This is the coolest thing ever!!! do you have any for sale?

    #5754 8 years ago

Nah... As discussed in the other thread, I don't see how I could make it worthwhile with time and money I put into it, plus score reels are too hard to find and too expensive.
I'll think about it some more in a few weeks, maybe I can think of something...

Took that pic yesterday and liked it a lot.... Thought it'd be nice to share with you guys!

During sunny days? HOT! You know, summer is too hot in Rio, some days past 100o F, so I only get to go to the pool at night!

That's what I was thinking too. Is your pool heated?

Ok. You guys have some really nice spaces - so I decided to up my 'game' and up fit the basement. I am going for a lounge/bar room with a reef aquarium, home theater, and a large room for pins and pool. I am trying something new for the paint in the home theater - it is a brown suede look. I am hanging acoustic panels and want a nice look. I'll post more when I get further along. This takes a lot of time

Also, I think I would like to do black lighting in the pool/pin room - is that a bad idea?

Nope, but winter in Rio is not that cold..... weather temp never reaches below 60o F.

That's coming along nicely. With black light carpet my gr looks great, there's a bunch of cool designs out there. For padding I used 3/8 inch memory foam padding which also acts as a vapor barrier for the concrete floor.

Sounds exactly like my basement, which is currently under construction but much further behind than yours.

How big of a reef tank? I have a 55g in my living room currently, but the basement is provisioned for an 8' tank with a dedicated fish room for the life support system.

The sound proofing in the theater is what's holding up the wagon. I've attached enough decoupling isolators to the wall to sink a ship.

My low budget man cave. No bling, no fancy nothing. Ok actually I just pulled out my Bally games that were in storage for over 10 years.
Did a mock setup to see what it will look like when I redo the room this year. Most of them were bought as projects and haven't been touched except for the Xenon I recently got from jkashani.

No rush .. You have a great collection and all the time I try the world to work on them. Love them Bally pins.

    #5774 8 years ago

I didn't see anything in that room except some great pinball machines, nice space and collection, any room would look better with a pinball machine in it

Very slow progress here, but it's coming along. I've had an upstairs game room since 2010. This will be a dedicated first floor game room. It will have a dedicated pin room, work shop, den/bar area and full bath. It's 25x30 with a 10x30 porch. A 4' ramp will roll up from the driveway to the back door which will be the workshop entrance.

Cons: Wife said it had to match the house (cost of brick etc).

Pros: It matches the house (10 ft ceilings and other nice amenities). Wife says its all mine! The kids have a separate playroom, gym area etc in the house that won't mess with my precious).

Room looks cool as is. Maybe ditch the wood paneling but that floor looks awesome.

Sorry this topic is for game "rooms" not game "houses"! Seriously this is just awesome. You missed Pro - your wife gave you the go ahead on this! Your wife is probably right about the brick and style of the house though. You are a fortunate guy! Awesome!

Isn't it fun puttin nails into concrete.......BANG........BANG......BANG.

    #5788 8 years ago

Just some friendly advice, put the outlets behind the pins up high, 42-48 in. they will hide the power cord nicely. And, think in advance on where you might want to install neon signs; put those up at 72 in. which will hide those cords nicely.

    #5789 8 years ago

Rooms going to look nice once you are done.

I started my game room project about a month ago. It will be a 27x27 toy area with bathroom, parts closet, and kitchenette. It can't get finished quick enough.

    #5797 8 years ago
    Quoted from PhilGreg:

My girlfriend is sleeping so I don't want to turn on my modest pinball collection, but I'm sitting at my bar right now, to which I just added LED lighting behind the bottles, as learned from the almighty John Taffer, and I thought I'd share.
The bar was made with leftover wood from the living room floor.
Also on display is a vintage peanut machine given by a friend of mine which I semi-restored, and my Surf Champ Arduino clock project.
