The record industry has sucked, from time immemorial. I still buy a ton of cd's, but vinyl is always the first go to.
The best I can say for this digital realm, is we can now support our favorite artists directly, merch, color vinyl, what have you.
Yep! It's a built in plain old egg timer! A few of the late 70's high end Kenwoods had them. They are often broken so be careful buying one. The timer is built of plastic, both knob and shaft. The timer overrides the on off switch, so you have to twist it and put some time on it then flick the switch.
It was a good idea, for high powered recievers, so it dosen't sit there if you forget it's on. But should have been built with stronger materials.
Finally after 19 years, the Mighty Blue Öyster Cult is releasing the next studio album in October. I preordered two different color versions from Frontiers music.

Blue-Oyster-Cult-Frontiers (resized).jpgThat's great, I've got a couple Korean or Hong Kong pressings, with the same type of cheapo paper sleaves. I think, who's next, innagadavida, and a sabbath.

Just received a holy grail record!
In my top 4 albums of all time.
Blue Öyster Cult.
Secret Treaties.
Original Japan pressing, complete with Obi slip and full color fold out art/lyric sheet insert.
B.O.C.s third album, combining the dark and comic highlights of the first 2 albums. Secret Treaties was a band clicking into high gear.
A demonic swirl of ideas, atmosphere, and crushing guitar grooviness.

Ok, its Friday night, and its gonna get heavy.
Were rollin with the SCOTT 370-R 1977-1979 reciever, 60 WATT. Matched with correct era SCOTT speakers.
First up the underrated Black Sabbath, DEHUMANIZER, the new two disc remaster. Disc two has live, and single edits.
The remaster sounds fantastic.
Can't recomend this next album enough. A late career power surge! The last two Priest albums have been nothing less than stellar.
This one goes out to Levi, he knows his metal!
Judas Priest, Firepower.
The newest album, the follow up to the excellent Redeemer of Souls.
I got to see Priest 4 times on the Firepower tour. What's great is they change up the set list for each leg of the tour. Still stunning live on stage.
No vinyl tonight! But.... my friends and I are hanging out at our friends secret warehouse arcade. Blasting sabbath, madonna, vanity 6, fu manchu , and the late great eddie money.
Everybody have a good Saturday night.

Only seen two obviously scratched copies, and that's a no go.
Message from Shepards Bush Freeak Kingdom.
I picked up a NIB Nostradamus Judas Priest box set three years ago, 4 lp? Anyway, each record was in those thick rubbery and stinky clear sleeves. The sleeves left mottled water spot like Mark's all over the disks. They sound fine but I put them in poly lined paper. I tried gently cleaning one but no go, it definitely was a chemical change to the vinyl, now I'm worried that they are slowly degrading, as stated above.
Slightly Obsessive Message from the Vinyl Freeek Kingdom.
Yeah, I would not let them touch the vinyl, as an outer sleeve sure. My Sabbath volume 4 repress was packaged in one of those with the tuck in back flap. But don't use that type as an inner sleeve.
Next up the brilliant Quatermass. 1970.
A one and done band unfortunately. If you like ELP, Uriah Heep, Deep Purple, and the first King Crimson album find a copy of this gem.
Tonight's beverage of choice, Fallbrook winery's Cabernet Sauvignon, not bad for a wine that's grown only 2 miles from my house.
As your attorney I advise your turn up your stereo emkay. We worship the rock, the pins and the Devil on Saturday nights.

Its 2 am in the Freeek Kingdom, hope all is well in your world, Radio gonzo signing off for the night with one last spin. The wine, the edibles, and booze are gone.
Only the the genius, the one and only, Warren Zevon remains. Excitable Boy. New repress. Glow in the dark vinyl. We miss you Warren. Never forgotten.
HAIL SATAN, WELCOME YEAR ZERO!!!!!!!!
I'd be slurring into the microphone, best to keep it imaginary, good night ROCKERS! He's just an excitable boy! Tune in next Saturday night, for the next radio gonzo show.

