The rumor has become official.

Been a long time coming. But it appears we are close.

Quoted from dts:

If Lyman is on code, it will be hard to resist this one! Shoot, even if he isn't on code, it will be.

No idea who's on code. I'm sure we'll learn more as things get approved and the move into production is in full swing.

Quoted from wolftownjeff:

What happened to Ryan?

He's still there. He ran the seminar at the show today. No idea why he didn't make the list.

According to Facebook he's sales manager. But seems so much more.

Quoted from Richard-NBA-SF2:

I read they plan to make 2 pinballs per year!?

They've been making big changes planning for this. And hiring more people.

Exciting times coming up.

LTG : )

#110 2 years ago
Quoted from Ericpinballfan:

Was this just a reference to there web site?

Yes. Contact them about it. If they'll have a list or something and when you can order.

LTG : )

#112 2 years ago
Quoted from indypinhead:

Any mention that previous purchasers will be able to get matching serial numbers?

I don't think they are doing that anymore. Too much hassle getting a certain number to a certain distributor. Was a nightmare in the past.

#126 2 years ago
Quoted from RobT:

There is definitely a lack of "hype" for CC compared to those two titles when they were announced.

Since those games were announced. There have been a lot of great pins brought to market.

Maybe why CGC is making plans for independent titles in the future. Remake days might be numbered.

LTG : )

#129 2 years ago
Quoted from arcademojo:

That would be a shame if they stop making remakes.

Originally they were talking 10 remakes. Later 6. So with CCR, that leaves 2 more.

So who knows what the future holds.

LTG : )

#145 2 years ago
Quoted from KozMckPinball:

they are leaving ton of money on the table.

Really. I've seen this posted in many threads about many companies about many games.

I'm sure if it were true they'd be killing themselves going after all that money. They ain't stupid.

LTG : )

#182 2 years ago
Quoted from bobukcat:

Just a small point of clarification for anyone reading this in the future, the kit converts and standard MMr into an MMr-Royal.

To further clear things up. It enabled MMR owners a chance to make their games comparable with AFMR and MBR, topper, big display, speakers lights, RGB lighting.

It didn't have every Royal feature like RGB pop bumper lights, and Black Diamond coated trim on front molding, side molding, legs, speaker panel, backbox hinge, lower arch, and coin door.

LTG : )

#217 2 years ago
Quoted from bobukcat:

They re-designed the drawbridge assembly in the last run of MMr to use a direct-drive motor and eliminate the gears - I'd love to see detailed pictures of that just out of curiousity as an MM owner.

I shot a comparison photo just now for anyone interested.

LTG : )

DSC00559 (resized).JPGDSC00559 (resized).JPG
#219 2 years ago
Quoted from bobukcat:

Does the drawbridge still tend to gap open a little at the top

Yes. Linkage is the same. See right side of motor and right side of gears. Or it would be a pain getting it to sit flat on the playfield. Only the gears gave way to a straight drive motor.

LTG : )

#235 2 years ago
Quoted from KozMckPinball:

Williams went through a design change as well for the original run MM drawbridge/gate assembly. Williams production assembly drawing A-22033 was created after A-21723. I know this because I own those production drawings. I don't think A-21723 ever made it into production in early games but I could be wrong.

According to the manual. Page 2-34 and 2-35 are before July 21, 1997 production. And page 2-36 and 2-37 after July 21, 1997.

Some other parts were changed too in the manual with references to when built.

LTG : )

#251 2 years ago
Quoted from KingCat78:

Was the change in gears/motor done for all MMR's or just the latest run?

I'm not sure when it was implemented.

I've had the spare for tech support for quite sometime. Ryan sent it to me to go with the original one I had that I'd requested way back when.

LTG : )

#256 2 years ago
Quoted from delt31:

but you’re Able to add the royal features to any mmr right?

Not easy. RGB lights in pop bumpers. And metal flake trim, lockdown bar, speaker panel, coin door, etc.

I don't recall if there is a sticker on the apron. And serial number to consider.

LTG : )

#278 2 years ago
Quoted from John_I:

I'd be making small batches of previous games in between runs of new games just to keep the factory going

Shutting down the line. Getting everything in order like story boards, parts, training employees about changes, etc. etc. Might not keep it going.

