So who thinks in ten minutes time (it’s always noon in Chicagoland when jjp post their updates) we’re going to get the news we’ve all been waiting for?
Quoted from Skyemont:Why 10 minutes? Was it suppose to be 1pm?
I’m in Israel, and their posts are always at 8pm here which i thought was noon that side....but then we had the daylight savings change everything so i guess i was off by an hour :-p
Quoted from player-one:We were offered 5k over for ours, but we aren't selling ever. I agree that many who would pay 13k would just as eagerly pay 15k or maybe even 20k for a desirable machine. Even those of us really into pinball didn't hesitate to pay the list price, which is a lot of money for a pinball machine - with many many more who wanted to do the same but missed out. From the poll in the other thread, 155 of us here are buying the CE. I agree that, down the road, they probably won't be commanding 20k+, but I don't see the CE ever re-selling for less or even close to the original price. IMO, the only way it doesn't hold all of its value and them some is if you wound up paying 20k for one.
Anyone know how many of the 500 are staying in North America?
Keep in mind that in Europe, where the majority of the export machines are going, (minus the uk and oz) there’s the 25% tax bringing a CE to 18k EUR. This would mean even less units sold for the “original u.s msrp” and less to go around for the “sane price”.
Anyone else contemplating if to stay here until their game arrives, or leave and return only after unboxing their own CE? Been living here for three months now, but on the other hand I’m thinking I have to leave something as a surprise for unboxing day. What to dooooo????
Quoted from meSz:Keep coming back as it's good to follow those unboxing their machines. They will provide any issues or helpful stuff that will benefit you once you get your machine. If you decide not to follow till you get your game, once you come back there will be hundreds of post. If you're like me you wont read back through all of them so you could miss out on some helpful info!
I think I can just stay away from videos that’s good enough
Guess what I replied. I’ll figure it out myself. ;-p
I recall Lloyd referring me to a page in the manual where it explains switching between 110 and 220v - mentioning it was pretty much straight forward.
PS - This can be an indicator for you EU customers waiting on your CE’s, they’ll probably be on the line in a months time.

Here is my post from that game conversion from 220 to 110.

Thanks, do you have a link to these? Haven’t been able to source them?thnx
Quoted from Vitty:Having owned an SE first the CE(even without topper speakerbar) is much better and very very good! With the speakerbar topper the audio is crazy for a pinball machine. Plenty loud and plenty clear. To be honest, I think the audio without speaker bar is every bit as good if not a notch above my stern LEs.
The sound system is different between se’a and le/Ce’s? I know it’s like that with stern but didn’t realize this was the case with jjp, other than the sound bar on the ce.
Quoted from zaphX:Took a quick peek to make sure it's all intact. Have to stop until after work when my wife can spot me escalera-ing up the stairs.[quoted image][quoted image]
Is that signed on the coin door? Hard to tell but it’s the only place I can think of other than the apron. Mine has one too, i just have to wait to see it in person and find out where.
Game leaving factory today. Never mind the 30 day boat ride ahead, I’m excited enough it will be here for my 40th at the end of March. And if one of these bad boys wasn’t enough, theres a factory-find hobbit playfield and plastics, plus some GNR merch - to go with the pallet.
2021 is lookin bright already.
Quoted from Antron77:Yep I just had a feeling they came in. Pulled up to the shop moments after they were delivered and threw mine right into the back of the van. Check all the pinned topics for the adjustments on this thread. Mine had every single one of them that needed to be adjusted. Especially the diverter issue unless you want it to eat a chunk out of your playfield.
Quoted from Charger68:420 in the house here
Want to switch plaques for CE #188 when mine arrives? I’m a big pothead, would love 420
Quoted from Charger68:It gets alot of laughs. Im gonna hang on to it.
Quoted from kermit24:I have a hard time believing a CE owner doesn’t have access to a computer. Funny shit right there.
Why have wifi if no computer? All that setup when you could just be using your 4 or 5G network if all you got is a mobile? Typing this on an iPad with no sim option lol
Quoted from kermit24:My understanding is that if you have 1.15 - 1.17 WiFi updates won’t work again unless you update to 1.18 via USB. Then WiFi will work for subsequent updates.
I was joking about the having no computer comment. If you can’t use a usb because you don’t have a computer, why would you have WiFi in the house. ;-p
Just got my call. Tomorrow is the big day for ce#188, serial #52.
Yes, a game that came off the first or second week of ce production is only now reaching its final destination. The gnr forum pages on pinside have made the wait bearable, I may even miss the waiting period on this title.
Quoted from LTG:What a great day ! Have fun.
LTG : )
About to have a go at the 110-220 challenge
Quoted from meSz:Box looks in great shape for the distance travelled! Congrats n enjoy!
meSz you have no idea! Chicago-Florida then back fla to ny... and the boat, it stopped at every port along the way packed amazingly.
Finally got #188 up and running. Updated the original 1.12 to 1.21 VERY smoothly, and at just under 24 minutes from start to READY TO ROCK.
Spent my first two hours just shooting at anything and everything, and that was fun enough. Looking forward to getting into rules and strategies in a couple of days time. First jjp for me. Definitely a keeper. (This coming from a guy who has never once in 15 years sold a game.)
Thinking of adding these to the topper somehow, perhaps rearrange their order. But I love these little Gibson slashers. Otherwise, as originally planned, they’ll get their respect somewhere in the room, around the game.

Take that towel off the game! That play field is a work of art. It’s like covering up the Mona Lisa!
Hahah this was during the days my game was waiting to be turned on after i toasted the varistor. Cover will serve its purpose, my games can sometimes stand untouched for weeks at a time
Quoted from Trojanlaw:Hey folks - I like the look of the LE Topper a bit more than the CE Topper but I held off doing anything because I didn’t want to lose the total coordination with the light system that’s already built into the CE Topper. Low and behold, the plastic for the LE Topper can easily be switched out
Without losing any of the light show coordination. In fact, The light show is far more apparent and noticeable with the LE Topper plastic in place. I think it looks great. Just thought I would post in case anyone was wondering. All you replace is the plastic. The bracket and all lighting remains exactly where it is now. Takes less than one minute to change it out.
[quoted image]
I was def wondering if it would be with considering. Can you post a short vid of the lights in action?