Can't go wrong with Candy O, I love how raw and on the edge of disaster it sounds. Like it was live in the studio, just making it up. Heartbeat is the opposite, the ultimate in studio polish. It's great they have one of each.
This amazing item arrived right after my R&M, yesterday, just starting to dig into it tonight.
Sign of the Times, super deluxe box.
6 lp's of unreleased tracks.
3 lp live in Utrecht 1987.
2 lp's of single edits and B-sides.
Plus of course the remaster 2 lp album.
13 lp's total, rad hardcover book, and a dvd of a full 87, show at Paisley Park.

Just unrivaled genius at work.
Radio gonzo is back for another Saturday night.
First up, DEEP PURPLE, Live in Long Beach 1976. 3 LP.
This is the beginning of the end of the Mark IV Deep Purple, Tommy Bolin's one album, one world tour. DP would break up at the end of this tour. Bolin would pass away a year later.
A interesting live album, not brilliant, but DP with Bolin giving it a more grovier vibe, and Lords new synth sounds are great.
Spinning into the late night....
Next up a new repress of Brant Bjork's Gods and Goddesses. Brant was the drummer of Kyuss, then joined Fu Manchu for 4 crushing albums.
In 2001 Brant went solo and dropped the sticks, to write sing and play guitar, creating groovy fuzzed out psychedelic jams.
This reissue has new art by Dirty Donnie, thus a pinball connection.
Into the midnight hour...K-gonzo is powered tonight by Margarita's.
Next up Heavy Metal Soundtract, 1981 2 LP
Japan pressing, with Obi slip, and insert.
Featuring, Sammy Hagar, Nazareth, Devo, Stevie Nick's, Journey, Black Sabbath, Cheap Trick, Don Felder, and the masters of disaster Blue Öyster Cult.
The best comp soundtract of the eighties.
K-Gonzo signing off, with one last spin.
Dark psychedelic funk, from Staten Island?!?
The Budos Band, III.
Give these guys a listen, all instrumental grooving. They sound like a lost 70's blacksploitation soundtrack, on LSD.
Simply amazing.

Great new psychedelic album.
Giöbia, Plasmatic Idol.
I believe they are a Italian band. Lots of fuzzy guitars, synths, and echoey vocals. They are on the Heavy psych sounds record label.
Check out the Heavy Psych sounds website, lots of great new bands, and lots of color vinyl options.
The new Budos Band album, Long in the Tooth , dropped Friday.
Another Crushing album, from the Staten Island Psychedelic soul groovers!
Give these guys a listen, Budos III, or Burnt Offerings is a good start point.
You will thank me.
Also hooked up my Boston Acoustics A150 speakers to the Monster Kenwood 9. Holy shit, the A150's are stunning, these might be the best vintage speakers I own, the soundstage is amazing, any where in the room sounds like they are right in front of you .
Highly recommend them if you can find a pair.

RAT'S! RAT'S RAT'S
Late night spinning, tonight were going with
Ghost, Prequelle Exalted box set.
Cool orange swirl vinyl, in a rad die cut sleeve.
Gator skin tour book, 4 prints, and Seven Inches of Satanic Panic single.
Prequelle is just a beautifully constructed album, love the prog, and melodic direction.

I'd classify it as stoner phyc? Heavy, metal edged riffs, and echoey vocals.
Pretty good on the first listen, but not amazing.
Listen on YouTube before buying.
I like it.

Next up, Cheap Trick, Epic Archives Vol 2.
1980-1983.
2 LP, clear vinyl
Unfortunately it was a RSD release, limited to only 1500 copies, so now its pricy.
I had do pay a pretty penny for mine, but I'm a Rockford true believer.
Vol 1, was amazing, Vol 2 is a little better.
It collects demo's, B sides, alternate mix's, and the 2 great Heavy Metal soundtrack cuts not available on any Cheap Trick album.
Reach Out is my favorite Trick song, so I had to have this.

