Quoted from Blackjacker:

I’ll take one. Need more plastic in my life.

Got you on my list. 2 more.

#3152 3 years ago
Quoted from zaphX:

Ok so cybevenom and I have started talking about how this will work.
There will be a single batch of 25 units of which I am taking two, leaving 23 slots (the list is almost full here.)
I am buying the lot from him directly, then will resell them to the list members for cost+shipping.
I'm intentionally not making a profit on these sales.
I don't know pricing yet but will update when I do.
My preferred mechanism of payment is Apple Pay (built into iMessage) so if you have an iPhone that's ideal.
I don't take PayPal, period. Sorry, but I don't trust them with my bank account.
If you can't use Apple Pay we'll figure something out (mail me a check or something.)
These will be US only.
It's clear there is a demand for this product so hopefully someone who deals in custom plastics for pinball (looking at you PinballLife!) will run with this.

I am in. Thank you for taking the lead on this! Just PM me with payment and shipping instructions. I have Apple Pay available.

ZaphX, I’m Canadian as well, if you have to erase me from the list I understand. But if there are more Canadians on the list and you’re able to do something about the shipping, just send one envelope to me, and I’ll take care of my fellow Canadians from here.

Ah sorry buddy. Yeah I really don't want to mess with international, just acting as in import destination for US people as I can send them back out with relatively low pain.

If there are enough Canuks interested, you can send the Canadian to me here in CA if you want and I can relay them up, then Rolls-Royce can distribute. I'm willing if you want to and there's enough interest.

Thing is, I'm not sure cybevenom wants to make a ton of these, though he has agreed to make 25. Might be a great PinMonk product?

I can easily make them, but I didn't want to step on any toes.

So make them, or relay a Netherlands shipment to our neighbors to the north, either way I'm willing to get them taken care of.

Don't worry about my toes. I wear industrial shoes with a steel toe. Feel free to make them. For me it is about getting an irritating frustration out of everyones way. I will send you my state of the art drawing with measurments if needed which i drew on a piece of paper.

works for me. Just put my order of GnR fan arctic cooling fan kit in the next shipment out. hahahah. My machine is getting hotter when summer kicks off.
Knowing the pinmonk stamp will be on there guarantees quality as well. Mine is just a simple homebrew then. I get satisfaction out of the fact that i thought up a good sollution.

I am still shipping out domestic backorders of the redesigned GnR Tibetan Breeze kits, but once I'm sure that it fixes the issues I had with the initial design, sure, I'll send you one. You should receive something for your innovation. I'll pm you for your drawing/measurements.

I have allready ordered and paid my fankit in the first batch you put online. I was just kidding about getting it here soon. I don't want to cut in line. I appreciate it alot you are willing to this for everyone. Quality is assured as well with you. Just seeing how serious you take your business and the time you put in QC like with the arctic set is just wonderfull.

Just made my own today. Really easy to do. The wife was heading to Home Depot so I told her to grab one of those wall corner strips. Balls can’t fit through now. One nut to remove and slap it on.

Things just got a whole lot easier on my little shield mod. Pinmonk wil be making them so everyone, domestic or international, can order them via his store. I gave him alll the info en measurements so it should pop up in his store in the near future. It also gives me a bit more piece of mind because with Pinmonk Quality is assured as while my version works for me it still is this thing i just whipped up on the fly at home. So my advice is when he puts them up on in his store to get them while they are hot. It will save a lot of frustration.

It would be nice if PinMonk would make them available to those of us on the list prior to unleashing it to the masses on his website/store.

This mod is so easy to make, it’s ridiculous. The plastic strip I bought was $2.50 and took me 10 minutes to whip up. Give it a shot guys!

Thanks NightTrain for the pictures and deets on this fix. Definitely a DIY.

#3177 3 years ago

For sure. Sorry my pics are sideways. You get the idea!

Played a few hours since the install and watched it save a ball twice. Awesome!

#3178 3 years ago

Finally got #188 up and running. Updated the original 1.12 to 1.21 VERY smoothly, and at just under 24 minutes from start to READY TO ROCK.
Spent my first two hours just shooting at anything and everything, and that was fun enough. Looking forward to getting into rules and strategies in a couple of days time. First jjp for me. Definitely a keeper. (This coming from a guy who has never once in 15 years sold a game.)

Thinking of adding these to the topper somehow, perhaps rearrange their order. But I love these little Gibson slashers. Otherwise, as originally planned, they’ll get their respect somewhere in the room, around the game.

Those are pretty neat. Maybe a bit much on top of the machine.

Take that towel off the game! That play field is a work of art. It’s like covering up the Mona Lisa!

Yeah, I'm on it. The plan is to go with 1/8" PETG so it will be durable, and I'm going to initially try having the screw for the post with the circular plastic go through it instead of cutting around it so the part's secured on both ends.

I'm not sure I'd go that route. I was going to do this as well. You have to remove that entire left side plastic to get to the nut on the bottom of the plastic. When you remove the nuts on the left side, they screw on the bolts that actually slide into the Hot Rail. Lining those bolts back up inside the Hot Rail, with the holes in the plastic, would be a pain in the ass.

Maybe I'm missing something. Take a look at it and let me know what you think. I just decided to go the route of cutting out a notch for the post. The ball would only ever hit the protector from the one side, so I didn't think it would be necessary to have it secured in two points.

That's what test fittings are for. It *seems* like just removing the two nuts on the bottom end of the plastic should give you room to lift the plastic and get a needlenose plier under to hold the nut and move the post up enough to slide the bracket under. I have no problem with iterating until the best solution is arrived at.

#3190 3 years ago

Yeah I thought about that too. Didn’t want to damage the plastic though.

Having the bottom right sensor on the Headstock of the guitar registering ever few minutes. I went in and did the recalibration (start button) even though the machine is set to auto recalibration but still is happening.
