Fish Tales: Original or Standard flippers? Post #5 in topic

Posted over 13 years ago by Outlane-Avoider – in Website ‐ Last reply over 13 years ago

My old FT had standard length flippers, and that was challenging enough. I have played other machines with the lightning flippers, and that small shortening of the flippers does make a lot of difference to gameplay. As you say ball times can be very short on FT, once that ball starts bouncing around off the slingshots, or dropping back down from the captive ball it often drains. That is part of how FT plays, it is a great manic fun game. I fully intend to own another one sometime in the future.

Well I thought WPT was a fun game but I put it on CL and as a HUO pin was suprised I got no offers or emails on it. Had it at $2500 but figured I'd take $2200 if someone made an offer. RFM seems to be moving faster in the lower 2k range and you never know now that the rights to future Bally/Williams pins are back in US hands maybe they finish the games that were never made. With the Nucore system I will say RFM sounds great!

I sometimes wonder how many machines I would own if I weren't so restricted by space. I often see good deals on pins I have never played, but there have been quite a few that I only passed on because of space. If there was enough room, I would have a grand lizard, high speed, taxi, back to the future, and a heavy metal meltdown to name a few. All of them were posted around $500, but the wife would have a fit if I started putting machines in the bedroom, living room and kitchen.
