Wondering if this guy is a dealer. Cgc should have been ask 11k for CCrLE. His words are bs because he has a lot of nib sterns for sale not asking more like this one.

Most likely. Who as a collector has “games” on pallets!

Flipper

I do currently 5 still on pallets.

Just broke a strap on a Zilla premium after it sat for months.

My Rush LE is one of them just got the scoop parts from Stern. Many reasons to have a game still on the pallet as a collector.

That is a flipper trying to pretend that he is not a douche.

Public Service Announcement. Do not get screwed by the flipper. Although tough to find one of these at a lower price right now.

Some distros give items to their buddies to sell above msrp for a kickback. Another thing I hate is when distros try to sell a NIB at a markup from their “personal collection”. Weird hobby

#6565 1 year ago

It’s called assholeism and greed.

#6566 1 year ago

I just joined the club. I traded my Spooky Halloween CE to a distributor for a new in box Cactus Canyon SE. best trade deal ever!

We all dislike paying above retail , but selling at market price is not assholeism - it’s capitalism . I’d be willing to bet with ten years in you wouldn’t sell any of your games at what they originally retailed for - you’d sell em for market value . I hate it when there’s games selling at double the original al price ( damnit why didn’t I buy Kiss LE ??!!! ) but I can’t hate on guys for selling stuff for what it’s worth .

You should feel bad, doing that to you're distributor

It will be interesting to see in 10 years if market is above MSRP on HWN/UM and TS4.

Personally, I think the LE/CE runs are too big now. Deadpool LE, GotGLE hover around $14k market yet their runs were half the size of TS4/Bond ($13.5k/$15k MSRP).

RUMOR: Unexpected Company to Remake One of the World's Rarest Pinball Machines This Spring
It has been a couple of days since I had something noteworthy to write about here, so I was thrilled this morning when a mysterious tip came into the Knapp Arcade inbox. The message said the rare pinball machine with one of the most interesting backstories ever told, Capcom's Big Bang Bar (BBB), is currently being updated and reengineered with extended code by an unexpected company. A pre-production version of the game will supposedly be ready in March and revealed to the public in June of this year.

I have heard rumblings for a while now that Chicago Gaming Company (CGC) is going to remake Big Bang Bar. That rumor never really made a lot of sense to me because all of CGC's remakes so far have used the Bally / Williams license. If BBB is really coming out this spring / summer, it probably isn't from CGC. They still have their hands full trying to get out all of the ordered Cactus Canyon Remakes and I've heard from a very good source is that the company already has a single-level Pulp Fiction pinball machine ready to go next.

So if a Big Bang Bar remake is actually happening (and that's still a big if) and it's not being done by Chicago Gaming Company, then who is making it? A new company? An existing game manufacturer who doesn't normally make pins? Hmmmmm.

A remake of Big Bang Bar would be fantastic. You almost never see that game on location for the public to enjoy. If you follow Knapp Arcade here or on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/KnappArcade/ or Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/knapparcade, you know that I have shared pictures of literally thousands of pinball machines that I've taken over the years. When I looked for some of my own pics of Big Bang Bar to use for this article there wasn't any. Not one. Now that's a rare game.

For those of you who aren't familiar with the story of Big Bang Bar or Capcom pinball, I wrote about both in an post here last spring. The tales of this machine and the company are some of the most fascinating in the history of pinball. Here's a link to that article if you want to check it out:

Porn and Punching Bags...The Collapse of Capcom Pinball

https://www.knapparcade.org/post/porn-and-punching-bags-the-collapse-of-capcom-pinball

So there's today's rumor. What do you think? Is Big Bang Bar a good game to remake and is this really happening? I think that a remake of BBB would sell well, especially if it's going to have expanded code. Whether it's really happening, time will tell. Has anyone else heard this?

Yes x2

Not sure about the timeframe though. And not sure why it’s in this thread.

#6573 1 year ago

Someone should make a poll thread with "Who do we think will remake BBB".

After looking at the layout my vote goes to Multimorphic... It can be done with their platform and it would be completely unexpected.

because there were always rumours that it was to be done by CGC ...

Upside with CGC not doing it , perhaps when they start the manufacturing process , it won't take foooooorrrrrrrreeeeever

No offense to the fans of BBB. My opinion is that this game is severely over rated. The popularity of this game is rooted in its rarity. People see dollar signs when they think of this game. I’ve seen asking prices from 20-40k. I have actually played one. Someone brought this game to Pintastic a couple years in a row. Had it set up outside of freeplay and was charging 1.00 a game for charity. I played it a bunch because it is so rare and I didn’t think I would ever have a chance to play one again. I actually played with Roger Sharpe. Don’t get me wrong it’s a fun game. But so is Gorgar and I’m not buying one of those for 10k. Or Fathom for that matter. That’s just me. I would play one on location because I love all pinball and you never see one. It is just a bland cookie cutter regular old game. Not a hater, it’s just nothing special.

I think you’re right on both counts but people also said the same thing about Cactus Canyon.

BBB is a cut above because of the non-licensed sci-fi theme the awesome artwork by Stan Fukuoka and the humor. If done correctly another remake could be a sleeper hit, especially if the original software is extended.

I think the major difference is CC was totally gettable. Distributors were giving them away at close-out prices to make room for Pinball 2000 which was proved to be a mistake. However, I don’t think it made a difference in Williams/Bally’s decision to get out of the pinball business and focus on the slot machine business. I had an opportunity to play CC before a remake was public knowledge. I already knew it was a game I wanted in the release code condition. It is my wife’s favorite game in the line-up. We both had played both a bunch and well before we bought CCr. Our reaction to BBB, meh. I could see TZ or ToM as the next remake. Had an OG ToM and would like to see extended/expanded code. Again, to each their own. I’m out on a BBB remake remake.

Well the good news they will probably do a better job of getting games out the door. We all know how terrible CGC is at manufacturing and delays
