Hello Fellow F-14 Pinsiders!

New to pinballing, about a month or so, but it's been a crazy few weeks.

I tried pinballing, found it intriguing (contrasted to arcade games), and here I am now - a proud owner of an F-14 Tomcat (cool theme and "lightshow" on this pin!!).

Hope to contribute someday to offset some of the knowledge and insight I'm gaining from you all and other pinsiders.

Already planning to go to Pinfest on May 2, 2015.

Looks nice! My F-14 still has regular bulbs, but seriously thinking about changing to LEDs.

Should I buy the "complete kits" or buy separate bulbs as-needed? I read somewhere that the pins made at different times (years) may have used different light sockets at various locations, so the "complete kits" may not have all the LEDs I may need.

Great resto work!! Very inspiring, but dunno how to find the guts, time and patience to do all that work. When I was younger, I wasn't afraid to tear apart my Chevy 350 and work on the cylinder heads, carb, etc. But as I've gotten older, I find myself more "lazy" and not tinkering or modifying things as much, whether on my car, motorcycles, stuff. But I did recently buy the Getaway: HS2 Mountain Mod from a fellow Pinsider, and the bug is biting and I'm eyeballing other mods as well. Reborn in the pinball world?!

LEDs for the playfield are cool, but I don't actually like the "sharpness" of the leds in the backbox. They look too localized and don't light up enough around the rest of the backglass. Maybe use leds with diffusers or frosted leds for more dispersive or wider lighting??

Nice backboxes, no glaring hotspots. And the RBG color changer is cool!