20201019_210951 (resized).jpg20201019_211127 (resized).jpgSpinning tonight, Rainbow, Live in Denver, 1979.
2 LP, Red Vinyl.
Sounds like a FM broadcast show, so not a true bootleg. But not a fully mixed Pro live album.
Very raw, but good upfront, loud, clean sound.
Grahm Bonnet is in top form this night. Bonnet had replaced Dio as the singer in Rainbow, but it only lasted one album and tour. The tour ended on a high note though, with Rainbow headlining the first Castle Donington Monsters of Rock Festival. I'm a big fan of the Down to Earth album, so having a full show, of such a short lived era, is nice to have.

Spinning 1981, Black Sabbath, The Mob Rules.
Japan pressing, with OBI and inserts.
Mob Rules is my favorite Sabbath album, favorite DIO performance also. Falling off the edge of the world, Mob, and Sign of the Southern Cross are crushers.
If only they had stayed together for 4 or 5 more album's!

Cheap Trick, Out To Get You. 1977 live. RSD 2 LP.
This might be the best Cheap Trick live album.
Pristine sound quality.
Taken from 4 shows at the Whiskey A Go Go while the band was in the midst of recording In Color in L.A.
Cheap Trick had played in L.A. at the Santa Monica civic with the Runaways, but these shows were Trick's coming out party for socal.
The KISS tour was just around the corner, then Japan and Budokan.
Highly recomend this live show, Trick play with fire and energy, playing the first album songs heavier and faster. The In color arangments are early and raw. Plus a couple songs never put on a offical album.

But then Metallica covered them!?
So I realy thought there were two bands, an american metal band and a English new wave band.
Wrong!

BLUE ÖYSTER CULT, The Revolution By Night.
Shadow of California, Veins, Shooting Shark, Light Years of Love, Take me Away, to me these are pure BOC classic's.
But the album sank without a trace on release immediately, I picked it up for a buck on vinyl in 1994 or so, and what a wonderful discovery.
3rd favorite BOC album.

RUSH, Exit Stage Left, Live 2 LP
Japan pressing, with Obi, and both inserts.
Rush at the height of thier powers.
The Trees , Xanadu, Tom Sawyer, Spirit, Jacob's Ladder, La Villa Strangiato! What a show.
Christ, wish I could have seen them in this era.
Concerning Japan pressing's.
In the late 70's oil crisis, record company's began recycling unsold vinyl, and pressing records thinner, to save money.
The Japanese company's never did this.
Many collectors believe that the japan pressings from 1979 onwards, sound much better.
Who knows???
The Obi strip's are the paper band, with the album info in Japanese, so the western album artwork was not altered.
The Obi's alone are super collectable.
Most japan pressings also include a INSERT or two, that is exclusive to japan.
They are usually in japanese, with lyrics, and band history's.
They often include pictures, that were not included with the original western pressings.
There are often posters, and stickers included also.
I love the Obi's, just as pop art advertising history.
Most of my Obi collection is from Japan, not import copies. The Japanese take very good care of thier records.
So almost every record is mint.
Kim Wilde, first album, this is a great example of a bold, gorgeous Obi strip, with a bonus pic!

DIO, Holy Diver 1982, japan pressing, with Obi slip and insert.
Ronnie goes solo with a cracking band.
What a debut, an unknown kid, Irish guitarist Vivian Campbell is just amazing. Rainbow bassist Jimmy Bain. Drummer Vinny Appice followed Ronnie from Black Sabbath, this album is just perfect.
Everything a hard rock/metal album should be.
Dominance! And Submission!
Blue Öyster Cult, On Your Feet Or On Your Knees. Live 1974/75.
2 lp's, Japan Pressing, with obi and triple fold out insert.
Recorded on the third album tour for Secret Treaties. Raw unhinged guitar pyrotechnics, about tales of rouge biker gangs, bad drug deals, and german fighter aces.
What more could you want from a live rock album.

