 Godzillas in the next few weeks they could've made my f'ing Mando that I ordered four months ago.

I feel that and it is probably going to get worse as they keep moving onto the next thing to meet commitments. Some people who order GZ Prem won't get it until mid 22.

So after discussion with Pablo, my Mando had a 1 1/8" hex post under the black screw. It was supposed to be 1 1/4" hex post. Stern is sending me a replacement post.

I still would like someone to take there's off that's bent up to see what's going on....

There are two screw under that hex post and plastic spacer separating the plastics where the washer is. I bet they didn't screw it in all the way.

What issue is this fixing?

#1594 2 years ago
Quoted from Mando:

What issue is this fixing?

My left orbit plastic (830-8452-09) was too low towards the spinner and resting on the outer guide rail when it's raised above it near the hunter standups. The hex post under the black screw near the spinner needs to be 1 1/4", which is the height of the post near the standups. Mine was 1 1/8". I'm getting weird hangups on some left orbits where it hits that piece of plastic that overhangs the orbit near the flasher. Same with unsmooth returns from the center ramp when it exits the gate.

We'll see if the higher posts fixes it or if it still needs a few washers or rubbers jaycbarnett used to raise it.

If you look at my previous post (https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/this-is-the-way-the-mandalorian-owners-club/page/32#post-6495029), you can clearly see how the plastic slopes down towards the guide because the back post is shorter.

Mine definitely has the shorter post as the slant is exactly the same. Going to take it apart today or tomorrow and have a look. Bought some washers to raise it up.

#1596 2 years ago
Quoted from Ponzie:

Note: You'll need new mounting plates which I purchased from Doug and SpeakerLightKits.com if you're doing the upgrade. (Lights are optional but look cool... )

Anywhere else people have snagged these mounting plates to convert from 4" to 5.25"? The pinwoofer bracket isn't sold separately but something like that would be preferable to the $50 plates at speakerlightkits if they're available.

I'm at about 150 plays (HUO) and once the Cliffy's come in this week I think I'm going to clean the playfield. I previously vacuumed when I took the glass off around ~75 plays to get the coil(?) dust and particles off the board.

I have been reading vid's thread on cleaning but want to make sure nothing special is needed for these newer sterns. Safe to vacuum/wipe down with novus1 (lightly)/wax with blitz?

Also think I encountered a bug. Got a sneaky skill shot and was up there until the flipper died. Then the lights on the playfield stayed off until I started an actual encounter. Was weird but corrected itself.

So the reason my plastic was bent up by Grogu is because it was sitting on the wire for the flasher. I put 5 #10 washers under the plastic (see pic). Better but every few shots the ball will nick the plastic and it starts bouncing. Gonna reach out to Pablo for the correct hex post.
