I don't mind it. I remember when I was a kid my schoolteachers use to tell me to spit out my gum and trains would tell me to "choo choo".

this is as big a tree frog as i've seen.

Been awhile since I've been down your way. Ever have any issues with Cane Toads? They are a nasty invasive species from what I remember.

A couple pics of the locals from this morning. The buck was limping a bit. . . probably from doe rejection vs. a missed shot/hunting this time.

Dunno if they are down this far regularly, i spose so though. I thought i saw one this morning in my kitchen six foot away from the tree frog who was there all night for the third night running.

The flash both scared the little brown and yellow frog and failed to illuminate him, so i haven't got a good pic. I don't think he was a toad anyway, it was dark at 4am when i was making coffee.

Fucked around with the brightness, but this is as good as it gets, that's my kitchen cupboard. Inconclusive.

I know you guys aren't allowed to take the girl skinny cows, but i bet they are the tasty/tender ones.

If your going to park like a #2 I’m going to park by the 3 and I have a crew cab F150 that I don’t own so I’m not afraid if it gets scratched.

And it's not even a nice porche. Not that you should park like a dick anyway. I like leaving notes under windshield wipers that say you are not that important

Many states have a doe season, depending on deer populations.

He looks like a pretty old deer.
When they start getting up there in age their nose gets more rounded off (rather than pointed), also the antlers get heavier at the base and start to recede in height compared to previous years.
His neck is all swollen up, so for sure he's in the rut.
Looks like he's got a broken tip on his left G3, probably from scrapping with the youngsters over the ladies.
We've got a little bachelor group of young mule deer bucks that hang around the property.
I'm always happy to see them they following year and seeing that they made it though the season.

Getting 35 mph and greater winds here. While walking the dog lucked out when I heard snap and a smallish branch fell and missed me.

I work in the sugarcane industry in North Qld Australia. Saw your comment and went out the back of the office. We have this monster cane toad preserved. Easily 20cm long and probably 30cm fully extended legs.

The grub in the last picture is the greyback canebeetle larvae. These nasty beasts chew the roots of the sugarcane and cause massive losses. The cane toad was introduced to eat them, but didn't do much of a job, so they are hopping around everywhere. I go outside our back yard at night, and easly find 10-15 of them on the lawn. We do also have some massive green tree frogs though which are great!!
