Quoted from Navystan:Update: I received a revised power cable for the topper. After connecting, topper works 100% again. So, apparently the normal connection to power was not good and tapping off the LED strip power cable fixed the problem.
I had this problem start several days ago when I turned the game on. LEDs on the topper would light and Caboom would turn for 5 sec then everything dark. The machine also would not power on. JJP tech had me disconnect the Topper power and USB. Then the game powered on normally for 2 days (without the topper plugged in). Waiting for them to send that topper cable to the backbox LED strip.
Today the machine will not power on at all. Thoughts?
Most noticeable change for me was the wheel award now lands properly with the indicator on the playfield. There were a few bug fixes and removing Scorbit. Not sure if it’s my imagination but it sounds better
Loving my game after many many plays. Got to the Fireworks mode last night too. What a show!
Quoted from JPloof:Anyone with a CE and topper getting a loud buzzing from the right speaker? Just installed my topper (boy that motor is loud also) and getting quite a lot of noise from the right speaker while booting up and in attract mode. Thinking it’s interference from the topper USB cable. I may play around with how it’s routed, unless anyone has any other suggestions.
I have a CE and no issues with sound but after a ton of plays the machine wouldn’t boot up and the fix was a new splitter cable for the topper power.
Quoted from ls1chris:has anyone had anything break? boards or a coil go up in smoke? light boards or hotrails? other than a loose wire or connector, i can't think of one serious out of order issue being posted.
I had a warranty issue where the topper caused the whole machine not to boot up. JJP sent a splitter wire to rout power to the topper differently.
Hey, this is a known problem (I had it). Nothing to do with the mods. Create a ticket with JJP. They will send a new cord to take/split power to the topper from another molex connector in the back box. See earlier posts in the thread. Cheers.
Sorry if I steered you wrong - mine would fire up the topper for 2 seconds but the whole game was dead/ no power after that brief flicker of life. Started doing this after like 500 plays
There are several free internet services such as YouTube, where, if you type Toy Story 4 pinball unboxing and set up. You can find a video like this.
I always set my machines up myself, but some like Hobbit OMG, are heavy. I have an escalara for the stairs. Put the front legs on, tip it down on those 2 and then have a stool ready when you lift up the back. To maneuver the pin into place I use a cart with a hydraulic lift.
Better to have a few beer to bribe a friend to help with the little bit of lifting needed.