Produced by the brilliant Martin Burch, RIP.
Japan pressing with Obi slip, and insert.
This album has 6 of my favorite BÖC songs.
Black Blade, The Marshall Plan, Unknown Tongue, Lips In The Hills, Deadline, and monsters, one of the highest quality BÖC albums.
They went on tour with the Dio led Sabbath, with the Heaven and Hell album. The band's co headlined the tour, trading off going on first, from city to city, depending on which band was a bigger draw.
It's a bit of a overlooked album, with no big radio hit, unlike the following album Fire of Unknown Origin with Burning for You.
20201124_130245 (resized).jpg20201125_000704 (resized).jpgBlack Sabbath, Born Again. 1983.
Japan pressing with Obi and insert.
What an unholy racket!
Ian Gillan joins Sabbath,?!
What an unholy alliance!
Genius.
The mix or mastering was screwed up, as the band left it to the label, to go on tour.
Still it's a underrated album, it took me years to appreciate Deep Sabbath.
What an Album cover! It's so bad, its great.
20200606_235852 (resized).jpgOh joy! Ug, as of 20 minutes ago California is back in lockdown.
Well, I guess it's back to the vinyl for consolation.
Testament, 2020, Titans of Creation. Limited box set. Lenticular cover, booklet, 2 LP color vinyl, and cd.
Testaments latest, they have been on a roll with the last four albums. A true late career renaissance.
Titans is simply my favorite Testament album.
It's that good.
More Alice!
Rhino has done a great job reissuing the catalog all the way to Dada. Nice packaging, remastering, and good sounding color Vinyl.
I've picked them all up except for Lace and Whiskey.
Love it to death is my stone cold favorite.
Just got Dirty Diamonds, not a Rhino release.
It's a really great album that sounds more like the classic hard rock boogie of the classic Coop band, than the foux metal of the late eighties.
No, just collect them, some say they are better sounding pressings, but who knows.
I have a friend who travels to Japan 3 times a year and buys records for his shop, I get first pick of the records, and I give him a long shopping list.
Because of covid I only have access to my Japan Obi collection, and new stuff, the majority of my records and all my regular pressings are elsewhere.
It's the super deluxe turntable, pressure cooker, espresso maker, vanity mirror, and all in one awesome gadget!
Redeemer of Souls.
Firepower.
The last two Priest albums are two of thier finest. Rob's voice is as strong as ever. Richie Faulkener has fitted in perfectly with Priest.
These really are two of my favorite Priest albums of all time.
If your a fan, and haven't given them a listen, you're in for a treat.
I saw High on Fire at Alex's Bar in Long Beach 10 years ago, and saw them open for Fu Manchu several times before that.
Fun live band.
My Christmas present to myself! I know what I like.
Motörhead Ace of Spades Deluxe box set.
Wow, this is how box sets should be done.
2×2 LP live shows from the Spades Tour.
2 LP rare and b sides.
7 inch of instrumentals.
And a set of poker dice for rock n pinball drinking games.
Plus other cool stuff, with a bullet belt paper obi slip.
Amazon is the vinyl source of last resort.
Support your local shop's.
But it's amazing how hard it is for local shops to get orders filled, the distributers dont want to have lots of stock on hand.
Three of my friends own record stores, and they all say the system is broken.
I buy from amazon only rarely.
Just got my Marantz back and set up. I let a friend use it for the holidays, as his Fisher 400 crapped out.
Model 2252-B produced from 1977-1980
Great mid-level 70's reciever, super warm sound.
52 Watts per channel.
Marantz can often be over bassey with a muffled sound, just keep your bass set at neutral, especially if useing the loudness setting.
This era of Marantz is a close second to the perfect clarity of the G series Sansui's of the era.
First spin, Def Leppard debut album.

