Can we just get this changed over to the official owner’s thread and settle on one thread to rule them all?
Quoted from delt31:Is this the most love a game has received by pinside ever upon reveal and now hands on? Art aside, which is subjective, I don’t recall a game getting so much positivity, ever on here?
Can’t wait to get my LE. I’m intentionally not playing the pro until it arrives. I know it’s going to be awesome from the reveal video.
Nothing has ever been close to this universally lauded here. Not even CGC remaking MM was like this.
Quoted from Methos:Sure it was. Hype hype Kaneda hype hype and more hype. "Best game ever made" and "better than any B/W" and "best launch ever".....etc.
He didn’t ask anything about hype. He asked about the most universal love being reported by those actually playing a game and reporting back here. Two hugely different concepts.
Quoted from BeeGee6533:I put 4 or 5 games on this premium at Logan today. Had a blast playing it. It’s hard to imagine going for the Pro on this one. The building, mechagodzilla, etc are so impressive. Also, the light show seems like a step-up for Stern big time.
Any magnet issues on the Premium?
There were a very few Black Spider-Man mirrored translites that got out there, and they went for stupid money. And this was back in 07-08.
Quoted from Hazoff:Not for me. The extra spinner has way more appeal and longevity than toys and a sinking building. That usually gets old real fast, not too mention affecting the flow.
This guy is doing bits.
They want pictures of the damaged art and will send a replacement for only the one side or panel that is damaged. I've been through this process. But who is actually going to give their info to this dude to let him try to dupe Stern with their machine # anyway? He can only justify buying the premium, but can further justify piggy-backing on someone who did cough up for an LE for some fraud? Neat.
Stern doesn’t want to deal with shipping issues to each individual end user. I don’t blame them. Ship to distros and let them handle the individual logistics headaches.
I’ve got a ton of Godzilla figures and have been considering the best replacement figure for the molded Godzilla in the game. I’ve come to the conclusion that these are the two best options, given the art and assets used:
The first is the NECA 1954 Poster Art figure. It is pretty widely available for around $50.
The second is what I am going to be using, and is the SH Monsterarts Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla Poster Art variant figure. It’s much tougher to find, and more expensive.
Both are 6”. Thank you for coming to my Godzilla figure TED talk.

Quoted from Gov:How tall is the Neca figure? Looks too tall from the pics to fit.
6”
Quoted from beltking:6 inch figure should fit. Sterns is 5-5/8 and a little room between glass. Will be close. I need to find one but the good one is $180. Stern should have reproduced that.
Both NECA and Monsterarts make a ton of 6" Godzilla figs.
My LE is on the truck, circling the Metroplex in a teasing game of "Did I Hear Airbrakes!?"
My patience holds, but in grief in doing so.
Quoted from Berserk:That's perfect! Thank you for posting the measurement... I was thinking about getting this figure to replace the stock one
https://www.sideshow.com/collectibles/godzilla-1989-bandai-908160
Measures 6.39" and looks like it will fit.
That one is 6.3 inches tall, but he is particularly long. Have to make sure you have room for all the tail on that one. but he's an awesome figure. They also make a 7.8 inch version that will be too big.
Quoted from delt31:I really like that one. I'm hoping for a mod though that makes the replacement more than just a toy. To me, the stationary toy that does nothing is a waste. Mecha has a magnet and interactive. I hope someone more creative comes up with something so it's just not a toy in the corner ala Mando.
Run an LED into his mouth and have the mouth light up blue. It would be easy.
My LE, #550, arrived safe and sound yesterday evening. My son and I put several games on it last night, and he has declared the machine to be the best ever made, apparently knocking MM off the pedestal it has enjoyed for the past couple of years in his book. I installed silicone rubber to everything on the lower playfield, and it is far more forgiving and easier to control. I have thus far defeated all kaiju so far included in early code, save for Megalon. The art package is fantastic, the LE cabinet art is tremendous, and the LE/Premium toys are just awesome. This is far and away the best overall package Stern has ever produced.
Quoted from Pinzzz:I was wondering how the LE/Prem Building mech is attached to the playfield? I hope it’s 4 stationary metal posts w/ 4 nuts. but my gut tells me Stern just used 4 screws into the wood.
Anybody have a picture of the underside of the playfield showing how the building mech is attached?
It looks to be wood screws, but in a fairly large number all the way around. I see no nuts that indicate a mounted or passed-through post.
Quoted from Indusguys:I’m not able to backhand the shot, I’m at 6.8 for pitch.