If it isn't being done, there is probably a good reason.

LTG : )

#280 2 years ago
Quoted from robotron:

LTG : )

#343 2 years ago
Quoted from dog:

So when do we get to see it?
Pinball expo Oct 27th?

I'm sure they will be at Expo.

The recent seminar said 4 to 6 weeks. So we might have a lot of info and pictures before then.

LTG : )

#356 2 years ago
Quoted from ClassicHornet:

So the License is now approved because PPS are taking names ? surely CGC can now release a lot of info & pics ?

No. PPS like other CGC distributors now know it's coming so making a list of who is interested in the game.

Quoted from bankmansam:

Seems kinda weird PPS is the one who is holding up the reveal of Cactus Canyon.

Nobody said they were. Could be Scientific Games. Could be the time it takes for approval goes back and forth and changes made and process starts again.

LTG : )

#364 2 years ago
Quoted from bankmansam:

Clearly Rick kept CGC from showing the game at Southern Fried Game.

No. Other than he may have told them they were still waiting on approval from Scientific Games on stuff.

Quoted from bankmansam:

The old company Williams wants nothing to do with pinball.

But the current owner, Scientific Games does. At least as far as the licensing which they own and Rick has an agreement to license stuff. But Scientific Games is still going to approve anything.

Quoted from V8haha:

It’s been 20 days i wonder when we will see something! I’m excited to see what they came up with!

According to Ryan's seminar, 4 to 6 weeks. So 8 or 22 more days.

I'm in the hope for soon camp.

LTG : )

#401 2 years ago
Quoted from hiker2099:

Any idea when these will start shipping?

We should have information in a week to three weeks.

Getting close to good news.

LTG : )

#431 2 years ago
Quoted from Jodester:

Only issue I see with CGC is how long it takes to get a game to market.

They are investing in making that faster.

Quoted from Concretehardt:

Didn’t CGC say that after Cactus Canyon they’ll be going on to making two games per year

Yes.

Quoted from thechakapakuni:

I’m coming over with the beer!

Well, that plan went south. No beer here. I'm not licensed for alcohol.

5 shows coming up. First show that coincides with approval and getting a game there. We'll see it.

LTG : )

#563 2 years ago
Quoted from thechakapakuni:

I bet you’re licensed for Pizza tho

Yes, food can be brought in.

LTG : )

#565 2 years ago
Quoted from sizzler747:

I thought you only need to be licensed for alcohol if you are selling alcohol to people?

You'd have to be licensed and insured for it. At least where I am.

And since I'm not selling it. Why deal with it ?

LTG : )

#573 2 years ago
Quoted from Concretehardt:

I sure hope he is right, I would love to see the game!

I hope so for everyone's sake.

For me, I'd like a peek under the hood and the system operation menu now that any CGC stuff is in there too and not a separate way to get to it. To learn any new little nuances for tech support.

LTG : )

#590 2 years ago
Quoted from HomerEBW:

will we see this at Expo?

Time will tell. 5 shows coming up. It's bound to be at one of them.

Can we show up with pizza?

Yes. Or order it in.

LTG : )

#632 2 years ago
Quoted from underlord:

Rumor is Lyman will also be updating code on PPS list of pinball licenses.

Yes. B/W with larger screen kits and new boards? ColorDmd is great and all, but enhanced rules, deeper code all with high Rez displays.

If he's working for CGC, I seriously doubt he'd be working on anything other than what they build in the coming future.

nothing about reveal?

Wasn't known at the time the website went up if it could be shown or not.

A couple years ago at Expo it was Thursday afternoon when they finally got the approval to show it so they quick hauled the games over to Expo.

We'll find out soon enough if it's there or not. Either way Ryan will have a lot to say.

LTG : )

Quoted from Tallon:

The question would be, Does LTG have it on the floor at SS Billiards yet?

Not yet. Hopefully before the end of the year.

I look forward to see how they integrated the CGC menu with the Williams menu. On this game hitting the ENTER button takes you into everything. No more holding down the ESCAPE button for CGC menu.

LTG : )

#1301 2 years ago
Quoted from NightTrain:

He didn’t even know the price of the game! He had to pull his phone out mid presentation and look it up!

He was checking if it was approved yet to announce pricing. It was for the LE, at that time, not yet for SE. Which is why he said the distrbutors would know by the end of the day.

