Quoted from bitpatrol:What is your playfield number?
360
Quoted from whthrs166:So according to Doug all the LEs are done. Does anyone know if they have sold out?
There are still some available.
Quoted from Damien:For everyone who has formed the opinion that clear chipping is acceptable or par for the course in today's pinball world, we'll see how quickly your tune changes if chipping ever starts to form at the switch slots.
I just played a MMR that had some chipping starting at the switch behind the castle. If that opens up, that is going to be bad news!
We're only two years into these remakes...
Snap some pictures!
Quoted from Hoss_Coog:There are still some available.
I was just curious. I think its been a year to build them.
Random thoughts and kudos where kudos are do...Stern once made one of the best edge protectors in the world of pinball ... a custom cut stainless steel protector recessed inward to be flush with the playfield! I really wish more edges were done like this. Also worth noting, there are no signs of chipping on this 15 year old machine.
Quoted from bitpatrol:So this issue would show up right out of the box right?
Yep! I saw a game that was at the local dealer that had the same condition! Poor prep is what these guys are saying. If thats true it looks really bad on the manufacturer. If it is something related to the dry climate here in Colorado I would think that CGC would want to send that customer a pf just as a test to see if it happens to a pristine pf that has no issues.
Quoted from bitpatrol:Where do I get a picture of the remake playfield with the right colors?
http://www.hsapinball.com/HSA_PINBALL/hsa69afmcompare.html
Here are the original colors what the remake should have.
Quoted from Onwallst:Many of us aren’t having clear coat issues but other planking issues. Cliffy won’t fix anything.
I wish I could unsee these pics. Mine looks the same with whatever is going on here (grain/planking and the flesh tone orange). CGC replaced my plastics quickly, and I appreciate that. I complained about a cabinet issue and was pretty much told I'm too picky. I disagreed given the price but let it go and kept my mouth shut. I'm kinda pissed about the playfield. I'm not normally a NIB guy but I don't want to be complacent. Are we off base here expecting better or is this really normal?

Guys, these are 8K mass produced toys.
It is just too much to expect a quality build.
Quoted from Mike_J:It is just too much to expect a quality build.
I Hope not. But if this is the new standard of excellence, we need to make sure everyone knows it.
Quoted from adii:Are we off base here expecting better or is this really normal?
I would be sick about it had I spent this kind of money with PPS/CGC.
Quoted from adii:Are we off base here expecting better or is this really normal?
No Your not off base and if your playfield looks like that you should be pissed.

The wood grain is unfortunate, but plenty of modern playfields have it. LOTS of Sterns do. I'd chalk this up to bad luck of the draw.
The nude color screening error is a mistake - a pretty big one - and I'd ask for a replacement playfield since it was the wrong color screened and therefore is nude EVERYWHERE on the playfield the correct orange was supposed to go.
It seems buying a used game is the way to go. No mystery purchase! You go, you look, you play, you buy. If you get unforseen issues, Blame Yourself.

Agreed.
You then don't have to listen to the manufacturer's bull shit about how all of these defects are "normal".
Quoted from whthrs166:I was just curious. I think its been a year to build them.
No worries. Mine was delivered last week.
Quoted from bitpatrol:I'm not too good with colors... do I have the nude tone?
Nope. You have orange.
Here's a side by side comparison of just one place that color is used. If you have the nude mistake, it should be obvious since all places where the orange should be will be nude instead.
Quoted from PinMonk:Nope. You have orange.
Ok, good to hear, I don't need to start punching myself in the face and cry in the shower with my clothes on.

Solid as a rock.

Over the color of a pinball machine playfield?
Quoted from PinLen83:Solid as a rock.
Ooookay....but that's not where the cracking/chipping will show up first on a Dialed In...
Quoted from pintechev:Over the color of a pinball machine playfield?
Here in Canada, we have these things called comedy clubs, so yes, over the color of a pinball machine.

I’ll be in Ottawa next week. Cant wait to see some good comedy And hopefully some poutine!

Ok, please bring me a pinball related gift if possible.

I can’t fit a new playfield in my carry on. What would you like?

The poutine was incredible in Montreal! Walked 3 miles to get to this one place. SO WORTH IT

I went to school near the NY/Canada border and drove up for good food to Montreal and Ottawa all the time. I am so looking forward to some greats poutine.

I eat Poutine every weekend
Quoted from markp99:^This. I am thinking of aiming for the posts themselves. Maybe I'd hit more ramp entrances this way?
Pure genius!

New to owning a pinball, so each small step is a learning curve. I've had and sorted the left popper, pic, and ramp issues, so far so good. I've bought a full set of Cliffys, installed the two easy ones, moving target and ball eject, got four left to do. There are instructions on the website for the mothership and sol, so will do these, even if a bit daunted.
I can't see any info however on the lock and drain hole cliffy's, just wondered if anyone who has fitted these has any photos or advice?

I was actually the first one to use the lock Cliffy, as my game started chipping there first, and I contacted Cliff and helped him with sizing. He's amazing!
The easiest way is to get your hand in there, put the top in first, and then push on it until the bottom goes over the edge. It's probably better to wait until you're doing the spaceship Cliffy, as you have less in the way.
The drain will require taking the apron off, as we as loosening the ball trough so you can wedge it in. It's pretty straight forward once you look at it.

Here's a pic showing the lock location protector. By far the most important protector on my game, as I was getting immediate chipping at that location.
Not sure if everyone saw the other CGC thread, but Doug had an important message for AFMr owners:
——————
1. About a month ago we had several tickets that were opened with a concern of the AFMR auto shooter lane, whereby balls were not traveling all the way to the top. We have worked with those customers on a one-on-one basis in resolving these concerns. We are asking if there is anyone else out there that is having this issue, please open a ticket on our on our system and use the description on the subject line as “shooter lane” when establishing the ticket. Submitting a short video would be helpful as well.

This Play field looks terrible! I cant believe this is a new game. What is the update with this? You opened a ticket right?

I'm having an issue where the ball is often not shot up to the pop bumpers. It hits something and comes back the pop bumper exit.
Quoted from WhiskeyTango:I'm having an issue where the ball is often not shot up to the pop bumpers. It hits something and comes back the pop bumper exit.
You are having the issue he is talking about. Your launch ramp is causing your ball to jump up and hit the wire form at the end. You need to follow CGC's procedure on removing the launch ramp and bending it at the crease in the opposite direction (taking out the speed bump) so the ball doesn't jump up and hit the wire form. That is why it is not making it to the top.
Quoted from kapsreiter:i just ordered a LE
i am happy with my MMRLE
but sounds like a lot of quality problems on AFM LE ?!?!?
Some have adjustments to be made but not all.
