One year we had three ties using standard points but the league was setup incorrectly so the "Home" team won the ties, instead of having bench points count. After that we switched to fractional points.

Hah-- Same here. TD-only league. 0-9 yards, 6 points; 10-39 yards, 9 points; 40 yards or more, 12 points. Double points for a QB or a WR running a TD or an RB catching a TD. You drafted a team for special teams/defense and you also only scored points when they scored a TD (kick-off or punt returns, interceptions, fumble recovery leading to a TD). Kickers got 3 points for 39 yards or less, 6 points for 40-49 yards, and 9 points for anything over 50. And that was it. You could easily keep track of your own score and the commissioner would verify everything using the paper the next day.
