I think the wooden apron might be more exciting than the topper. Would have loved a mirrored back glass on the LE’s to go with the full vintage look. Here are some more screenshots from the video

Watching the video again made me think Ccr le is a must next to WH2O. All those decals referencing WH2O, the mine…. Midwest madness

#1325 2 years ago
Quoted from joetechbob:Apron is a big jump up from SE. Topper looks very, very cool, but it felt a bit underwhelming from a gameplay perspective. There's a light bar on the bottom and you control which way the active light is moving (left or right) and then press both flipper buttons to shoot the target above that spot. Fun a couple of times but then felt sort of gimmicky. My impractical nerd brain had hoped for an actual shooting gallery which would've been fucking tight.

My thoughts exactly.

Did anyone at expo notice if there was a protector for the mine scoop? My MBr had one factory fitted like everyone else, and those were awesome. My MBr has been flawless three years in.

Quoted from P1nhead:

Doug_Duba
Another way to make the LE folk happy and make CGC money... produce a mirrored backglass exclusive (actually exclusively, only, solely) to the LE for $275.

I thought of suggesting just that at the end of my read, and here it is…. Couldn’t agree more as the vintage look with the wooden apron would be complete with a mirrored backglass. Numbered to match your LE plaque. Too cool and would def give the LE something unique. Would love one regardless of toppergate ultimate outcome.

#2701 2 years ago
Quoted from P1nhead:

That is truly awesome. No wonder they have great playfields!

CGC has the the best build all round. LOVE my GNR CE but playfield issues are keeping me away from future releases for now. My MBr LE has been flawless, I have done NOTHING to it out of the box since day one, for about 3 years now. A huge factor in deciding about this new title - since there’s not much help or parts availability where I’m from and every little problem can take weeks to sort out especially during COVID with shipping times and prices.

#3258 2 years ago
Quoted from PPS:

The Cactus Canyon Mirrored Backglass will be available for ALL CCR Customers (1 per Customer). This was difficult to figure out so we kept it to PPS customers but CGC will be providing us a way to ensure it can be available for all CCR customers.
Planetary Pinball

Mirrored backglass is all I thought was missing from an LE. Great news.
What about those of us who purchased from official EU dealers? How would we be able to obtain one? Only ships Within the US? Direct to our home address abroad? Through the dealer in Europe? Thanks

#3261 2 years ago
Quoted from Doug_Duba:

I appreciate Rick’s responsiveness in opening mirrored backglass sales to all CCr customers.
We are having discussions with all dealers regarding a loyalty program that would provide existing remake customers an opportunity order future games before they are offered to the general public.

Would this include us guys outside the states purchasing from authorized dealers in Europe?
Thanks doug

https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/cactus-canyon-remake-le-owners-number-swap-come-find-your-match#post-6593012

Since number matching is apparently not happening, If you’d like to match your limited edition number to your previous titles number, I’ve created a thread where buyers can try and find others with the numbers they’re looking for. Good luck

Hope someone plans on making a train station or something nice to cover up this motor.

Quoted from kapaun:

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but definitely one of the better looks at the LE playfield I have seen.

Great video with the LE. at the end though, it says “a quick look at the LE” and it actually goes on to showing an SE…

#3845 2 years ago
Quoted from PM_Jeremy:

Doh! Great catch! I've added a note in the video description. Guess I had LE on the brain

I feel ya! We’re all in the same salon

#3883 2 years ago

Would a new Lyman code mean more call outs/music/sounds? New call outs would sound same as the original voices? Noticeably different? How does this stuff work?

#3888 2 years ago
Quoted from MrMikeman:

May I suggest learning to use the search within a thread feature of Pinside. There are 2 very active threads about CCr right now.
Using this you would find out that it's likely to be a complete re-write BUT they haven't decided anything yet. They are still working on the plan. It may be software only or could be software AND hardware. Once again they haven't decided yet. Obviously they don't have a price or ETA either. One thing we DO know is they got the "rights" to the Cactus Canyon Continued code so they may use some ideas from it or they may not.
Given CGC's ability to keep things pretty secret we likely won't find out anything until it's ready for release.

Don’t need the search as I read every comment here. My question was regarding a different voice actor. Just wondering what it would sound like if there were new call outs to be added

#3894 2 years ago

50 pages about a topper is ridiculous, I just asked a simple question. Excuse my ignorance

#3895 2 years ago
Quoted from jfh:

Depends on the voice actor(s), how good they are and whether s/he has to try and match an existing character.
Since it’s unlikely they know the dialog requirements for the new code at this point, let alone the talent, it’s kind of a ridiculous question at this point, isn’t it?

50 pages about a topper is ridiculous, I just asked a simple question. Excuse my ignorance

#3900 2 years ago
Quoted from jfh:

Fair enough. How do you think it will sound?

See, this was good to ask because your answers are what made me realize that I haven’t for one second given a thought to the fact that this will prob be a whole new soundtrack altogether. It hadn’t crossed my mind that unlike the code that comes built in including enhanced code, has nothing to do with the code expected in the future. I’m glad I asked

#3902 2 years ago
Quoted from jfh:

CGC-Ryan Are there going to be any flyer images and/or high res playfield and game photos available soon?

