I have 2 Prusa i3 mk3. They have a special metalsheet that is coated with PEI i think it's called. I previosly used a gluestick, but that stopped working. So i cleaned the sheet from all the glue and now i really find that it works best when i just clean it with alcohol. Nothing is coming of during the print. But the glue hardend and actually made it worse.

So for me it works best, when just cleaning with alcohol.

Made a small side project, i used the cap, body and ring from thingiverse
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2748623

Made the rest myself, and put some rgb leds inside.

Quoted from Oldfart:

I'm having a problem printing and was hoping someone has ideas. In May I build a large scale printer (Tronxy x5as). This is a core xy printer. I am gettig shifting when I print. The
X and Y axis belts are tight and have tensioners. I've tried slicing with Cura 4.10 and 4.9.1. I have used these stls before and they printed fine. Print bed adhesion is also not a problem.

I had a problem with shifting on my prusa once, it was a firmware problem. Short time solution was exporting the files again and sliced new. That worked sometimes. But Firmware update solved the problem completely.

Tinkercad is very basic and very easy to get into.

I like onshape too, i tried out Fusion360 as well but i just hate to use it with a mouse, tried out a 3d mouse but really hate it as well. Onshape is webbased and works fine with a normal mouse. Wonder what others think about the controls?!

But overall i use tinkercad all the time, unless the shape i have to make is to complicated for it. You really can do a lot in Tinkercad, but at some point you will reach its limits.
I really miss the champfer feature. For that i would go into onshape.

Quoted from Aniraf:

I'm not sure if anyone cares about this or not...but I figured I would throw it out here.
For a long time I've been using those rubber "casters" that protect my floor from the metal leg levelers. The problem with them is that they don't really allow for you to move the machine that much. In fact, it sometimes feels like I am tipping it rather than sliding it. Because of this I decided to come up with a 3d printed cup which holds a standard felt furniture pad. Before you ask, I tried to use the felt pads by themselves, but that doesn't work because the levelers move and the pad eventually slides off.
So, basically I print these little cups in TPU, then jam a standard felt pad into them. They seem to be working pretty well, but I need to test them over time to determine how the felt wears.
The felt pads cost about $0.35 each and I estimate the TPU used to be $0.65 or less. Overall I think they end up being $2-3 less than the nylon leg levelers. Also the felt is replaceable unlike the nylon.
If anyone is interested in this, let me know.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

love that idea, could you provide the stl file?

I mostly use Tinkercad. I've tried fusion 360,and it has some features that i miss on tinkercad very much. But somehow fusion is more complicated, so that i find myself using tinkercad again. I am much faster and there is not much where tinkercad leaves me hanging.
here a Battletoads Speederbike, entirely drawn in Tinkercad.

What would you say is the best thing about fusion 360,so that you wouldn't go with a different software?

Quoted from Sleal16:

been using autodesk since 1999(ish). Think i just got used to the tools they implement. I do like being able to do make custom circuit boards in fusion as well. Like heres a kit i've been working to make led strip implementation more cleanly/compact. Working in an educational research center does make it easier to get free autodesk licenses, so thats been a plus with these things

that is very cool!

Quoted from ManbearpigOG:

If you saw the new Stern light and were like.... $500!!!! just like me.... I was like, I can try to make that.
Is it perfect, no.
Is it cool, yes.
The BBL profile is pre painted on the triangles cause I'm not good enough to model them separately and have then flush on the cap.
