    Quoted from JeffF:

Generator has been through it's paces over the last 20 years. LOL. Was thinking about upgrading but haven't pulled the trigger yet. This may give me that push to do so.

Generac used to run commercials on whole house generators that started at $1,999.00 but that was before COVID. Not sure what they are now but I did hear they had a 5 month backlog on them.

I still find it funny to see people plant palm trees in Vancouver..how they survive, I dunno..
    [quoted image]

A neighbor of mine has a few large palm trees in his yard here in St. Louis. Every winter he builds scaffolding around them covered with heavy plastic and has heaters installed inside. They have been here since we moved in 36 years ago.

Bleeding Hearts in Bloom. Beautiful spring flowers but they don't last long.

Looks like I’ve been bringing the outside in with me. My air exchanger. Might need to tag this one NSFW

I had some around the house I told my brother and a friend of his was doing the yard work and pulled them up thinking they were weeds.

Also had one of the solid white bleeding hearts they are good looking too. Yes I do have a green thumb.

8 years ago, I had a garden full of lily’s my dad thought he would do me a favour and cut my grass. He thought they were weeds! No more lily’s! The ex went crazy over it!

Pretty harsh to sell your own brother over flowers.

Frankly it worries me as I am correcting a lot of my posts lately and I have my glasses on.

There are a few varieties that aren't native to tropical climates. I've got one that tolerates the Florida heat, but doesn't really thrive in it. I think those are Chinese Fan Palms.

I think the current $1999 model now runs some of the house.

Nah just grabbing a parking spot on the roof, 9 stories up. All my work is done inside which is great in the winter, sometimes a disappointment in the summer

    [quoted image]

We have quite a few red tail hawks around us. Every once in awhile I'll see one on the power lines and realized they're a pretty good sized bird.

I finally spotted the eagle that lives down the road from us yesterday, somewhat unusual in my neck of the woods. Knew where the nest was for a year or two, but hadn't seen him. This year tho, he's been dive bombing the pond, snatching up fish, flying across our yard, and enjoying his meal in the field behind us. Flew right above me last night, but I didn't have the camera. Darn! I'll definitely post up a picture if I'm lucky enough to snap one.

I used to manage Boblo island condominium. There is a pair of breeding bald eagles. They were the coolest things to see! They were in A tree near the boat dock so every time I went there I would make sure to have a coffee and watch them tend to their babies! One of the coolest experiences of my life! No wonder they are the symbol of America!

Just a word of WARNING. A friend of mine a few years ago starting talking about Redtail hawks and how he was in Indianapolis on the southside and watched this Redtail hawk come down and just snatched this cat (size was somewhere between a kitten and a full grown cat) from a alley and just carried it away. I'm sure a puppy would be within it's weight limit too so I would keep an eye out just in case. But frankly it's coyotes that I would really be worried about they are everywhere even in the cities.

Oh yeah, earlier today between storms I dropped off some yard waste. Next time I need compost bags I’m coming here and grabbing these. They aren’t cheap and everyone seems to use them once. I can get 6 or 7 loads per bag usually before they break open.

Got an early start on planting the cherry tomatoes this year.
Normally I procrastinate and things do not get in the ground until Mid May or June.
My wife loves her cherry tomatoes.
She wanted some on the back deck so she does not have that far to go to water or pick them.
    20220424_163954 (resized).jpg20220424_163954 (resized).jpg
Cheated a bit by buying larger initial plants.

Going to plant 6 more tomato plants in far back yard where we have some raised beds,
along with pumpkins and melons and cukes,
maybe plant a few rows of radishes and carrots too.

I'm going to use this as a vent. I FUCKING HATE IRRESPONSIBLE ANIMAL OWNERS.

The fuking moron across the street has a St Bernard who has a bummed leg. Surgery is 4k. Doc says to take it easy but this fukin dubass has his bitch and roommate running him twice a day. Now the dog either has his leg amputated or the fuker is putting him down. Just got back into town today and heard they're putting him down. I want to kick his door in and cave in his face. Now my wife and I are going to adopt him if they'll give him to us. We're so fukn pissed off. Emotions all over the place. That mother fuker better not put him down. Next post I might be in jail.

Eh, it might not have been the RIGHT thread, but I wouldn’t say it’s the WRONG thread. I think pretty much everyone here can feel your anger and is also angry to hear this. But good on you for stepping up.

Wife is on the phone with the owner. Hopefully good news. I'm beyond it now. I'll cave that mother fuker heads in happily and spend a night the pokey over it. Distressing it now on a game of breakshot
