In on an LE, though I swore I'd never buy another LE.
This game just looked too good!
Can't wait to see what Brian Eddy is up to!

Congrats! I love that green armor!

In fact, I like that green armor so much on the LE, I'm looking at powder coat colors for my pro. Right now I'm digging this dark green metallic. Looks very jungle like to me.

I'll coat mine for sure, I do it to all my machines. Just a matter of what color. And yeah, I'll be happy to post some pics when it's done. Shhhhhhhhh, don't say the name of the color..... that's a secret

The Schleich velociraptor is pretty nice, and it’s the perfect size for that area.

That looks amazing! It makes the one Stern put in look like a cartoon drawing! I don't suppose anyone knows dimensions on the original stern toy??

#57 4 years ago
Quoted from CoolCatPinball:

Those were just very quick Google searches. I bet I can find one almost exactly like the one in the Premium. Sure, it wont lunge forward, but whatevs. The flat plastic one on the pro looks pretty cheap. So us poor bastards gotta improvise

Hobby Lobby. I was there on another mission and saw some decent looking dinos in their toy area.

I'll have to stop in there and check it out.

#59 4 years ago

I bought 2 of them on Amazon, since they hunt in pairs. They were around $15 each (I’m too lazy to check Hobby Lobby)

Moderator note:
After some discussion we decided this club thread could live, even though the game has not shipped. It’s on the line at Stern and close enough to shipping.
This is the club thread for the pro, the LE club thread from earlier last week that predated this one has been unlocked as well.

What aboot the actual Original one here?

https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/stern-jurassic-park-club-hold-on-to-your-butts

Quoted from TigerLaw:

Friendly notation from the moderation team:
A club thread may not be created until a game has shipped. This thread is being converted into the hype thread and has been moved out of the club section. Otherwise, posts like number 44 and 45 above would have resulted in ejections (club thread rules are strict).
Once the game ships, a club thread may be started. For now, hype or whatever else in here.

Let's clean this mess up please TigerLaw

Yeah, and honestly, I fail to see the need for separate clubs for the LE/Premium and Pro. It's the same game except for Trex head and Raptor pen. Let's get everyone in the same boat club wise.

I don't like it at all...it's grasping to be elitist in a situation were everyone is laughably elitist.

And, when we want help from fellow pinsiders (we know there will inevitably be tech issues) it's nice to have one common group to post your question in. Versus posting in multiple threads.

#64 4 years ago

Just crappy mockups from MS Paint, but thinking of some free play cards.

#68 4 years ago
Quoted from CoolCatPinball:

Gotta share this with the group. I was at a local pinball/arcade bar last night and a couple was playing Gotg next to me and my fiancee. They obviously didn't know any of the rules and were saying things like "what do I do, where should I hit it, why is that flashing?". So, my fiancee, being very outgoing and friendly gave them a few quick tips and said "I only know because we actually own this game". The guy instantly became an ass and was dead set on convincing me that Stern games were generally garbage and could sometimes be fun if they were working. He said the main problem with Stern is that they only make 200 of each title and then abandon the title and move on to the next. I asked, "do you mean 200 limited editions?" He says no, 200 total, that's why they never work right. At that point, we both finished our game and just walked away. Where the hell do people come up with this stuff?

You'd never believe the things I hear when I take my DeLorean to a car cruise in. It's like the imagination limit is the sky. Believe me, it's awe-inspiring stupidity.

Some people just have to try to bring others down, especially when they're jealous.

I'm willing to bet it's because you don't have the Mr. Fusion mod installed

Kinda but its has its merits aswell. I don't want to sift through multiple posts about problems with the ole mechanical bull there when I don't have that problem or to listen to how if you don't have the LE/Pre ur missing out etc. I'd rather not listen to it.

#71 4 years ago

I have an AC/DC Pro and always have to read the Prem / LE thread to figure out my problems and see the new mods. They should be on the same thread. LE is the same machine with more problems. My vote is for 1 thread.

#72 4 years ago

More crappy MS Paint playing. Sorry, been on the longest conference call of my life so just playing around.

I like many of those!

Really like the first one without the freeplay of course.

How many folks here have been fortunate enough to log in some plays on this machine? I wanna hear some reviews!!

I can upload without it too if you want. Just messing around with different pictures online, not putting too much effort considering paint isn’t a very good medium to do these.

Quoted from CoolCatPinball:

I hope it’s okay for me to cross-post the review I left on Whysnow’s thread...

I played about 8 games on the Pro. I had a few scores over 100M, but the rest were well below that. The ramps are buttery smooth, but not wide. It takes a few games to find the shots. I had trouble finding the tower shot, but I saw my friend hit it 4 times, so it can be done. The only reliable way to get the ball into the pops is a straight shot just past the right of the truck. A weak shot through the spinner will do it, but a stronger shot feeds the ball to the upper flipper. CHAOS multiball is crazy fun. The modes are somewhat basic but fun to play and lucrative. The raptor pit on the Pro is fine to me, the control room lock does the job. I didn’t see many people shooting for that anyway, as it’s a somewhat dangerous shot.

The art on this game is second only to IMDN Premium, which I also hope to own some day. Hiring great artists was a smart move by Stern.

I would love these 2 without freeplay. Thanks very much they look great.

I updated these and printed them out. Actually look pretty good. I just use a canon SELPHY printer and print to 140x75mm and cut them out. I did this for my DP and it looks great.

Has anyone done any nosing around for a molded helicopter toy to replace that cheap plastic "helicopter blade" on the pro?

Here is the printer I use. Really great for photo quality on photo paper. Fast too, only takes about 8 seconds to print.

Quoted from CoolCatPinball:

Dumb question perhaps, but do the new spike systems need a battery replaced every so often? If so, can a NVRam chip be installed like on older sterns?

They run off a coin battery. It will last years and never leak.

No, it doesn't have RAM chips like older pins that can be popped out.

A location in STL is getting theirs Tuesday so it can’t be too far away.

T-Minus 2 weeks for one on location in Jacksonville FL

So, after a bit or research, it looks like the helicopter from the original movie was made by a company named Agusta. Model #A109. So, I searched for scale models of that particular chopper. I didn't find one with the same paint scheme as the movie, but I did find one that is an Agusta chopper that looks very similar, and has a paint scheme that sort of matches the jeep toy Stern has installed. Thoughts??
