I really liked the TV mod for twilight zone, but just couldn’t see paying $175 for it. I decided to see if I could make a cheaper version myself.

I happened to already have one of the parts I needed (a USB LCD keychain picture viewer)

Here is the build list in total
- USB LCD keychain picture viewer ($10 to $15)
- small TV to mount if ($20 to $25)
- alligator clips, wore and a USB plug ($10)

so all in I believe you can make this for roughly $40 to $50
- already having an old USB LCD picture viewer has my build at $30

Anyone else made their own like this?

I have all the parts in, so hoping to put it together this week.

Not much invested.

It’s pretty small, I would probably place it where the $175 mods place theirs. The. Put theirs in the upper back. I may have to. It off the antenna from the TV to do that.

Have you seen the TV mod that sells for $175?

Took apart the TV. Couple pics of it apart and how it will fit in.

Going to create a bezel to help it have the tube shape around the screen.

Depending on what hardware you buy it can do different things. The one I found in a drawer here just was a pic viewer and no video.

This was a cheap and dirty way to do it for me. I have little more money in this and it was just a fun way for me to add this mod and not spend $175

Debating on where to put the TV. It’s small enough I can put it farther out than the $175 TV mod.

neat idea. I don’t mind it being smaller, just not sure where to locate it. It’s small enough I could put it a couple places. More to come…..
