I'm cooped up on a work related illness (unrelated to you-know-what) so can't really go out for a walk. But there were a LOT of people out for a walk on the trail today since we are close to 50 degrees for the first time in a long time. Lot of folks walking with their dogs and children. Late afternoon haven't seen anyone out for awhile now. Here's a back yard view.

If you look below you'll see a large container in my neighbors driveway.

Still light hazy smokey? Here in fallbrook ca, you could see bonsall in the far distance, if not for the haze.

The haze is making its way to Minnesota too. Bedroom window right now....

Here’s outside looking in last night. I saw something I wanted and took it home with me.

    Quoted from sixtyfourbits:

Nice! Can you expand on what happened? Did you just knock on their door and ask if they'd sell it?

It was a pre arranged meeting; just a good laugh to see the game when you drive up and still in your vehicle. It was worth the 2.5 hour drive one way. It was supposed to be not working but I’m just having reset issues which I haven’t put much time into....I think just a run out switch needs to be cleaned.

    Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:

Be careful with that. Around here you can get fined $1000.00 if caught burning anything other than leaves, limbs, yard waste in general.
No trash, lumber, etc. can be burned. (everyone still does).
Anyway the county seen a part piece of burned plywood on a neighbors burn pile and he received a $500.00 fine. They say lumber has been treated and puts off toxic smoke.

I just assumed a permit was needed to burn anyway in the cities. Heck someday we might need a permit to BBQ

It is. One of Wade's first GTB Knock Out playfields. Going to upload a couple pics soon. I had to send it off for touch up and clearcoat since it was one that experimented on, not one from his regular run. It was drop shipped there so today is my first time seeing it!

I barely made it over to pinballplusMN tonight and I didn’t have to leave my neighborhood and took me close to 1/2 hour. Didn’t feel like walking into Walmart with him so I’m looking out my window seeing more shopping carts parked than vehicles.

I tried getting a head start on snow blowing at my house earlier. Point the chute to the south, snow blows north. Point the chute to the north, snow blows south. Yeah winter is here.

    Is it Christmas there already?

No but it did snow the day these went up. Going to run these lights all year into the evening. Will shut off after sunset. Will leave on throughout the night on summer holidays.

They’ll stay on the tree forever and it’s cheaper to install them now than Christmas time when everyone else wants them hung.

Did some spring cleaning today. I was surprised to see some items sitting in my window bays that face north had quite a bit of sun damage so I got some UV cling stuff attached today. I mean I’d figure a little but with no direct sunlight, I better get protected since I have pins in the same room.

Figured I’d class things up with BoP topper from MustangPaul in my window . Hope the family next door appreciates it at night as much as I do.

I deliberately turn the brightness down to give it that silhouette effect.

    Quoted from littlecammi:

Did you cross over into the Twilight Zone during that walk?

I went through it in a way. There is a part of my back yard that TECHNICALLY the city is responsible for mowing but they do a super crappy half a** job at mowing it so I have somewhat adopted mowing it. However it does have sprinkler heads tied to my system so at some point someone thought it was theirs.

    Quoted from golfingdad1:

Funny thing is it looks like he is walking through a public park or something

My buddy Dave does graphical work for a living so he can get the proper vantage point. Immediately to the left of the picture is a whole line of houses and my house and neighbors is behind Dave.

Going down my stairs has two 90° turns which are tight and my fenced in hill is kind of crooked….so it’s actually easier to cart the machine to the end of my driveway, go around my neighbors and onto the public walking trail.

Actually JohnTTwo used to live a few houses away from me and he recently told me I can get a permit from the city to drive on the sidewalk. That’d be awesome.

Before and after. The “round”one fits the area better but the pedestal feet is in the center. Put any pressure around the edges and everything goes flying for those who aren’t aware. So off it goes back to the owner which is going back to the house I got this one.

Stupid phone won’t let me arrange pics now but the new one is the rectangle one.

I used to work with someone whose family owned a course. He taught me about what houses to look for if buying on a course (I was buying a house 6 years ago) which side of the fairway to be on, depending if it bends or not. Also reminded me things will change over the years if they mix it up. Balls through the Windows, into the siding and on the roof each have their own hassles. Based on your pictures you seem to be out of the way.

