Anyone have an idea of what the street price for the AFMR CE is these days? Do they go for the $6k or are there some deals out there?

Anyone have an idea of what the street price for the AFMR CE is these days? Do they go for the $6k or are there some deals out there?
Joined the club today after a long time waiting and searching! I now have a mint AFMR SE with Eat at Eddy’s mod, pinblades, alternate art backglass, lit trough and shooter lane and alternate apron art. Super happy with it so far!
My only issue is that the original owner did not install the head bolts and when I try to install them they get very hard to turn after about the first 1/4 inch, almost like they are slightly larger than they should be? Anyone else have this issue? I hate to try and force them to turn for fear of stripping the threads.
Quoted from Mr_Tantrum:Where are the pics?
My sincere apologies!

Before: boring green Martians. They look sad.

After: Exciting, much happier Martians!

Quoted from sonambulo:Cool work, they rock!
CGC should have done something like that with the AFM remake, at least in the LE's
Ps: would you paint my aliens if i send you?
I’d be open to painting some aliens if you want. The shipping would be expensive though.
Quoted from Only_Pinball:How much to paint a set of 4? I'd love to have mine done.
I have no idea. How about $50? You ship to me and I'll paint them and send them back?
Quoted from Mr_Tantrum:Those look great. I already have the Createx paints, so I'm more interested in your technique. Any pointers?
Sure, first I blocked in the main colors. I mixed a more yellow/green color for the highlights. I then used washes to bring out the details in the sculpts. After that was dry I went back over some areas with highlights to bring them back out a little. Last touches was just some detail work on the mouth, eyes, brains, etc.
Quoted from Mr_Tantrum:Of course it can! I'll need to practice before I risk it on my Big-O-Jiggly Martians.
Yeah, you can make a wash out of several things, on soft plastic stuff I wouldn't recommend anything oil based because I'd be afraid it would react with the plastic. I've had the best luck with pre-made water based washes. I like the stuff from Army Painter and Citadel makes good stuff too. I've painted miniatures and done plastic model kits for quite a while so I use them for that stuff mainly.
Washes settle down into the recess of a sculpt and darken those areas. They will also tint the overall model a little bit but you then go back over certain areas you want highlighted (on the Martians I did the waist area and any areas that would be hit a little more by the light) with the original color or a slightly lighter color to put the highlight back. For really detailed stuff like miniatures people will do 4 or 5 layers of progressively lighter highlights to really make things look realistic. I didn't do that here, too lazy!
Quoted from LTG:Hope you got the small topper board for it too.
LTG : )
Ruh roh, no topper board was included. I assumed it was part of the SE game. Is this a major problem or can I order it?
I’ve messaged the seller to see if he will let me have the one out of his game.
Got it, messaged the seller and am going to pick it up tomorrow evening. Crisis averted, thanks!
It looks like I might have to put in some blind nuts to mount the topper? I don’t feel any holes on the top of my backbox.
Does anyone sell the LED lights to light up the mini-saucers like on the LE? Is it even possible to upgrade this?
Quoted from Mr_Tantrum:I wanted to post some photos of the great work that Pinball_Gizzard did for me with the Martians. I was needing some model painting done form some of my JP dinosaurs, and since he had previously posted some pics of some of his fine work I made contact with him. I have four of Mick's Big-O-Jiggly Martians with the red LED eyes, and I thought my Martians deserved a little more love. The paint job is great, and took a lot of effort to make them look as good as they do. Thanks again, Pinball_Gizzard!