LTG : )

#1302 2 years ago
Quoted from iceman44:

If you get a ton of upvotes then maybe I’m wrong

I got one down vote.

Number of up votes doesn't matter. You are entitled to have your say. No reasons needed. No right or wrong in that.

LTG : )

#1307 2 years ago
Quoted from NightTrain:

If that’s the case, that’s even more mind boggling. He knows when expo is. He knows when he’s showing the game. He knows he’s having a seminar on the game. But he doesn't know if he can talk about pricing until he is actually IN the seminar? CGC has been working on this for years. At that exact moment in time, he just happens to get a green light to talk about price?

If he was texted no, he wouldn't have said a price. A few people asked so he checked.

Remember in 2019 when MBR was shown at Expo ? They literally got approval on the Thursday and quick hauled some over to Expo shortly before the hall opened.

Crap happens, he did the best he could.

LTG : )

#1310 2 years ago
Quoted from NightTrain:

It’s just absolutely insane.

So is the back and forth through other companies to get approval and if you need to makes changes and get approval again.

Hard to prepare for all that, when you are dependent on others.

They could wait until it's all done. And we get to wait even longer. We finally got to see something.

LTG : )

#1320 2 years ago
Quoted from Mr68:

That was a bad hangover presentation if ever I have seen one.

More like very tired from getting the games prepped. Over there. Having to run to get the topper and get it on a game. And what ever system he had and Expo had, didn't interact good or work for the show on the screen.

I've done seminars where everything possible to go wrong does. And you soldier through and do the best you can.

LTG : )

#1321 2 years ago
Quoted from LTG:

I've done seminars

LTG : )

#1409 2 years ago
Quoted from daveddd14:

Has anyone seen dimensions yet? I need to make some ceiling modifications to fit the topper. Hi eggy with topper is what I need

75 1/2 inches from floor to top of back box ( depending on where your rear levelers are set ) add another 10 inches like their other toppers.

LTG : )

#1425 2 years ago
Quoted from Only_Pinball:

Hey LTG when are you thinking you will get your game?

No date yet. Soon I hope so I can go over it inside and out, for any tech support that comes up.

LTG : )

#1445 2 years ago
Quoted from jfh:

So that’s 85.5” with the topper.

I just measured the clearance under the soffit in my game room - 85”.

Take the nut off of the leg leveler and screw the leveler all the way in and put the nut inside the leg on top of the leveler thread. That would gain at least an inch.

LTG : )

#1525 2 years ago
Quoted from bigd1979:

The figure arms move and body...also there is a new shootout game which is y the windows with figures light up on the topper.... super cool

LTG : )

#1713 2 years ago
Quoted from jfh:

Timex. Takes a licking and keeps on ticking.

I remember those commercials.

About that time a friend was an MP in California. A major road ran through their base.

There was a terrible car accident he rolled on. Car torn apart, bodies scattered about. The driver from the accident and on fire. People were stomping on him to put out the fire.

He couldn't believe it. Got the people back, extinguished the fire. Unfortunately the driver was deceased.

Loading the body onto the ambulance cart, the arm slid out, he noticed a Timex watch on it, took a licking and was still ticking.

He always wondered if Timex would use it in one of their commercials ?

LTG : )

#1741 2 years ago
Quoted from rennervision:

Any chance we know what the height of the machine will be with the topper?

#1785 2 years ago
Quoted from CoolCatPinball:

Is the powder coat on the LE just plain black? I can't tell from the pics I've seen.

From post 1499 by Doug_Duba

The trim on the LE is a matt translucent black powder coat with an opacity of 80% applied over the bare metal. Because it is a translucent, the underlying metal affects the perceived color of the part and gives the finish some depth as a very small amount of the metal’s texture is visible. It looks and feels more like metal than the typical powder coat we are accustomed to seeing. It reads a little bronzy in pictures but it appears dark gray in person. I guess we’ll call it Gun Metal Gray. I’ll try to post a better picture tomorrow.

Only one. Went in today. Playfield 76 in Reno Nevada.

It's a prototype. The only one on the street.

Any other prototypes were at Expo last weekend.

LTG : )

#2425 2 years ago
Quoted from mahony:

How many bars are these in already?

