Quoted from Pickle:

Stone Temple Pilots

I am very fortunate to own an original Brazilian pressing of STP Core. It took me a while to find a mint one. Apparently they did not press many at all in 92 and it was never released in the US on vinyl until the 2000’s. (How is this even possible for a top 10 album in 92?). I don’t usually splurge on vinyl but I swear that album is probably the only reason that I like any music at all. I would buy the reissue if you can, it doesn’t sound bad and it’s like $20.

Quoted from Shredso:

I absolutely love this album. How are the 3 new tracks? Different singer?

Not bad. Better than I would've expected them to be. Lanegans voice suits the band.

Spaced

Quoted from gonzo73:

The New Scorpions album...
Rock Believer
This is the 2LP limited version with extra tracks.
In my opinion this is the best Scorps album since the late 80's.
It's also great to see Micky Dee Drumming with the Scorps, I got to meet him and Lemmy after a SD Motörhead show, super nice and talented guy.
Scorps released a lot of crap albums in the late 90's 2000's
This is a great return to form.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

It’s a good album. But it seems like
They always have decent material.

Saw them on Long Island last week! Fist bumped Mickey and my pal got his cracked used drumstick which was awesome. Also got one of the Klaus cowbell sticks but I have one at home from a show 10 years ago so I gave it to Russian chick. She was excited!

Ozzys new album. Listened to the first 2 sides a few times it’s really pretty damn good. Love the Iommi song shoulda been on the last sabbath album.

Came with a cool comic book I’ll never read.

New pressing from Vinyl Me Please.
Thin Lizzy, Jailbreak.
Super nice packaging, booklet, Jim Fitzpatrick art print, die cut silver cover, and gorgeous Orange Vinyl.

Nice! I think I am going to swap for that one tomorrow when swaps open up. I am not a Springsteen fan so need to find something else this month.

For the Roxy Music fans here’s a good one to buy. Only 2 issue are, it’s supposed to be Half-Speed Master but there’s been reports that all the rereleased RM records that claim to be HSM aren’t.

The other issue, for a supposed HSM copy there’s surface noise on several songs.

So is it wrong that I had no recollection that I ordered this already? Went in to purchase it and get a system email at same time that it was shipped.

Shopping a machine and starting out with some Eagles.

Jazz doesn't get the respect it used to. Real audiophiles know that a great jazz section is where it's at.

On my deathbed, I'll take Coltrane.

Been waiting YEARS for this - the HD 5.1 is phenomenal. Ricks keys and Masons drumming are brought to life and are stunning in parts. Nice to hear some new elements that were buried in the original mix. Gilmours guitar is incredible as always but I do question certain solo mixing volumes in parts (Sheep outro). Overall very happy, but still a missed opportunity in terms of the boxed set not including any live material (Oakland 77’ would have worked) and the 8 track version of POTW w Snowys beautiful solo. Still Floyd’s finest hour, IMO.

I saw Chick Corea with Béla Fleck in a smallish theatre in late 2019, shortly before COVID shut things down. I imagine it was among his final live shows. It is not a combination that seems likely, but the two really had a great symbiosis. I still remember Chick reaching into the piano and bending strings just like a guitar player might. What a great musician he was.

I acquired this one this week. It's not in the best of shape, but not too bad for 53 years.

Also Interpol Turn on the Bright Lights from VMP. Sounds and looks great as usual from them.