You can backhand it. Have to catch it and do so from a stop, though.
Quoted from PinMonk:Wait, back this up. Is that like delayed signal to your hand, or your hand refuses and has its own ideas/social life, like alien-hand syndrome?
Lol. He set a bear trap for you here. He’s talked about his issues after brain surgery for a tumor.
King Ghidorah is in .80. Just fought him. Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan, & Anguirus v King Ghidorah. Don’t know how I unlocked that second column of monsters, but I did. I beat Ebirah and played all the multiballs with super jackpots achieved, and had the tanks and planes inserts lit. Dunno, but it let me fight him. Every shot starts green, hit a shot to turn yellow, hit again to turn red, hit again to unlight. All shots. One ball. I got pretty far down it before it timed out, looked up in time to see Godzilla chunk a boulder and hit a fleeing Ghidorah and the Xilien declare that Ghidorah put up an unacceptable effort, while Godzilla Bro hugged Rodan. It would be wildly helpful to take a charged Heat Ray into that fight.
Gentlemen, I give you a proper Godzilla at home in his corner.
For any of these figures you are going to have to remove some portion of the tail for him to fit. Just not enough room back there to fit it all.

I’m going to use 3M sticky pads and maybe some museum putty and see if it holds well enough. I’m working through it all now. Will report back.
Quoted from beltking:Can you include pic of box or details can’t find this on eBay
This is the box. I love this one because he’s in the Toho style used for the art, and is green with blue spikes to match, as well. But there are a ton of options out there.
Search “Monsterarts Noriyoshi poster” and you will find some a bit cheaper. I found mine for less than $200. eBay, Mercari, FB Groups for Godzilla figs.... I can help and post up ones I see here if people are interested.
I make no endorsement of sellers, just finds of the figure:
EAC3CBBD-A336-46D7-8F79-F4EED9E1E414 (resized).jpegIn order to use the bigger figure you will have to lose the top plastic that the stock figure’s tail fits under. You could butcher the plastic to fit around, but unless a ball somehow manages to pop up into that corner during gameplay, I’m going to just leave the top level plastic off. I used the same holes for the stock fig tail zip tie to wiggle a new zip tie and strap across the new one’s spikes and tail stub, and just used some 3M double sided sticky pads on his feet. He isn’t going anywhere.
The Monsterarts figs have extremely opposable tails, and there is a ball and socket joint holding the tail onto the body. There just isn’t enough room to fit all that tail in that corner and have the figure sit back in a good position. But you cannot see the tail at all back there, so even with it missing it looks just fine.
I am attaching pictures of the tail where I separated it. You just turn and pull slightly and it will pop right out. You can replace and it holds completely normally. This does not harm the figure at all.

Wish they made a gigan or something.
Oh, there are figures for any and all of them. Let me play around with it later and see what I can find that fits.
7002385C-2F8A-4E17-95DE-8BF0D1AEC749 (resized).jpegQuoted from UnholySpectacle:I’m hoping a Jet Jaguar figure can fit there since he shows when you do the loop.
Well. Look there. This is the Bandai one that is readily available at Target right now. He’s in the back of the store with the Funko Pops, on the back wall of the electronics section. He fits like a glove.

Quoted from Concretehardt:Sounds like this is the way it will be as the brain doesn’t heal from radiation treatment, could alway be worse I guess.
I want to mention to all of you LE guys, be very careful lifting your playfields. With the art blades on this game the playfield seem to fit very tight! You can easily damage your art blades when lifting your playfield. I highly recommend using some type of protection like what is pictured below to protect your blades.[quoted image]
I’ve been in and out of this game all day long and have been super anxious about messing up the art blades. This is exactly what I need. Where did you get those?
I haven’t had any ball hang up or weird airball things so far at all. I haven’t even heard a ball hit the glass during any game so far, and we’ve been playing the hell out of it since Wednesday night.
Quoted from psexton:Looks good. Does it hide the Chinese Restaurant sign too much?
It doesn’t obscure it at all.
I am sure the Pro is a great game. But I couldn’t own this machine without that building mech after having done so. The ball changing paths on every floor is just next-level good shit.
Quoted from RobbyIRL5:-I haven’t gotten all the way through it, but seems like there is a risk/reward system like GnR in that second column of monster fights called fight or flee. I got to it but of course drained as quickly as the pinball gods would allow (every time I’ve gotten there).
