There was someone in the UK making new drop in replacement pc with new components and a s/s drive
Unfortunately I lost the private email and have no idea who it is. Price was about 400.00
Quoted from GCS2000:So I am considering picking up an RFM (had one years ago with the SW conversion kit). I am (like most I guess) really concerned about hardware failure and being stuck with a dead paperweight.
Nucore doesn't exist anymore and pinbox would be impossible for me to set up based on what I have read and its not something you can "buy off the shelf".
We would want the SW kit as well (which is why pinbox would be great for an easier swap out) but they seem pretty scarce as well.
In addition I don't anyone has ever replicated pin2000 glass either - have they?
LMK you guys thoughts
TIA
Greg
SWEP1 is repetitive but in my opinion maybe that is what it was supposed to be ? Still have fun with it either way.
Quoted from Lithonion:Well this snowballed fast. My art blades by Brian Allen came in and I couldn't put them in my pin. My cabinet was not worthy for this great artwork. So the game is in disassembly mode. Cabinet it going to get some much needed love. The cabinet decals are pretty rough and I was going to wait to do it, but no time like the present.

The art blades look great but I couldn't find them on the webstore. Was this a special order?
That would be great if SWEP 1 was updated.
Why not Wizard Blocks and Playboy in your spare time.
ONLY KIDDING !
Truly appreciate all you do.
What a difference leds make in this game. For me it feels the way it should have been.
Everything just pops now and I can play in the dark.
Hi there,
Does anyone one have a suggestion as where to look for a sluggish left flipper?
It does function but feels off.
Thanks Jeff
Quoted from Bohm:Tinkering around last night I had an existential crisis regarding my RFM, what if the computer craps out? It runs fine for the most part but I have had to reseat the prism card on a few occasions to resolve sound issues.
After a little research, best I can tell is I need to acquire a computer tower with Windows 7 or later and install pinbox or nucore. I'm not great with computers so I was hoping to get some direction on what to look for. I have access to older computer towers that are being replaced for newer systems and I thought it might be a good idea take one home and set this up sooner rather than later.
My questions are:
What are some recommendations for preserving the life of the original? Are there specific points of failure?
Does the new computer need to fit in place of the old one or do you install the new components in the original case?
What sort of hardware and ports does it need to make this work? My RFM has the LCD monitor conversion and LED's but is otherwise original.
Is there supplemental hardware needed to complete the conversion? I read something about needing an amp for sound..
I looked around for a complete "how to" but may have missed it, so any help is appreciated.
Pinbox works as eventually it should happen that the original craps out.
I am by no means as educated as well as some people here as far as repairs but if I can do it so can you.
Quoted from Lithonion:Part number is A-20846-4.

Yes I have seen that version but the ones on my pin are flat and maybe 2 mm thick so I'm not sure which one it's supposed to be ? I guess it's interchangeable.
Quoted from Canuck_pinhead:Ok. I must be looking at the wrong one. Looks like a t nut anchor.
Will look again.
It was easy but time consuming.
Silly question,
I replaced bulb in start button now the assembly seems not to stay in tight. What’s the secret?
Quoted from GILV:Is it "start button" or "launch button" ?
The launch button clips in, if it's loose, just try pressing it a little harder in.
It is the start button. I push back in after a few times pushing to start a game it comes out or backs out enough that it doesn't make contact.
Quoted from GILV:Would you like me to post a picture of my start button assembly?
Maybe it would help you understand what's wrong with yours?
Thank you but I also have a SWEP1 and looking under the hood I don't see any difference except that it's tight. I put a piece of tape around the sleeve of the bulb holder to take up the slack so wait and see at the moment.
Question on leds in a non pinbox.
Do you have to escape each bulb when it says an error or is it just once for all the bulbs?
Ok but do I need to address each bulb error or can I just ignore and start a game.
I guess does pin say check bulb 1 and so on and so on?
