They should sell t-shirts.
Quoted from Atari_Daze:Figured while I was flushing my brake fluid, might as well scrub the calipers.

Still look decent for being 185k miles old.[quoted image][quoted image]
Has your dash turned sticky yet?
Quoted from mcluvin:Has your dash turned sticky yet?
No, and it's parked outside.
It is a 2012, did have to replace the headliner about a year ago.
What era dubs have dash issues?

2000 Golf and 99 Beetle. They both had it bad. I kept them a long time. I had to do the headliner on both of them too. Now a 15 year old Toyota Corolla and 10 year old Honda CR-V? No sticky dash whatsoever or drooping headliner.

FUKU-Ramen!
There used to be a Chinese place up the road a bit. House of Wang! We would always laugh when we drove by and it never got old. On the sign below the name it said “We Close Tuesday!”
Sadly after many years the House of Wang is no longer open.
I just got done mowing the yard and doing other yard work. It’s 90 degrees and humid as F today!
Time for a shower, some ice cold beers and pinball in the dark cool game room.
Four more kinds of sunflowers opened up this week. The orange Mexican Sunflowers are one of my favorite varieties. Lots of small blooms and they keep growing and blooming for 30-40 days.
I got the life size concrete bulldog at Lowes last year.
Couldn’t resist it for only $25.
Here is a pic looking north from our family room. Past the fields, we are just a mile or so south of Canada and that line of low trees is actually in Canada. Unlike our southern border, we have a great relationship with our northern neighbors and enjoy picnicking (is that the correct spelling?) across the border. The border is secured by a massive 1 foot deep ditch between the countries allowing for families living on both sides to talk.
Here is a pic of our border, this is true its about a mile from me. Canadian Zero road is on the left and US E. Boundry Road is on the right. https://kgmi.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/70/files/2020/08/AP_090721033497-scaled.jpg
And here is one of the local families having a picnic across the border: https://332y2620ed2r2nv2m5pbphm1-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/21506957_web1_23190039-1024x683.jpg

I just crossed the border last Friday after work, and drove thru part of that beautiful town. It’s just so quiet, and a nice break from my daily grind. I even found myself, outta curiosity, checking some real estate there and Birch bay..I’ve always liked the border towns in Washington State

There are various types of surveillance that occurs along Zero Ave, including air coverage. Mostly on the American side. Thankfully our countries can be proud of having the longest undefended boarder in the world. There are parts of the border which are the yellow center line on the road. The library in Quebec that has the border going through it.
I'm super happy. Just found out the town found some extra money in the budget and is paving/asphalting our 3 block street this year!!!! It will be so nice to have our windows wide open and everytime that a vehicle passes by we won't have a huge dust cloud flying at the house

It's paved. Just patchy and the side roads they fully graveled a few years back. They have no curbs

These guys are in my backyard daily, ate all the apples, moved on to the pears. (This was a little while ago)

What are those guys in the black doing on the roof across the way - looks like some James Bond sh** going on over there.

I saw that and at first thought it was 'erbs drying for doobies.
But no, it's a tragic story of love betrayed and hopes withered over decades ending in a lonely death.
Quoted from Birdnest:Calzones for supper
That looks like a body wrapped for a funeral pyre.
Quoted from LTG:Looks like a Garter Snake.
LTG : )
Seems like the only snake we have here
Quoted from EJS:Someone’s all grown up or at least on their way. Average size in MN is smaller…in my findings.

Exactly! He’s welcome to hang out here as long as he’d like to. I’ll never shoo em away.
Only problem is my turtle eggs are due to be born soon so hopefully there isn’t any conflict. I can’t imagine trying to eat such a shell.
Quoted from dirkdiggler:They're more sweet then sour so perfect for snacking.
Most of the cherries sold in markets here in the NW are black cherries,
maybe occasionally some Rainer cherries (red/yellow).
Rarely have i seen such bright red cherries.

Agree, those look like Marchino cherries they're so bright red. What king of cherries are they? I want to try some! I've never seen cherries so bright red like that. I thought they were cherry tomatoes when I first saw them.
After doing some googling I think they're called Prarie Cherries or a Dwarf Sour Cherry. Developed at the U of S in Saskatoon in 1999. They're tart but sweet.
Before Ritchie Bros bought out Kramer Auctions I would buy a couple truckloads of various plants, trees and shrubs cheap and sell them to locals each year. I'll snap a pic of the tree when I head out later
Quoted from Birdnest:Here is our woodpile garter snake - he has been around for the last 2 years - not sure if he has a burrow under the wood for the winter

Maybe a gopher snake.. unless there's more than one type of garter snake. Ours definitely don't look like that tho!
Quoted from dirkdiggler:Opened my garage door and this little fella hopped in. Haven't seen a frog in years
[quoted image]
Frogs are all over the place here. I live next to a pond. The bullfrogs get loud every night, and sometimes they are having a ball in the daytime also.
Every now and then I also have to scoop a flat one off the driveway.
I would never run over one on purpose, I wonder why they don't get the hell out of the way?
I cannot see them, but they have to see that big tire headed towards them.
Quoted from Dee-Bow:Maybe a gopher snake.. unless there's more than one type of garter snake. Ours definitely don't look like that tho!
20+ types of garter snakes in US and Canada. The San Francisco garter snake is IMO the best looking but sadly endangered.