In the second column there are team-up fights. You can opt to fight or flee during those fights. It’s like the risk it option on AC/DC.
Quoted from VALIS666:Same here. I'm rescheduling my work now to have Friday afternoon off to pick up, set up, and play the shit out of it. I look forward to every new pin that comes through the door but I'm especially stoked for this one.
Speaking of picking up, I assume there's no harm in putting boxed pins on their backs? The "truck this side" side being the back, of course. I don't really want to unbox it at the distro. Normally my NIBs have come upright in box trucks, but I don't remember anything about them that would make this an issue. Heads are strapped down, balls and loose hardware are in the coinbox which is pinned to the coinbox clip, manuals/certificate are bagged and stapled to the inside wall, etc.
Put it on the Truck This Side Only side and it's fine. That's the bottom of the cabinet.
Quoted from Chetrico:Anyone else using their knee to charge the heat ray? Or their belly? Or what ever else is available?
chin
Quoted from WizardsCastle:When is mecha-Godzilla supposed to magnet grab the ball?
Haven't seen it once in the couple of hours I've played. I've started the MG multiball numerous times, bit no magnet action.
When you hit the jump ramp to either engage his shields or to start the multiball. But you have to drill it good to make the jump and catch on the magnet.
If you refuse delivery, they take the machine back and repair it. They don’t put it on a scratch and dent sale. You just get it repaired.
Quoted from NeilMcRae:Guys,
quick q - on the right side of the back box where the Stern Insider plaque is - how hard does it look to remove that? is it just a decal/sticker? it looks awful.
Neil.
It’s just a thick vinyl decal and it comes right off.
Quoted from beltking:I believe Godzilla prem and then Elvira 40th end of month.
Somebody around here said they already got their Elvira 40th the other day.
Quoted from beltking:Doubt that my guy said Nov 29th production on mine.
JohnTTwo reported getting his already, in the stupid Price Bubble thread.
Quoted from Mr68:FedEx just called and my LE should be here in about 2 hours. I have significant reading gaps in this thread and would appreciate any helpful tips on bulletproofing or things I should look out for. Thanks
Go ahead and call in your OSHA violation before you are blinded by the laser and can't find the phone.
Outside of that I encountered nothing to report in setting this one up - don't even have anything to take the glass off to remove any packing on the playfield. The few things reported have been remote and nothing you wouldn't notice.
My game is at like 6.8 degrees and the balls fall to the left flipper off the building roof. Weird that people are having such varied results.
Quoted from nicoy3k:I’m glad we agree then!
I think there is a reason why basically every game has the key inserts near the slings/flippers. Not a huge deal, just an observation. It’s combination of position, size, and wireform coverage that makes it awkward for me.
You have been bitching about this game since before it came out. Why did you buy it? Just to pick nits? Point made. Mark it zero and move on, dude.
Quoted from PinFever:Deleted post
Aren’t you just a perfect spokesman to pick up his slack. The consistently contrarian backed up by the wholly indecipherable. Brilliant.
There are some high risk/reward shots on this machine, particularly those to the right toward the scoop and toward the maser canon on the left. Those will rebound right SDTM on you sometimes, but such is the price of admittance to those kinds of shots. It does seem like some people are experiencing leveling issues where some things (i.e. multiball dump off building and reverse building shots) are going SDTM, also. Coupled with the already fast nature and rebounds that you get, I could see this being really frustrating. But I don't get any more frustrating drains down the middle or on the outlanes than any other fast paced game I own or have owned. It's not the friendliest game, and it requires nudging more than others, for sure. But compared to, say, TWD this game leans toward more forgiving. I would place it on a spectrum somewhere better than MET for ball times and less than SM. Somewhere around EHOH, maybe.
Quoted from John_I:I was discussing powder coating the other day with a friend who gets most of his games done. The basic concept that we agreed on is that you should always go for a couple shades lighter of the chosen color than you would at first think. The reason being that most game rooms are fairly dark even with the lights on. So basically any dark colors that look great when choosing on a computer screen or at the well lit powder coater's office will look almost black in a normal game room. The lighter colors will be visible and will show up much better.
This. I have learned this lesson for sure. You look at those color chips, or at examples of a color in daylight or under intense indoor lighting, and they show you one color - but get it home and it is far darker. Anything that just has a "hint" of color isn't going to show that hint in the darker gameroom setting. Go light.
If one of the screws that holds the facing of the building backs out, it can catch as the building attempts to go up and cause the motor to bind. I had that happen once. Tighten up all the little screws holding the building plastics in place, and see if that does anything.
