My modest 3. Promised the wife I wouldn't have any more than 3...so I just have to pick which one to move if I want a new one. I highly recommend PINWOOFER. Installed one in my Deadpool and it's a real game changer. It's soo good that it literally makes your other games seem less fun afterwards.

Well I highly recommend altering your promise. You can fit one more!

I started with, "Honey, if I get the basement finished out can I put a pinball machine down there?". Now I have 6 pinball machines... 4 one ups... and a pool table. I'd suggest changing it from "3 pinball machines" to "the space between the doors" assuming finances allow it.

That room is soundproof (mostly) which is why I put the machines in there and not the main part of the basement. I like to play them LOUD and usually very late at night so that room is key. Outside those doors is a full size MAME machine, an arcade 1up Golden Tee and MK machine. And a Rush the Rock arcade racing machine.

I'd definitely like more machines but I just started this a little over a year ago and in that time I've spent a lot of cash. Had to convince the wife that I'm not spending money...Im just parking it in the basement and can move it whenever I see fit. And it's not a lie since they move quick.

    Thanks!
I wouldn’t say better, It’s just a little different and I’ve had more time. Yours looks like an awesome place to hang out. This gameroom is coming up on 5 years in the making. When I was only a year into it i only had 2 older pins and some used gameroom stuff. Half the fun of building these game rooms is the journey and seeing them evolve with you and your family. I really enjoy finding the signs I have on the walls when we are on vacation. I have found fun ones to hang from Disney, Hershey Park, Northern Michigan, New Jersey, etc. some are gifts as well from family members, so seeing them makes me think of a particular vacation or a loved family member.
Have fun building your gameroom and have fun playing in it!!

I have games in almost every room of my house but I rearranged the line up in my main pin room a few weeks ago after moving some games to location at my local brewery. Liking the change up. I consider these titles my absolute keepers. Bolted to the floor as some would say. Plan to be buried in my radical when I die. My shadow and BW100 are also absolute keepers but shadow is upstairs next to the front door so I can carry it out on my back in case of a fire (god forbid) and BW looks too good next to EFLW in the living room. Yep, I’m a pin hoarder. Thankfully my lady is chill lol

Not finding too many posts with Big Buck Hunter in the game rooms. I'm really starting getting interested in that and think it would be an awesome addition. Was wondering if anyone had one and what they think? Im talking the new version " Reloaded ".

*EDIT* found the BBH thread. Disregard

I had the oneup version (so not as good as the real thing) and... It's great! It has substantially more replay value than a rail shooter. Price to entry on one of these is 400 if you can find it NIB, but they are available used on your local Craigslist or Facebook marketplace. My kids like it. Great way to mix up the lineup.

Our collection is on the older side, but we enjoy them and love having space to host parties and introduce others to pinball. The EM games are way less intimidating for new players too!

Yeah I thought about getting one of those but then I played the panoramic reloaded version and thought it was awesome! And I like the online leaderboards like Golden Tee has so ill probably go that route.

My boys actually prefer the 1up because it has an easy mode where you essentially turn the guns into semi automatic. Yeah $450 vs 6k plus monthly subscription hmmm

Regarding shooter arcade games, back in 2003, I designed a circuit and submitted it to the "GameRoom" magazine that turned your optical gun into a semi-automatic. It'd plug into the 4 wire optical port on the JAMMA board and eliminate the RELOAD command when playing Lethal Enforcers and LE-II machines. Made it work with less wrist action and much less tiring to play. Instead of having to move the barrel off-screen and pull the trigger to reload every six shots, you'd just hold the trigger in - it'd fire off four shots, automatically reload, then repeat over and over. Good old days...

Anyone have rhythm games in their gameroom? I have a stepmaniax (like a DDR) and looking into adding something else. I heard of a groove coaster but never played it. Any suggestions or ideas?

    #20817 1 year ago

I've been looking for a Sega Flashbeats since i first saw them. There is a couple in this thread.

I've had to make do with a Catch the Light combo game until i can find one. The visiting kids still seem to like it.

Ok that Flash Beats is pretty cool!

    Never seen that before.

    #20819 1 year ago

The flash beats is pretty cool but I would need to swap out/disable the music choices. Can you play that solo?

    #20820 1 year ago

Yeah, couple guys here have them. The difference is it's player V player rather than player heads up against the machine that the Catch the light does.
    Calls to my competitive streak.

They are hard to get, apparently you need earlier models as Sega restricted them to Japan and they need to connect there to operate in the late models.

But as i say, there are a couple of owners here so they may step in with more info, or you can search the thread.

I know it’s boring seeing unfinished game rooms…but I’m busting my butt to get this detached garage gameroom finished. The garage ceiling had saggy joists at all different heights, so we had to basically re-frame it to get the even height and proper support to hang the ceiling. I’ve never built anything, so I’m learning as I go. One more weekend and the white beadboard goes up, with faux brick and barnwood walls, and then I’ll paint the floor and apply carpet squares for a more comfortable space. Then the real fun…pool table, pinballs, TV, bar…seating…disco ball…gimme 30 more days…

Pro is the better game. I got rid of my LE, but would own an AS pro if one came at the right price. I had a pro here on rental for 4 or 5 months.

Upperplayfield slows the game and ruins the flow.