That and key fobs. I don’t think the original got those. Pps has something which is probably licensed coming from them, but I doubt it was something created back in the day.

Quoted from pinballonthemark:

I can post the launch party of Cactus Canyon, but I was limited to shooting it with my phone. I had it on a tripod, but every time the machine vibrated it caused a wavy artifact in the video from the vibrations traveling through the wooden floor. I can post it on YouTube if you would like to see it. The recording conditions were not the best with the low lighting and loud music in the background but you can see gameplay and the DMD. Let me know if you want me to post the video.

sure sure! Any bit of video is fun to watch while waiting

This should be enjoyable to listen to. Perhaps even informative to some degree.I’ll have to find some time for my earphones later

CCRle is here at Pincinatti and it looks, plays fantastic...other than a table slope of 5.5 or 6 degrees. First time I have ever played CC, so now it's time to find about 9k for an SE.
GET EXCITED FOLKS. THIS THING IS BADAS

Looks like an SE+ and not an LE

I couldn’t hold back makes the anticipation that much more exciting

im most definitely considering it. ill make a final decision when it arrives.

Quoted from jfh:

The manufacturers aren’t going to make a high end model with significant unique playfield toys. Stern already does this by designing a Premium and the taking things out to come up with a Pro. The LE is just a Premium, some bling and a different art package; no exclusive playfield features. I don’t know JJP that well but I don’t remember playfield toys exclusive to the CE. To do what you’re advocating would require development costs to be spread over a relatively small number of units and may even require an additional playfield design.
The only thing on the LE that can’t reasonably be duplicated is the topper. But since you’re OK with the SE+ having the topper what does any of this have to do with Cactus Canyon?

Coma physical lock on the GNR CE is one at least… different playfield artwork and glitter ( I know those are not toys but they can’t be replicated

#4517 2 years ago
Quoted from ClassicHornet:

First thing I think I’ll change is the flipper buttons to Black, will hide nicely on that dark part of the decal. Was anyone else thinking the same ?

Agreed. Even red is better than yellow on this one imo

Quoted from explosiveegg:I'm excited to see if Brian Allen does an alternate translate for Cactus Canyon. They're amazing but I've never owned a machine he has done the new art for.
He has done alternate artwork for the last three CGC games, but that could just be a coincidence.

It’s not an IF, pps have advertised that there will be work by Brian Alan for CCr, I’m sure A translite is one of them

Other people waiting for CCr… <crickets>
Me waiting for CCr…. <punches start on MBrLE>
I’ve done all my waiting already…. Good luck guys… your CCr’s will get there around middle of June. If my experience on my MB aligns with all the COVID delays for CCr, I would feel lucky getting it by the Forth of July.

Bublehead I recall your posts on the MBr thread while waiting, back when you got South Park from a show or something like that. when it was all over and we got our games it wasn’t as fun anymore. I think you should start lamenting here more often, if we’re lucky, we’ve got til the Fourth of July

Yep Rav4 primes go for 5k over Msrp and and typically no eta on delivery.

Here’s an ETA for ya

Quoted from jfh:

Graphics cards, game rooms and delayed car deliveries.
Anyone got ideas on what off topic discussion we should have next?

I wouldn’t mind reading about your choice of Coca Cola vending machine, what model would that be? I know I’ll be getting one some day, I like the 50’s-60’s ones. what made you pick that one and was it originally white? I think it’s much better looking than the standard red. Wouldn’t mind for some pictures of it too.
If we’re done and still no word from cgc, I’ll be happy to move onto the jukebox

#5412 2 years ago
Quoted from jfh:

It is a Cavalier 72. [72 bottle capacity. There is a taller 96 bottle model]
I picked it because (a) it was manufactured around when I was born, (b) my grandfather had one just like it outside his furniture store when I was a kid and (c) I like the style - see through door, rounded corners, and adjustable shelves.
The paint scheme was an original one, along with the more common predominantly red. It was restored for me by a former machine tech for Coca Cola. The only thing I regret is not having the Sprite Boy decal oriented correctly (Coke bottle shouldn’t be tilted).
The Coke crates are original and appropriate for the era. The frame above has an original era sign and bar coasters. I choose not to set the machine on free vend (otherwise the ‘Have a Coke’ light does not operate correctly) so I keep an ice cream sundae dish with change on top. The jukebox is an unrestored Seeburg V200 (rebuilt amp) hooked up to a wallbox in the theater and whole house sound system.
If you (or anyone) wants more info, PM me.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

I’m gonna find me one of those one day. Cavalier 72, etched in my head. Had a huge huge coke collection from about 12 years old til my mid twenties. This can sum that whole collection up nicely. Thanx for the story

Quoted from CosmoJoe:

My impatience is tempered by the knowledge it will be well worth it. That, and the delay is also giving me time to rebuild my pinball fund for the future

I was hoping the same thing, but all the delay did here was give me enough time to come across a TOTAN which will be here a week from today. When the LE’s do hit the shores of Europe, I’ll still have a month or so before I see that beauty in my lineup.

I reached out to Sara and whatever it is that will be only available for PPS buyers by Brian Allen is not an option for other buyers.

I’m happy with the “standard” stuff he’ll be offering, but if anyone eligible to purchase from PPS whatever this may be and isn’t interested in getting one for themselves, please pm me.
Thanx