Fu Manchu, Godzilla's/Eating Dust
New 2lp Deluxe repress swirl color vinyl.
45 rpm.
Originally two separate 10 inch ep's, releases in the mid 90's.
The Fu combined them with new songs to a full length album in 1999.
This edition contains bonus demos, some songs used on the next 1997 album, The Action Is Go.
Crushing fuzzy groovy riffage. The song Eating Dust has simply one of the greatest opening riffs of all time. The lyrics of Orbiter are genius idiocy of drag racing UFO's.
Best way to describe the Fu, is Sabbath meets the Beach Boys. Heavy fuzzy riffs, and goofy lyrics about muscle cars, skating, UFO's, sleestacks, surfing, and custom vans.

Both are 2 LP deluxe editions.
Order now!
Message from the Freeeek Kingdom.
Heaven and Hell, Mob Rules last official Warner pressings were both 2009. And of course sold out quick as the vinyl revival was still several years away.
I blame Sharon, or as I refer to her as the Evil C@%t. I believe she and Ozzy have veto power on the Sabbath name, she got this power in the Reunion negotiations.
Which is why the subsequent Heaven and Hell reunion was not titled Sabbath.
The Ozzy Sabbath LP,s have had 4 separate pressings in the last 5 years.
Plus the ultimate 4lp best of.
She likes to pretend us DIO fans dont exist. You all know how she treated the Blizzard of Oz band, erasing thier performances.
Greedy, selfish, shortsighted witch! Like father like daughter.

Geezer, Bill, and Wendy DIO own nothing, except possible songwriting credits. If they held on to them.
This allows Sharon or Tony to veto any Sabbath project they dont like.
Message from the law firm Dewy, Cheatum, and Howe.
Sharon confirmed it last year in an interview with Steve O.
Stating,Ozzy Tony were equal ownership, and Geezer and bill were, just work for hire.

Gillan, Mr Universe ,1978?
New pressing.
My favorite Gillan band album, much better known in the UK and Japan, the Gillan band did little north American touring, so many Deep Purple fans here missed these albums. Kind of a lost NWOBHM band. I've only discovered the Gillan stuff in the last 10 years.
Ian broke up the Gillan band, in 1983, joined Sabbath for the Born Again album and extensive world tour. Then reunited the classic
mark 2 Deep Purple in 1984.
Check out the title track Mr Universe, if you dig Deep Purple, it's very much a purple song .

Blue swirl vinyl.
You can only buy thier music from the bands website.
Check out the Video for the song Evil in Your Eye. Pure classic rock. Little bit Floyd/ELO/Beatles.

20210222_134132 (resized).jpg20210222_134144 (resized).jpg20210222_134215 (resized).jpgFinally picked Alice Coopers, Lace And Whiskey. New Rhino reissue, on Whiskey brown
color vinyl.
What a great Album, cant believe I found a lost Cooper classic, to me at least. It only took 40 years.
The Ezrin production is huge, not to long after this album he started on the Wall for Floyd.
The album starts with 3 strait crushers,
It's Hot Tonight
Lace and Whiskey
Road rats,
Before it settles down into more dramatic Cooper/Ezrin storytelling songs.
The Final song MY GOD is an epic, with a massive sounding church organ, and choir.
Great guitar tones on the whole album.
I buy 90% of my records at local shops, and one or two online a month. The records shipped here in north America I've had little or no damage.
The European records are another story. 50% of them have a crushed corner. Or some other jacket damage. So I only order from Europe if it's a must have, that I can't find here.
Oh! Speaking of shipping, this just arrived from the U.S. no damage.
Sammy Hagar, Live 1980. Japan pressing with OBI, and insert.
One of my favorite live albums, a Blistering 1 LP set of Hagar's best Hard rock up to 1980. Wish it was a double, mayby someday we'll get a full show from this era.
Sammy and Gary Phill are an underrated twin guitar team, from the early metal/hard rock era.
Message from the Danger Zone.

2 LP. New Bootleg.
This is Early in the first leg of the Chinatown tour. Gary Moore is long gone, and Snowy White and Scott are the new twin guitar team.
And yeah, wrong line up photo on the cover, oh well it's a boot.

