Quoted from Pinball1987:

Anyone know what size nut I need. This is why the pop up was not flush, They never put a nut at the end
[quoted image]

dunno prob 8-32 or 10-32, but I'd get one of these to have at the house for situations like these - save you lots of time when you drop a screw or nut and lose it: https://www.titanpinball.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=58&product_id=73
and while you're at it, I'd get their magnet tool and flat wrench. https://www.titanpinball.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=24&product_id=83 https://www.titanpinball.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=24&product_id=152

Quoted from Pinball1987:

Has anyone bought the full titan kit for this game ? I just got mine and this is what I was sent. It seems there are way too many of the smaller rubbers which have no place to go and did not come with any post rubbers. It came with the three flippers not shown in the picture. Is this normal?
[quoted image]

It could be the thing with these ring kits is they are user submitted. So guy could have decided he didn't want or need post rubbers and possibly ordered some extra post rings. Whenever I buy a ring kit from the database I always check against the stern manual, which also unfortunately is not always complete either. I usually double check the game against the manual and order a few extra.

Quoted from MiniPinHead:

Can you decrease the pitch of your game a little bit to help with this?

That never helped when I had the problem on AIQ. I'm pretty sure it's fixable by flattening the crease in the ramp flap, I'll get to it this week sometime.

Quoted from AMartin56:

There is a opto that counts helicopter revolutions. At least on the Premium.

Right, and premium only. It doesn't score much and it doesn't directly play into any modes, but it does factor in to the modes that count something per-switch, particularly Invalid Frenzy and Pteranodon Attack.

#19104 7 months ago

Is it a regular thing to buy an entire titan kit (expensive to us mortals) without knowing what you're buying AND for a brand new game with brand new rubbers? I am the KING of replacing shit that doesn't 100% need replacing but buddy...that's past my threshold.

That’s annoying , I was going back and forth with titan about the posts and other rings. Then was given the link to buy the full set for the game. Thinking the posts are included since that’s what I was mainly talking about with the owner. Well I emailed him saying this kit is not full and has a lot of extra unneeded rings. I trusted they had the correct rings in the kit otherwise I would have just bought what I wanted individually.

I never buy kits. I always build my own based off the game, plus extras for some areas. Kits are often wrong.

For me it is. A full set of replacements with a few extras is 50-75 bucks. These are 7k plus games, you are not a mere mortal if you are buying pinball machines.

Black rubber gets the playfield and everything in the game dirty faster and it gets all over things. Titans don't. They also add some nice color pop to your game. People put so much junk in these games, replacing the standard rubbers is an upgrade well worth it to me.

Also, promo code buffalo, will always get you 10% off your order, you can thank the buffalo pinball podcast for that.

Quoted from Pinball1987:

I like these how long did it take and on the site it’s showing them as blue. How did you get the orange color ?

They sell the blue or the sunset version. You can ask them for the color you prefer. I went with the blue one for my last two machines.

#19109 7 months ago

Just so I understand, as I've never heard this before...you are saying that the black rubbers that come OEM actually leach onto the ball and playfield and dirty up things?

One more thing. Is there suppose to be a rubber on this. Mine did not come with anything.
[quoted image]

My JP came the same way as yours (small steel post w/o any rubber at the bottom of the right out lane next to the shooter lane). My GZ game also has this same steel post w/o rubber. On both games I covered the post with a short piece of flexible clear tubing (ID was just enough for a tight fit). Doing this saves the ball from another small nick in it from occasionally bumping the steel post.

Quoted from Kkoss24:Alien is leaving for Texas Tuesday All good though ,We really wanted this and I can see why so many people say it’s the best game ever made .

I personally wouldn’t say that, but more power to you!

This is and has been a normal thing for decades...I have picked up many machines in the wild that looked horrible on the PF from black rubber. Turns out that this rubber on the pf protected these playfields over the years. Go figure

Do you have a link to what you used? Assume a stock post rubber would make the outlane too tight?

The second stock picture of these looks awful, with the orange skyline of the blades paired up with the blue skyline of the back board. Better stick with blue if going for these (they do look nice).

Did you look to see if it was on the bottom of your cabinet? Take the coin tray out and look in there, too.

If it’s gone, take the one off another up down post assembly and put it in a ziplock bag. Bring it to Home Depot and match it up. Worst case, HD doesn’t have it in store and they’ll do free shipping for the part. Should be an 8-32 lock nut: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-8-32-Zinc-Plated-Steel-Keep-Lock-Nut-4-per-Bag-800618/204281837

But might be 6-32 or 10-32

Here is my full ring kit for JP Premium/LE. This kit includes just 1 extra post sleeve (green) as an alternate for the post near the upper flipper if you want to match the flipper rubber. Compare your kit to mine and you'll see what you have that is extra and what you are missing.

I do know the Pro kit is different (not as many posts, I think).

Do yourself a favor. Buy superbands for the posts. Anything less will probably wear out quickly. Ask me how I know....

I love the way they look in my machine and match the sunset color on the cabinet. I also love the blue ones as mark has. Different strokes buddy.

Lol. I'm amazed at how dirty both my new Sterns were after a few hundred plays, perhaps that's the answer.

It really is a matter of taste. The Wiz blades come in Sunset and Blue-Sky variants for that reason. The backboard tends to be blue tones, and the cabinet tends to be sunset tones. So you have to choose one 'vision' for the sideblades, or choose something from another sideblade vendor that has a different look and feel altogether. Remember, your machine, your choice on aesthetics/cosmetics/mods, etc

(Don't forget to PLAY the machine!)

#19125 7 months ago

I didn't and haven't seen one available. The blue wasn't my thing because of the sunset on the sides. You don't have to like my setup. I'm ok with that. Lol

If Pinball1987 was to get the orange sunset side blades for his Pro, I would just change the lighting of the back board to have more orange accents to blend it with the sunset side blades. Just my two cents. His cab doesn't have the sunset theme to match up with, so I'd just go blue and be done with it.

#19128 7 months ago

Good information here, if I go with the wiz I’ll get blue to match the back.

If anyone is looking for JP Stern side armor to do powder coating, Pinball Life has "seconds" in stock at a pretty deep discount.

Solid idea

It took owning these to realize that the special armor with two distict colors aren't two powder-coated colors, but one powder coat and the other from foil cardboard tape onto the backside after powder coating.

Great example of what this armor can look like when done up nicely: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/i-can-powder-coat-your-pinball-armor-for-29500-plus-return-shipping/page/17#post-7608159

Does anyone know if full apron graphics (not apron card) or apron with graphics is sold for JP? Ideally it would have the hole for an insiders connect addition.

Me.

My JP is an earlier build and doesn't have the IC hardware.

My Godzilla Premium has IC but I have all that disabled.

I don't need to have these devices sitting on my network and I do all of my updates via USB.

It's worthwhile to have IC at this time.

Achievements adds an extra dimension to the fun.
Great way to store and understand your activity.

I am getting concerned that DLC is coming and if/when it does I will pull the pin and just be happy to play my games as they are.

Home team works well.
It will be awesome when Home leader boards become available for IC.
I'm a little unsure how it can be made fair ?, I'm sure Stern will figure something out.
There are a number of processes that could be put in place to keep it fair I guess.
