We’re use to getting rain, but so much of it lately has taken out highways, roads, and big time flooding. Not my picture, but this is just north of the 49th parallel, the Washington State/British Columbia border, 1/2 hr from home! The 2nd pix is part of our main highway

Haha! I've really enjoyed everyone's guesses. Swimming pool. My wife was a life guard and competitive swimmer growing up and she's always wanted a pool. After years of sticking with the same jobs and kids growing up and moving out we finally had the money to build the home we wanted and a pool for her (pool house with pins for me).

    Quoted from GrahamStrong93:

My dad bssbllr passed away last week, a long tough battle with cancer most of you had saw in his posts… he fought till the very end. Been a tough week even tougher to get on here and post or read posts, but it’s actually made me happy, reading the things he wrote… I hope you all enjoyed his posts. He appreciated you guys on here and made his retirement, even though it was early and because of the sickness, much more enjoyable. I appreciate the friends he made on here and thankful he could help or talk to you guys. #GrahamStrong forever. I’m glad I could enjoy this site now the same way he had! And I’ll keep playing his pinball game, though he’ll forever have the high score!

Sadly I do not get to check all the Pinside Threads as regularly as I used to. I'm sorry to hear about your dad -- he was great to chat with back and forth here on the forum and we both had a fondness for our Dirty Harry machines. He would drive past my neck of the woods now and again (and post pictures as proof); he always tempted me with a visit but the timing just never worked out. The invitation is extended to yourself as I'm sure in terms of character I bet the apple does not fall far from the tree.

It may sound odd, but I'll probably always think of your dad when I see "Ashland" written across the bridge at my town's exit. That is the picture he would post from his drive by. Thanks for keeping us up to date with him and please join in on the forum now and again. . . Pinside is a big (occasionally disfunctional) family after all.

Thanks to the flooding in my area, I currently have waterfront property and am completely cut off. I'm up on a hill so I'm high and dry with enough food to be fine for a while yet.

This is taken from my driveway, where you see grass and weeds are the neighbors fields and the water went high enough after this picture that grass couldn't be seen anymore.

    P1030817 (resized).JPGP1030817 (resized).JPG

This is the slope to the base of my driveway, normally from here you can see the road...

    P1030819 (resized).JPGP1030819 (resized).JPG

Looking through the woods on my property it almost looks nice.P1030828 (resized).JPGP1030828 (resized).JPG

The river has crested and water levels are starting to drop, but we're still in the major flood category. It looks likely that I'll be able to go to town again by this weekend. Where I have some pins on location had a bit of white knuckle time due to concern about one of the dikes possibly weakening but fortunately it was fine. Sadly there a lot of people in the area that had it much worse and had homes and businesses damaged in the flood, my thoughts are with them and with the people up in BC who look like they got hit even harder than we did.

    #2768 2 years ago

Glad you're high and dry. Floodin' ain't no fun! We need to submit some stuff to the town this week for house raising grants. Should be able to post some interesting pics if that does eventually happen. We're in a split level. Ideally the main floor would be raised a few feet while the upper bedroom floor would remain the same. Addition space would be built on top of the main floor to replace the space lost from the ground floor. The ground floor would officially only be for garage and storage, flood insurance would no longer cover anything more than cleanup. The pinball room would go from the ground floor to the new top floor, I'd feel much better about them being up there.

I get them little greyer ones sometimes in the shower with me when it rains outside. The cleaning lady throws them out.

Walked past him a couple times during the night. When I got out of bed this morning it was nearly light and he scared me by dropping from head height onto the ground 2' in front of me. I didn't see him jump, but I sure heard him hit the concrete.

The stupid frog was back in exact same spot all night again. Must be living under the fridge.

He sat on the dark side of the line of light coming out from my bathroom door all night. Must get insects going through from his dark patch. It's hard to photograph.

The fridge door was hitting him in the arse at 4am when i was making coffee, he just moved an inch and then went back to hunting even when i stepped over him a few times.

If your going to park like a #2 I’m going to park by the 3 and I have a crew cab F150 that I don’t own so I’m not afraid if it gets scratched.

Parking that dude in is totally acceptable. Zero chance he didn't see the no parking signs - he just assumed purchasing a porsche allotted him the immediate ability to be an asshole.

That's just inviting people to key your car.

    #2796 2 years ago

What’s funny is there were maybe 12 cars on the top floor at best. I partly understand why they parked the way they did. But for that reason, maybe park away from the door? Here is a busy day in the ramp and even then they could even double park far away from the door.

A lot of times when people buy a new car of any make they just park far away to prevent dings. Totally cool.

But parking close to the door and like this? Eh.

I dropped a pin on the spot in question.
