Quoted from toyotaboy:tapping hardened steel would be difficult, and you would need to use a double threaded standoff, plus i dont think a screw that size would hold very well.
Can't say I've made one (just thought about it) - but good points. I'd just take a SS bolt and cut the head off, so that should be OK. But drilling/tapping the rod might take a little bit of doing.
Quoted from Pin_Fandango:I got my p1p a few days ago and I am super happy!!
Recommend!
Nice, I'm so tempted to get one but I'm trying really hard not to spend money on stuff I don't need at the moment. Almost bought a new 4k TV with 120hz support the other day but had to remind myself that my computer barely gets over 60 fps on 4k games already so I should just hold out.

That's pretty sweet, makes it easy not having to deal with a CAD program. I heard they implemented some cool new supports recently too but not sure if it's made it into the main build yet.

That's an awesome feature. Are you running a Beta version of Prusa Slicer? This will come in super handy for personalization. Does it use your system fonts, or does it have a specific list of built-in fonts that it supports?

Yes, the supports were released in the last official version. There are now custom paint on supports (I think this has been the case for a few versions) as well as lightning infill supports.

No, as they haven't posted the next beta to Github yet. Watch the lates Prusa Live #48 and Mikolas demonstrated as an upcoming feature:

2.5 is the latest version right? Where do I go to change the style of supports? I don't use supports all tha toften and don't see any clear option to get something like the tree or fractal supports (or whatever they're called)

Thanks, I think I was mixing up the new lightning infill with a new style of supports in my head. Seems like that would be interesting to play around with, I'm going to give it a try next time I have a print where it makes sense to use.
Mr_Tantrum can you point me to the pingulp file? I haven't been able to find it when I search the major 3D sites. Thanks!!
Quoted from Mr_Tantrum:Yes, I’ve printed a few for friends, and they have all held up quite nicely. I just did 100% infill around the bolt holes (use an infill modifier in slicer).

I am selling a very nice Prusa MK3S with a temperature controlled and lighted enclosure. Printer works great and is printing right now. $750 takes all. I have all books, new smooth sheet not used and other extras that will come with it.
Bill
I have had a couple people ask about the enclosure and if I liked it. Yes it works great and this is the one I bought.

I then added the lights and the temp control for the fan.

really liking mine! just got it, never printed before.
I am hoping they make a good enclosure for it, I know you can print panels for it now but does not seem to seal it.
Also, what are the filaments brand that you wold recommend for it? Again I am totally new here, so this might be an ignorant question... but I noticed that for example on their website they do not sell PETG and the other filaments compatible with this printer... so makes me wonder, why would they not have the filaments that I need for this one? They do have lots of abs and pla, but not much else.
Should I buy my filament elsewhere?
I’m100% new on FDM as well, just using their own PLA for now. I did get a support material from Matterhackers but the spool is too big for the AMS so I’m not quite sure what to do (re-wind it on a bambu spool??)
Thought I’d share some pics of my C3po esb build. Lots of work left to do. Fun hobby.

Really nice! Is this a MrBaddely print or did you get the files elsewhere ?
Thank you!! R2D2 was patreon MrBaddely had some help from group on Facebook. R2 took 9months to complete (Static just LEDS). Pit Droid was Droid Division 35 dollars for files took roughly 3 months.
C-3PO so far 4months going C-3PO builders group Facebook.
I'll be out of room after this build.
I'm planning on mounting 3PO above R2 in a net.

I made a seizure warning cover for Godzdilla. Easy filament swap for color change. I can share the file if anyone is interested.

AMZ3d and Overture are good filaments, both sell on amazon. Esun is good too but probably more pricey. 3d solutech is another one on amazon that I've hard success with.
Try the Overure matte black filament, it really conceals the layer lines for some reason and looks amazing.

That's pretty great.. so no supports or anything? Looks like maybe you cleaned a few things off? or is that exactly how it came out? Pretty neat model.
I made some single compartment semicircles to go in my used spools. Then, I made a cover that spins enough to allow access to the different compartments.

That’s a really great idea. It always drives me crazy that the spools are just trash. The last few brands I bought have had all cardboard spools; but it might be even better to reuse them

Lots of good filaments out there really and everyone has their go to. I’ve used a ton of PolyMaker/PolyTerra even before I got my X1C with my Vyper but now use PolyTerra filaments for nearly all PLA. Overture, Sunlu, Hatchbox are all great as well. The Bambu slicer also has preset profiles for PolyMaker filaments though not sure how much that matters. It’s rumored that they even manufacture and white label the Bambu brand.
I think in the old days there were lots of variables in filament but it’s all pretty consistent these days.
Any good files out there for:
-side blade protectors
-glass corner edges
Almost spent $40 on protectors when I realize this is a great candidate to justify my $1000 printer

I think the issue with side art protectors is that they are big. You could maybe design them to be printed in 4 or 5 pieces but it seems like for the cost they are easier to just buy. Also the ones that come with magnets seem really handy.
Then again maybe if you made one to insert near the top of the playfield and one to insert near the bottom it would keep the wood from rubbing across the whole length. They might not need to cover the whole side.
one other consideration is width. The ones I bought are a tight fit on my machines, you'd have to print very thin to get them to slide in.
Needed a clock at my workbench, cause I kinda lose track of time often. 3d printed and uses and arduino and an RTC for time and functions!
For those that want to make one here is the amazing tutorial
I followed: https://www.instructables.com/Retro-7-Segment-Clock-the-Final-Ones/

That makes sense. I was figuring that just having the guides on one end might be sufficient to keep the playfield centered, rather than the full length.

Great project! Is there info online somewhere with a parts list, files, etc? Or was this a homebrew?
Wow! You guys are really inspiring. There are a lot of great projects in this thread. I received my first 3-D printer for Christmas and just started to design a topper for my Maiden. Just printing out a couple of letters now to do some fit tests. It’s a steep learning curve but I’m catching on fast…. I think.

That looks really cool. I don't have the headspace for a topper but I would print this just to have on the wall if you can share the file once you're done with it.
Are you printing the red coloured sections as inserts? I was going to mention there is a trick to doing multi color prints in one shot by changing filaments at certain layer heights, but based on this design I think it would not look great since you will see each color change when you look at it from the side. I think doing the inserts is probably the best choice here.
Great idea, a topper seems like a good project to do a first serious piece on. I think I may try that!
Sure. I’ll share the files once complete. It will be a while before I get there. The letters are to be printed individually with white resin. The red lenses are then inserted into the top of the white letters and LED strips will be attached to the side walls of the white letters. I have to create holes in the back of the letters in order to enable the LED strip to go in and out of the individual letters (and probably a hack end housing piece to block stray LED light). I’m a little worried that the LEDs won’t sit nice giving the sharp nature of the letter design. That’s the next piece I will tackle and tweak if necessary. I’ve also designed a black backing plate that will outline each letter to Better mimic the bands logo. Then, Then the whole assembly will use the standard mounting holes in the head.