Yeah if its Sabbath, it's ok. Just don't do it again.
We Sold Our Souls For Rock n Roll, is the album/best of, that got me into Sabbath. My brother gave me his cassette, and I was hooked.
Speaking of Sabbath....
The Heaven and Hell, and Mob Rules, shipped a couple weeks ago.
Both 2 LP, Remasters, 2nd lp on both have a variety of live, singles B sides, and rarities.
Not very much new, if you have the 2 CD sets.
But these are my favorite Sabbath albums so, gotta have them.
20210413_211902 (resized).jpg20210413_212011 (resized).jpg20210413_212038 (resized).jpg20210413_212049 (resized).jpg20210413_212101 (resized).jpg20210413_212114 (resized).jpgCrap! Thankfully I despise pinball toppers. So i've got the cash to waste on Sabbath Super Deluxe Box Sets.
Uhg! I'm still a sucker.
Quoted from Krupps4:So how big is your vinyl record collection? I’m sure everyone that follows this thread is wondering
Not that big, I've got so many double and triples of my favorite stuff, originals, reissues, then the Japan pressings.
In total its probobly around a 1000, I've got friends with much bigger collections.
But like I said, for example I've got six or seven copies of Who's Next, as it's my favorite record.
I had a wood record store bin made for me a couple years ago when my collection got out of control. The cardboard box's were no longer cutting it. My friend and i started filling it up, it holds about 50 or 60 in an row, it's got six rows. I thought it would hold everything with room to spare.... nope! I was pissed, so I had another 5 bin built and filled that.
I'll take a couple pics of the bins next week, it looks like a record store with dividers,
This is the only pic I got now, you can see the bin at the bottom.
Here's a good example...
Fu Manchu, Godzilla's Eatin Dust.
Original Mans Ruin press lower left.
Yellow swirl press lower right.
10 inch 3 lp version, color.
And two new copies up top, why two!? Why not.
Plus I've got 5 more copies of other versions at my other residence.
Stupid collector logic right?
And yes its a kick ass album.
Ha! You got me doing some quick calculations..
I've vastly under counted my collection. I've got two of these Kalax 8 bins here. And this is only because of Covid, so I could have some records here. That's 900 hundred plus here. Christ!
So. ... mayby 2500!??? Total???
I had no idea.
I've got it bad.
Pinball repair? Old Bally caps?
Nope, just got back my Technics SA-700, 100 Watt reciever from the stereo tech's. Fully recapped, and ready to rock for another 40 years.
Fingers crossed.

One last record for Saturday night.
Morricone Groove, Ennio Morricone. 2 LP color vinyl.
Really neat collection of Morricone source music, from dozens of films. The songs are the music you would hear in a party scene or on a radio. Not score, but real music in the films world.
Funky disco, psychedelic rock, love themes.
Really eclectic, fun stuff.
Nice! Is that the original Canada press of RRM Triumph?
Never been able to find a nice copy, just US presses.
Yep, Attic records is the Canadian press, US press is MCA, and remixed by Ludwig, with different artwork.
Went to Spin Records in Carlsbad, and found a new/old Holy Grail record.
I've prayed someone would release this for decades now.
THE WHO, WOODSTOCK 1969. 2 LP. Color vinyl
3 sides of music, side 4 is etched.
It's a new boot from London Calling records.
It's missing the Overture, and mayby several other songs.
But this is nearly the whole set.
Little scratchy sounding at times, and occasional left channel loss, but the performance...... well ......it's the Who at Sunrise at Woodstock, its magnificent!
Sparks, just kills me.

Pro soundboard recording.
RAINBOW, LIVE LONG ISLAND 1979. 2 LP color Vinyl.
Calderone Concert Hall, Hempstead NY.
November 30th.
This is well into the North American leg of the Down To Earth tour, Graham Bonnet sounds great, and Ritchie is on fire.
Just wish Graham would have stayed in Rainbow. One and done.20210421_033657 (resized).jpg
Went to a small mostly used vinyl store today, and dug for two hours, found some great 1$ 4$ and 8$ dollar records.
Usually never bother with the dusty boxes, but turned out alot of fun.
27 records for 165$, 3 were brand new records so that was $65, so not bad haul.
And Jane!
Yes,, that's Tyco. Heres the list, top to bottom left to right.

