Quoted from gonzo73:

Eddie Money, No Control, 1982 OG Japan Press.
This is Eddie's amazing comeback album after his overdose stroke.
Shakin is such a fun song, pure rock n roll nonsense.
[quoted image][quoted image]

Kind of in bad taste to be talking about his Overdose stroke? Bad Kharma for you perhaps?

Quoted from Pinball-Wiz:

No, as he addresses the events of his life in the lyrics and title of the album, and in interviews.

#8853 1 year ago

I had no idea eddie money had had an actual stroke.

His stage persona makes a lot more sense now.

Do you guys outer sleeve your records? YouTubers convinced me everything needs a poly inner and outer sleeve, but I feel like a grandma with plastic over her couches every time I switch an album.

There are rare few albums I keep in plastic sleeves.
Now I do love the MOFI inner sleeves for many records. (I still keep the original one in there also)

Yes, mainly b/c I like storing the record outside of the jacket in the back of the plastic sleeve. Makes them very easy to get in and out and the poly sleeves have less static buildup.

#8857 1 year ago

No. Most the albums in my collection were trashed well before I got my hands on them.

#8858 1 year ago

Outer sleeves protect! Protects from ring wear and everyday F ups, inner sleeves should be upgraded to plastic lined, you don't want paper rubbing wood pulp into the grooves.
When I get any new or used record, I immediately process them.... meaning a new Plastic outer sleeve, and a poly lined inner if it did not come with one.

I just started to buy the Mofi type inner plastic sleeves, I've been using the paper poly lined for the last few years and finally broke down for the rice paper type.

I'm just gonna use the new inners as new stuff comes in..

Here's Rocky Ericson and Nebula processed, and the Japan Press Black Sabbath came with a vintage Rice Paper sleeve.

I got no respect when posting Mingus before...I don't care. I am putting him on repeat. Seriously...this forum needs more jazz influence.

100% of my LPs are re-sleeved. Inner after cleaning. Outers always.

Haha... you said what I meant in two sentences.
I do tend to babble...

Triumph, Just a Game. 1979.

I was with my older brother when he bought this at the La Mirada swap meet in 79, from a record dealer that had hundreds of boxes of lps.

I just noticed, after all these years it was a promo copy, some radio guy was probably selling all the free albums to this guy back in the day.

It's been played a hundred plus times.... such a great album.

That made me cringe, that poor Shure...

#8872 1 year ago

Shure, its shurly damaged. And don't call me Shirley.

Double shot of Collins.
No Jacket Required, and Genesis ST 1983, a ridiculous number of hit songs from 83-85.

Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush, Tales of the Unexpected.
OG Japan press.

In 1979 Frank was in our neighborhood Guitar God argument's .... Townshend, Eddie, Blackmore, Schenker, Frank, Nugent, Iommi, and Page were the candidates for greatest guitarist.

I've still got my brothers beat up vinyl copy somewhere....

Nope.

I kid... but Hendrix was already 9 years in Guitar Heaven as the groundbreaking Deity.

Always wanted to check this album out when I was younger, I guess it’s never too late.

Been listening to this in my car a lot lately-sadly not available on vinyl
Which naturally led me to these-both OG vinyl on Silent Explosion.
I vastly prefer this era White Zombie to the "stripper club soundtrack" later in their career.

Question to the thread:

I am interested in adding to my vinyl collection, so what do you consider 'must have' records?
