I've lurked on this thread because I agree wholeheartedly! Here's my current lineup of four-leggers:
Pics - Colby as a 6-wk puppy at the shelter, Jake outside with Colby in the far background, and both on Thanksgiving '16...no problem getting their attention whilst preparing a gobbler. lol

Jake is a lab-pointer mix, I think - no lineage since he was found wandering at 8 mos. and no one came to get him at the shelter. Currently 7-8 years old.

Colby is a Beagle-Boxer and others including doberman and rotty - his Mom was found wandering while heavily pregnant, and the person who ended up adopting her got her DNA tested. Currently almost 2 YO.

I am fairly close with the local shelter staff, which is why I know so much about these guys...

Quoted from zr11990:

Jake looks very happy.

Haha...Yes! One of my friends always says, "Jake is such a happy dog!". He'll be pleased you noticed... )

Quoted from G-P-E:

<-- Zoie -- Maltese at about 17yrs, 3 months. Weighed a whopping 3.5 lbs at her heaviest.
My wife picked her out, she was the runt of the litter.
Zoie latched onto me within the first day and pretty much ignored my wife from then on. She'd sleep all day and wait for me to get home at night - wake up instantly when she heard me coming in and would follow me all night. I'd sit down and she'd jump up and sit on my shoulder like a pirate's parrot.
Last few weeks - her health declined radically. Could barely walk, lost her appetite, just became miserable. It was time. Had to have her put to sleep - toughest hour in my life. She'll be missed.

Bummer Ed...we love them while they are here with us, knowing that someday they'll be gone, which we sometimes think will make it easier, and it very well might, but only to a degree.

Quoted from gliebig:

Usually toss the poop bag by the garage on our way back from our walk. Overthrew it last night. Now I have poop on the roof.[quoted image]

Leave it...Santa will get it. Ho ho ho?

Cruising with Dexter down the Garden State Parkway.[quoted image]

Haha...that's an awesome pic! Since Dexter happens to be looking up, it looks like he's rolling his eyes saying "Not another selfie with these two! Good thing I love them so...". And the look on both of your faces is perfect too...thanks! :0)