Deadpool is on the calendar for August. Source: I saw the email to the distros. Well, at least the part about DP.
Quoted from radium:What did it say about JP prems
Didn’t look for that one, so I don’t know. I was specifically only looking for DP.
Quoted from gjm:Anyone know where to purchase the "TOHO SCOPE" magnet that applies over the top of the speaker?
Quoted from HoakyPoaky:I am beyond furious right now.....
4 months checking Stern website for Godzilla accessories......checking 4 times a day......waiting waiting waiting for them to be listed for sale.
Just saw they popped up on Stern's website this morning! Art blades, shooter rod, armor.........INSTA SOLD OUT
WTF Stern? Seriously?? Can't find them listed in stock anywhere.
If all of those accessories had actually hit stock, there would be people in here reporting having scored the stuff and linking to the site to purchase. The distros clearly just got links and graphics to put up on their own sites. Nobody bought anything yet because none of these things have even been stocked.
Quoted from Jeffswack:Take a look at two small screws on backside of building 2nd floor. Mine walked out after 50 or so plays and impeded movement. Used a right angle ratcheting screw driver to tighten back
Same happened to me, with a screw on the front of the building. Check for screws that might have backed out on the building facade.
The rust is not going to spread. Unless he lives in the Everglades without an air conditioner.
Rust is the new playfield dimple.
Quoted from atg1469:What exactly do these comet fire LEDs do?
https://www.cometpinball.com/products/fire-bulbs
Quoted from NightTrain:I'm thinking about going with Gojira. Green to gold metallic.
https://www.prismaticpowders.com/shop/powder-coating-colors/PPB-10264/gojira
[quoted image]
That’s cool.
Quoted from Johnbeatle:My left slingshot is going off randomly. Any advice on how to fix it?
Just widen the leaf a little. See the little flexible metal leaf tab that the rubber hits back on and flexes? There is a shorter, firmer one behind it, and when the front one flexes back and touches the back one, the circuit completes and the coil fires. Your leaf switch is touching together just from vibrations. You want to separate them a tiny bit. It doesn’t take much. Use something non-metal to spread them slightly. I’d usually just reach down and do it with a finger, but that’s kinda do as I say and not as I do, I suppose.
Quoted from Johnbeatle:I looked and I see it. Thanks!
Cool. There are two on each sling. Just see which one is the most closed.
Everyone should buy what they want with their own money, and be happy. Everyone else should quit worrying about what other people want and are willing to spend for their own hearts’ content.
Quoted from MUGEN_4_LIFE:I believe the replacements are definitely owed to me regardless of quality...
You want crap coilstops to put in your toolbox to replace the crap coilstops that break?
Well, we all have our hill to die on.
Quoted from gorgar007:Pls correct me if I'm wrong but there doesn't seem to be a way to 'blow up' Godzilla, right? I don't see any multipliers aside from 2x rodan. Points are mostly linear and start to stack up with longer play, is that close to accurate? Are all Elwin games similar scoring wise?
Blow up like kill Godzilla? You are Godzilla when you are playing.
I want the armor, but I want to install it on my LE. Has anyone seen it in person yet? Is it black or silver?
Those that have received their Flamin' Frames speaker lights, when did you order? Just trying to gauge where the orders are now. I put in on 2/7.
Quoted from chuckwurt:Change the gold for EL paper and report back with your findings. Thanks!
Well, I have to have this now.
Quoted from chuckwurt:Nothing could top GOT and TWD for me. This game is great though!!
Masochist.
Quoted from RussMyers:I'm going to say it again; why doesn't Stern put Tip N Tell on the outside of the box?
They cost less than 2 bucks in bulk.
That would have IMMEDIATELY alerted you that at some point it was on it side or upside down.
RM
[quoted image]
That machine was dropped straight down. In my experience most in the box damage is from either a fork spearing it, or from the box being dropped straight down (still strapped to the pallet). Tipped over or flipped usually results in glass explosion.
Quoted from RussMyers:OK, you are probably right on this.
What I am really curious about: how exactly does this scenario happen during shipping? The game is inside a box strapped to a pallet - how does it get dropped vertically downwards with enough force to do this type of serious damage? I obviously have no idea how stuff gets moved around by "professionals" during shipping.
I'm not being argumentative; I really want to know.
RussM
A lot of times the forklift driver slams it to the ground on the pallet. I've seen them fall off lift-gates straight down, too.
