Quoted from Neal_W:Says 'great condition' but from the 4 poor photos you can see the left side of the back box looks bad, the lock down bar has bolts through it, and the playfield is grimy. You could do better.
I have one, paid 6k fo mine. Thinking someone could fix it up.
Quoted from Coyote:Honestly, I like it if OTHER people use Alligator Clips.
Because it means that when I buy the game, I can easily remove those mods.
I solder molex connectors on so they operate without issue and you can take off the mod as suggested.
Quoted from BenB:I am new to the club here as I just picked up my TZ this past weekend. The 3 AA batteries are still currently PCB mounted. I’ve read mixed reviews with the clock and certain batteries. I’d like to know what most of you guys are using? Coin style, remote AA Packs, or ?.

Nice add. You really upped the collection by adding TZ!
Quoted from Coyote:It *was* a well-known fact back in RGP days that the flyer had the cap colors wrong. Should match the order/positioning of the 'score' inserts in the powerfield.
The plethora of knowledge here is amazing!
Quoted from killerrobots:I have been diving into the forums and it seems like there are bunch of issues with the clock. I am going to tear it apart and check the optos inside and if that doesn't work then order the German board.
I know there is a replacement board and I a, sure it is more reliable. I was able to replace the opto’s on mine and I reflowed the components and it now works.
The bulbs in the original I believe would create a heat issue and cause the old o’clock to malfunction.
Quoted from killerrobots:I thought this was interesting. TZ is both the most owned (by a large margin) and most wished for.[quoted image]
You would think the most owned and most wished for game would by default be the #1 game.
Quoted from gjk715:Turned on the game to check switches and test report said Grnd short Row 1, Row 3, Row 4, Row 6, Row 7. Then, Clock is broken, ball popper onto is stuck. Press Start for Help. When I press Start, nothing happens
I had an issue recently where my problem was the 12v power was not working. It is a know weak part on the driver board. There is a capacitor that goes bad and can cause tracing issue too. Have you checked the 12volt power?

Quoted from pbjksb:I also have "clock is broken" test report. I wonder if broken clock is a separate issue but power reset and broken clock occurred about the same time.
Did you get all of your issues resolved? I believe your clock issue is probably a 12V power issue potentially in addition to your 5v reset issue. Just curious where you are at.
Quoted from SantaEatsCheese:Thanks all! Long story short after some more troubleshooting my friend fixed it and is nebulously calling it "user error". Thanks!
I always say start with the simple. Going straight to a board went bad in a move is really a long shot of the root cause.
I use this as a simple question for software developers when interviewing and understanding their problem solving.
You have a table lamp and it doesn’t light up, what are the first three things you trouble shoot?
The answer is: is it plugged in, does it have a light bulb in it and is turned on.
So many times I get the complex response, like trace the wiring, check the outlet for power with a meter, etc...
Start simple
I like reading about owners fixing their clocks. I have seen other threads where people say their clock is broken and they have no intent to fix. Many times people state it’s a useless “toy” that’s why they don’t waste time fixing it. SMH....