Both my phone and this fella were moving through the air when I snapped this. Had to straighten it out a little bit. Also zoomed in first before correcting so it didn’t turn out the best. Not bad for an iPhone SE

Here’s a random picture of the “safety feature” on my furnace. Supposed to shut power off to the whole system when the bottom panel is opened. I’m guessing it partly opened cause it usually flakes out the first time of the season I run AC or furnace.

Overnight it slowly cooked itself to the point one of the terminals worked its way loose.

Glad this was the only thing that got damaged.

Yeah they seem to do a whole lot of nothing. I’ve seen them most of my life but never cared to learn much more than knowing I’m quite safely away from them on the food chain. Looks like I’ll be investing in mole traps after all.

    Quoted from Coindork:

I used to shoot a lot of pool at this dive bar in Tustin California.
There was a cigarette machine by the pool table.
If the bar was really packed we would put a dollar in the cigarette machine and just hit the eject button and it would spit out 4 quarters.

I did this in college on a dollar coin machine. Once in awhile something really old would come out for some reason. Someone must have cashed in grandpas stash that got brought to the bank to fill the hopper. Every night after class I’d stick a $20 in. One in 3 times there was something worth saving. I have a small stash still here. Probably not worth much over face.

What’s funny is there were maybe 12 cars on the top floor at best. I partly understand why they parked the way they did. But for that reason, maybe park away from the door? Here is a busy day in the ramp and even then they could even double park far away from the door.

A lot of times when people buy a new car of any make they just park far away to prevent dings. Totally cool.

But parking close to the door and like this? Eh.

I dropped a pin on the spot in question.

I did have a breaker pop after 6 hours. It was one of those arc fault breaker’s and it had a freezer, World Cup, TZ (yeahhh) ToM and Fireball on it. 20A I thought. I don’t trust a TZ on a 15

    Quoted from DCP:

I read it as 91138 (start) and 91217 (end) for a total usage of 79 KWh. If you're paying 11.48 cents/KWh (average in MN), it cost you about nine bucks. Some of the best and cheapest entertainment you can find!!!

Heck yeah! Can’t put a price on all those smiles either. I always overdo things with snacks pop and beer anyway. I hate the idea of running out.

It was a great time!! Thanks for the invite…. Looking forward to the next open house already.
To answer the previous question, there was no tourney… just a fun party for all involved. But EJS, if you ever want to run a tourney, let me know. I could be the TD no problem.

If you want to run something definitely let me know and we can make it happen. We have 40 others in storage to choose from if you want. If springtime we could get the garage full too.

Here’s the mailbox. I’m definitely not laughing at him that easily could have been me by a few houses. I wonder if the city would help with cost of repairs. Anyone had this happen to them before?

    Quoted from littlecammi:

Snow plow destroyed our nice cedar mailbox and post a few years ago. I had seen where the community in which we live would replace such damage with a basic $25 box if you filed a claim. Not wanting to miss mail deliveries while waiting for their basic box, I replaced it with a more sturdy metal box and mounting post and filed a claim hoping to get $25 to offset part of the cost. A public works truck came by and the guy saw the new box already in place and informed me that their policy was to supply a new box only and no monetary payment, and since I had already purchased a new mailbox I no longer qualified for their cheap replacement. What a great policy.

Sheesh. What’s ironic is the box is probably ok but it’s the woodwork that needs help. With the price of wood $25 will probably cover the sales tax.

When my parents bought the house I was raised in, the city made them take out the post for the mailbox that came with the property. It was build so well it actually posed a risk on the 40mph road they feared the mailbox would win a fight against a car.

I’ve never seen a secondary blower motor on a furnace before. Anyway, helped a friend get it replaced as it died this winter. It feeds down into the floor to heat the basement. The feed from the furnace had the black wire connecting into the ground. That was emotionally challenging for me to tie together.

When I had a two car garage it was perfect in the middle of winter. Now with a 3 car and higher ceiling it takes several hours to bring up to temp.

Oh yeah, earlier today between storms I dropped off some yard waste. Next time I need compost bags I’m coming here and grabbing these. They aren’t cheap and everyone seems to use them once. I can get 6 or 7 loads per bag usually before they break open.

Minty fresh Flash caps. I wonder if there’s a 3rd in the cabinet. Talk about a positive spin on having the wrong parts installed