I might point out that this is PPS' game. Along with CGC made this possible. PPS is in Nevada so it makes sense they have one being part of the team and for approvals and stuff. Since Scientific Games is in Nevada too.

Any others CGC has for up coming shows they might hit.

I don't even have one for tech support yet.

LTG : )

#2427 2 years ago
Quoted from TheCnyPinGuy:

Do these prototypes count as an official LE or just have the same qualities but isn’t counted in the 1250

I doubt they are counted as anything. Myself, I refer to such games as factory bastards.

They can be so many different things. This game, that game. Stuff changed. Played at shows. Might have same stuff, different stuff. LE parts, non LE parts.

I think an official LE would be assembled on the line when production starts. Identical to the other 1249 coming down the line.

LTG : )

#2479 2 years ago
Quoted from CoolCatPinball:

Being wishy washy on this one when they were very clear on MM

MM was a done deal when we found out.

More involved here. Licensor approval. Who ever is making them, can they make more than 1,250 ? In a timely fashion and do they want to ?

They have a lot to consider before a decision is announced.

The best was when they promised the MMR LE buyers would get the colour dots included when done, then went on to charge them for it.

The basic game had colour dots. Eight different colors you could make the dots.

There is already a numbered limited edition Cactus Canyon (the original Williams games). They only made like 903 of them and they even had a numbered plate.

The numbered plate didn't ship with the game. They were sent to distributors later. Many distributors or ops threw them on a shelf to be forgotten. So hard to track down the right one for your game.

LTG : )

#3780 2 years ago
Quoted from Hoteldrummer:

My plate was also packed in the box and not given to me separately by the distro?

Quoted from Deadpool66:

Alright so those that got in on AFM AND MMR, How far off were they on shipping those opposed to the advertised date?

Nothing to do with today. When those games were built. Pinball manufacturers weren't going through part shortages, shipping issues, etc. etc.

The last year and a half raised heck with manufacturing.

LTG : )

#4317 2 years ago
Quoted from Deadpool66:

I just keep seeing people mentioning Chicago gaming being off on launches.

I understand.

In the past there were many reasons. MMR Stern built the first ones, just got up to speed and moved. Start over. AFMR saw Doug Skor leave for Stern.

And CGC brough it Ryan White, and things have been progressing nicely. At least until last year when everything covid related mucked everything up.

Other manufacturers have had the same issues. Three moved ( including Stern ) you can have people ready, games being built, and then missing something crucial you can't box up and ship without.

This isn't unique to any one company right now.

I just hope down the road things improve for every manufacturer.

- Pinside: "What's the part? Can you tell when it will arrive? Can it be made in the US? Where is it now? Who makes it? etc etc etc"

- CGC: "We don't know when it will arrive"

Worse scenario is the company making and sending the part tells you when you will get it, and then don't follow through. Leaving the manufacturer looking bad.

Please don't be too hard on Ryan. That Expo presentation was on the fly. And he was dead tired from getting the game there and setting it up. They were literally setting it up going into the seminar. And his laptop wouldn't interface with the hotels equipment. He did the best anybody could.

And at the factory he is under a lot of pressure. Especially with suppliers. Not delivering on time. Not the correct parts. Or even disappearing.

Did this turn out to be a rumor???

From the CCR club thread :

You mean the Lyman update ? Yes. Josh posted this over a month ago :

"Since the unfortunate passing of Lyman the only work that has been done the last 15 months was the putting together of the "to-do list" of what's left to finish the upgrade. The number of people that have been working full time on design, software, graphics and audio has been . . . ZERO.

Everyone on the CGC side was already set with their 2022 plans (Pulp Fiction development among other things). It was on Lyman and myself to pull this through in 2022 and that of course didn't happen.

Now that CGC is through most of that other 2022 work, I'm hopeful that there will be some serious progress made during this year because resources should finally be available.

For the record, there is already a ton of upgraded content that is in the game. IMO there's already enough upgraded content that I feel confident we could ship what's in my game today and people would absolutely enjoy it.

However, I'm not interested in doing 'good enough' on this project, especially regarding the circumstances surrounding it. I owe it Lyman and I owe it to myself to finish off the totality of our complete vision for the game, and that's what I intend on doing regardless of how long it takes to get it done. "