Orion the Hunter, Boston offshoot

U.K. ST
Prince, The Broadcast Collection, 3lp, box set. In book format.
Bootleg.
Each disc is a live show, 1985, 1988, 1991, obviously not the full performance. So it's kind of an oddball release, why not put 1 full show over three discs? He was know for epic long shows.
Still fun package.
Heads up for BÖC fans, I bought this Legends of Rock CD edition of Secret Treaties, audiophile recording. Limited to 3000.
I'm always sceptical about remasters, but this cd does sound amazing. Best version I've heard, everything is crystal clear, and loud.
Here's a bonus pic of vinyl too, for all of you get your CD off my lawn purists. And a rescue Eagle!

Half my collection of vinyl is Players Condition, so is my Firepower, and I love it.
There's gold in them there boxes!

Finally got in a new batch of Japan Pressings, first new ones since Covid.

Original Fu Manchu guitarist Eddie Glass is back. Nebula was on hiatus for awhile, one of my favorite guitarists.
Stoner/heavy pchye. Raddness!

Pat Travers, and Pat Thrall, twin guitar attack!
Tommy Aldridge from Black Oak, then later, Ozzy, Speak of the Devil And Bark at the Moon,
Is just amazing.
Quoted from Krupps4:New vinyl storage in my guitar room. I’m reserving it for only Dead and Jerry Garcia LPs. Two good Dead and Garcia releases coming soon as RSD releases.

Nice vintage Record display stand! Very 60's.
A friend and I, made big order from Japan, amazingly only took a week for the box of 12 LP's and Laserdisk's to arrive.
Great seller off of Discogs. Good prices and mint wax, shipping $ was not bad if you ordered a bunch.
Here's the big one, Black Sabbath, Live Evil, 2 LP, Obi and insert, first Japan press. Vertigo label. DIO Sabbath at its finest.

Got this yesterday, it was backordered, and just put this on for the first time.
Amazing.
Best version of Sorrow, I've heard.
Don't want to sound like an audiofool, but this 45 cutting is great.
Highly recommended.

Wow, good finds.
Blue Öyster Cult, The Revolution By Night.
1983, Japan press, with Cap Obi.
Shadow of California, Shooting Shark, Dancing in the Ruins, Veins, and Lightyears of Love, great underated BÖC ¿♧¿♤¿♧¿♤¿♧¿
Its definitely a love /hate thing.
Don't like the idea of a great album, that's limited, that only a handful of hipster scum own, and probobly never listen to.
But its really about getting people into real record stores, and I do fully support that.
So what did you folks get?
Let's see pics, and reviews.
Quoted from Daditude:It was 98° in my area today, so I cooled off with the blue album pressings of Mr. Frank Sinatra.[quoted image]
Ha! Built in speakers, that's great.
Saves room.
They really should have pressed more of the Police live , my friends and I split up, they went to Amoeba, and I went to Spin in Carlsbad, none of us could find the Police.
No Def Leppard or Dead box sets either.
But we all got the Crue box. So you never know.
20210613_231837 (resized).jpg20210613_232007 (resized).jpgQuoted from jazzmaster:The Police albums were remastered at Abbey Road for this vinyl release and they sound incredible. Would be hard to believe that A&M went to all of that trouble and expense to move the small number pressed for RSD. My money is on a standard black pressing in short order.
Good point, ill buy the standard edition, color vinyl is fun, but that's not important.
Finger's crossed.
New Red Fang!?
Outstanding.
Dopesmoker, that's a rad picture disc set, but I've already got to many copys.
Look at the discogs for Dopesmoker, its astounding how many vinyl pressings there have been. Its endless.
Good to know, I'll look into it.
See if I can find out where it was pressed.
On a similar theme, dont buy glow in the dark vinyl, my Warren Zevon, Excitable Boy glow in the Dark is awful, crack and pop the whole time.
I saw a tour of a pressing plant, and the guy who worked there said Glow in the dark vinyl all sounds awful, it's just a gimmick.
Fully auto vintage direct drive turntable, completely negates my Booze fueled clumsiness.
Can't miss this giant button.
Start/stop button, I never touch a tone arm.
Speaking of late night Boozing,
How bout some night moves?
Bob Seager, Nine Tonight. 2 LP live
Grew up on this album.
Genesis, live 1976, Pittsburg. 2LP
Trick of the Tail, tour.
New unofficial pressing of a Radio Broadcast.
So its been released lots of times.
You can buy it on discogs, got mine from France, octopusmusic.
The back photos are correct from the 76 tour, so nice glossy packaging.
Perfect audio, great performance This is the tour with Bill Bruford on drums, after leaving King Crimson, and of course Phil's first lead vocal tour.
Highly recommended.

