Quoted from jwo825:I've chalked it up to the fact that I'm just not a good trainer. I'm inconsistent and I talk with my hands. I probably confuse the hell out of the poor things. I also like to wrestle with them and let them jump in my lap if I'm just surfing the web or whatever. I know it's my own damn fault, but I don't mind it.
I dont know anything about training dogs either. I adopted him and he was very obedient when we got him, unfortunately i think he was abused and he is scared to screw up.
When i got him he was afraid to get on the couch or my bed. It literally scared him to death when i put him on the couch and especially the bed because it was obvious that this was a big no no in his previous home, so i confused the hell out of him too.
It took him probably id say 4 months to finally learn that things like that was ok and to become comfortable with his new life. Im pretty sure that he likes his new home much better than his old one. Theres no abuse, fighting, or arguing in my home so he feels safe with us now and i think he finally realizes that he will never have to go back to where he came from.
