That would be great to hear how good SDTMinSTL can lie. He may not want his wife to listen to that show.

I'm thinking of changing my post to Fluorescent Green the upper - Narrow Plastic Post 1-1/16" Tall #550-5059-11 and the Fluorescent Green Transluscent Star Post 1-1/16" Tall #550-5034-11 from Pinball Life. I changed the clear plastic protection to ... Yep Fluorescent Green. Yes I like green but can't keep it in my wallet. What say you.

It turned out someone had previously switched the positions of two cables on one of the light boards causing a bunch of mismatches.
Is there any way to clear the coin drop audits without also clearing the high scores? I hit the clear credits but it didnt seem to affect any coin drop audits. I cleared the other audits and all high scores were lost.

I believe coin audit can't be cleared. Unless a chip on board is replaced. Stops someone from saying "HUO only 256 plays" when coin drops say 4537

Quoted from killborn:

Hey guys, I've been noticing a problem with the lights in attract mode where a handful of lights are not displaying the right colors.
This usually occurs after about a dozen games and it carries over from attract mode into a game. I've traced those bulbs back to their boards under the playfield and wiggled and occasionally that has helped. A couple of those connectors weren't seated all the way, so I removed the glue and reseated them, but that didn't resolve anything. Rebooting the game is the only thing that consistently resolves the issue, although it is only temporary.
The bulbs that are lit up in the first photo are the usual suspects, although it can seem more random at times. I'll see if I can post a gif if that helps.
I am also running 1.3
It's not that big of a deal, I just love the light show so much![quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

You're welcome
I saw it first at the Pinball Life openhouse this last time that Terry had it. Scott was there and he told us about the blue GI with the green protectors and when I got a chance to play a game and saw the effect, we ran to the back to buy the last set that they had. So Scott did his job selling it to me
They will have more in stock. They just need to cut some more sets.

Scott seen my game 10 months ago, like them and the rest is history.

Quoted from joelbob:

I’m glad people like the colored plastics but I actually returned the green set I had purchased because it made all the grey plastics look yellow. I’m assuming the pink will do something similar.
Is it possible to make plastics that have the centers cut out so that it doesn’t change the main plastic graphics? You really only need the color on the edges. If these are cut with a laser you could cut on outside edge “ring” in green or pink and then cut the centers in clear and glue the two together. Complex but wouldn’t change the grey color pallet.

Funny you say this. I'm just starting to cut the center out of my green protectors. I'll post pics when I finally finish. Hopefully by Saturday.

#6565 4 years ago

Started removing center from florescent protectors. I only did one, I'll redo it and leave about 3/8" all the eay around.
Can you tell which one was done. Need to buy a laser cutter because it was a PITA. Just started playing a game and yes I'll do the rest.

#6567 4 years ago

I don't see any structural issues and I went to thin. It's just a plate setting under the original plastics. 3/8" - 1/2" will work IMHO. I'll do my slinge too. Just need to get some blades for my scroll saw.
I've been wanting to do this for 6 months. I started doing them yesterday and then seen your post and knew I was headed in the right direction.

#6571 4 years ago
Quoted from TheNoTrashCougar:

Looks great, but 2 things you need to know about these protectors.
1. If you cut the middle out, it will not capture as much light and the edges may not glow as much as they used to. Can you take some blue GI pictures and see if it still is as bright on the edges?
2. I worry about structural issues as these can take direct ball hits. They are meant to be protectors for the plastic and there are not single replacement pieces for sale in case one snaps.
Thoughts?
--Scott

I'll be the tester, if it doesn't work I'll head over to PBL and purchase new ones. Then I will leave well enough alone. I'll cut sling tomorrow here it will have 7/16" around sll sides.

You can tell by the reflection on the playfield that it looks like it is getting a little less light absorption, but does not look too bad. In all honesty though, we will probably not be changing this product. It is neat to see if this works or not though. Thank you for testing it out.

Yes if you look at the playfield (reflection) you can see that right side has center removed. I'll post photos of slings overhead at 6:30 ish EST.

Check the last few pages. Some people like the green, others all pink, and some clear. I personally prefer the clear as they don’t “yellow“ the colors of the actual plastics.

Don't forget some are now getting ready to try green with centers cut out. And I may try to replace cut out with clear.

Just had a game where I activated multiball with a light hit against the bottom drop target and the middle drop target stayed up so only one ball was released. Then a short time later during multiball the second ball was released. Is that a feature or are my drop targets getting weird again?

Well if drop targets got weird once, I'm betting they are weird or weirder again.

Thanks Scott

#7278 3 years ago

I played my 1st game with V1.4.2. Destroyed the first reactor and ball came towards flipper and the flipper didn't response. Ball drains and I said that's new, I was then waiting for ball save to launch ball. But look at playfield and backglass that when I noticed the game was dead. Turn game off then back on, nothing. I lost power at the same moment reactor was destroyed. Still have no power.

#7315 3 years ago
Quoted from ChipScott:

To add to the above.
After I posted that question last night, I turned the volume way way down so as not to disturb the family while I continued to try and sort the issue out.
With the volume way down, I did not encounter that problem...what the heck!? I couldn't help myself and continued to turn the volume up adjusting the front panel speakers and the subwoofer. It did appear that at a particular volume I began to notice the above problem, and again, only during the reactor startup sequence.
Again this afternoon, with the volume relatively down, I didn't notice the above issue, however with increased volume (front speaker panels and subwoofer), I noticed the sounds of some switch firing and points being awarded, and again only during the reactor startup sequence.
Could it be that the game is rattling so much with the music and whatever is happening with the shaker at that time during this reactor startup sequence that it is somehow vibrating the playfield enough to trigger a switch during that time? I've never seen that before, but I suppose it is possible, I guess.... I'm starting to think that somehow, maybe someway, the game is somehow rattling so much (during that sequence only, which is interesting) that that's what's causing the problem... not sure.
Any thoughts or suggestions on the above?
Thanks!

It's most likely a upper sling that needs to be addressed. It's to close and making contact with the slightest rattle or shake. How many points are being awarded at a single time. Remove glass and start game and see what triggers points with the slightest touch.

#7318 3 years ago
Quoted from ChipScott:

About 2500 points. The sound "seemed" to be coming from the upper core playfield. I did check those slings, but good idea to check again and make sure the leafs are not too close.

My GoT just started giving me 30 points (yesterday) when I hit flippers. It has done this before and was a leaf on the upper playfield.

Two quick questions. I have a read a lot on the topic, but what does everyone this is the best solution for play field chipping? The black neoprene washers, clear plastic washers, black plastic washers, and where did everyone get them? Also, did they ever make any kind of TNA specific key fob? I have one for every game except TNA. I might try and recreate a tiny version of the soundtrack cassette (which I would like to find some day). I’ve had the game for 2 weeks and have only reached the 5th reactor twice. I love this game.

Reactor 5 twice. 2 weeks. Slow down or go back to 3 balls. . Wow I sux

Instead of having an additional connection (that may be prone to poor connections) just replace the entire cable. There are RCA to 3.5mm mini plug. The current cable is 10 feet. I went with this: amazon.com link » which is 12 feet but seemed to have tight connections which I felt were key. It does work well, obviously long but better than short. (8' may be most ideal but I prioritized a tight connection) I turned my amp around to make the plugs more accessible and get the connection away from the shaker. I also did this as I think the mini plug had solder joint issues too.

Ordered, thanks +1

I bought a timer before I found out that was the reason it was not working. You may need to buy a hot glue gun and reglue connector back to boards.