Rock, booze, and pinball.
First up
Deep Purple, live at Cal Jam 1974, Burn tour.
2 LP.
Coverdale, Hughes, Lord, Paice, and Blackmore.
Legendary Purple show, co headlining with ELP.
Sabbath played earlier in the day.
You can watch the Ghost in Rio show on YouTube, see if you like it, its pro audio.
The Vinyl is a Bootleg, so might be pricey.
Picked up a few more inexpensive albums, $4 $8 range.
You gotta dig in those dusty boxes.
Three early 80's Nazareth
The Tubes rare tracks and hits.
April Wine
King Kobra, and yes it's got the Iron Eagle theme song.

It's so good I bought the CD yesterday.
Nothing weird, but probably just a strait up Bootleg.
Most people think of Live concerts as the majority of bootlegs.
But there is a long history of studio album bootlegging.
These are the type that often suffer from quality issues.
Most of the Live boots are a work of real fans, the audio source might be an audience recording, but they don't cheap out on the pressing
Whereas the guys bootlegging studio albums are only in it for the fast buck, on a hit album.
So they don't care about the pressing quality.
And today with everything in short supply it's easy money to press a bands albums that just released new pressing.
$20 sealed Pantera at a swap meet.......you get swap meet quality usually.
I'll bet the printing on those Pantera albums are a bit blurry.
Still they might sound fine, but don't be surprised if they sound like a CD rip without much dynamics, or volume.
I've bought a few Pink Floyd studio boots on purpose, that were fun color vinyl.
They sounded decent, but a liitle faint.
Let us know how they sound, could be a great buy.
Good chance they are real.....
were there multiple copies for sale? Or one of each? If only one, they could be real.
If there were boxes of them they are probobly fake, or stolen, as they are under marked value for new vinyl.
Those color pressings just came out.
That's great, that they sound good, that's all that really counts.
It's sad to say that $85 for 5 new records is a deal in todays market.
In fact it's the price that's the only red flag.
Good buy!
STÖNER, stoner rule
New band from Brant Bjork, Ryan Güt, and Nick Olivieri .
Groovy, fuzzy, garage phych.
If you dig Brant's solo stuff, you'll dig this.
STÖNER is going to tour with Clutch in America in December.

The Isleys Live , 2lp.
Recorded in 1972, at the Bitter End club.
Released 1973.
Track down a copy of this gem.
Holy shit, Earnie Isleys blazing , and I mean atomic inferno, Guitar solo's are breathtaking.
Side D is just astounding, they tear up Neil Youngs Ohio right into Hendrix Machinegun.

Discogs, I ordered it from Croatia, believe it or not.
Made the order and crossed my fingers.
Showed up in 2 weeks, great condition.
I could never find a copy in the wild, here in socal, so I went with discogs. It's not expensive, I think the shipping was the same $ as the album price.
Blue Öyster Cult , Live 1983.
2 lp, Blue Vinyl. Rsd then black friday?
This sold out last year, I couldn't find a copy anywhere.
Then last month 4 copys showed up at my local shop! ?
New press?
No clue.
Great performance, well worth it.
