Quoted from transprtr4u:Biggest surprise in the last bond film was how much it sucked ...
Terrible film ...
I liked it apart from the ending.

I'm a huge Bond fan. I've read all of Fleming's books, and many of the non Fleming Bond books.
I've always loved the movies as well...I've seen all of them many times.
Lots of FOMO without details, pictures, price etc. Typical pin title release day here on Pinside, nothing changed.
Quoted from NeilMcRae:Bond was always huge in our family because Sean Connery was my grandmothers milkman in Edinburgh and they were friends (Edinburgh is my hometown). He was invited back to the City to receive the keys to the city and he invited my gran to the ceremony.
Now That's am amazing family story.
Remember Folks.... there are Ten Pinball/Arcade Convention/Shows in the next 2 1/2 months across the US.
Look em up, you can play Bond in person before buying.

I was on the list for a while for an LE. If you didn't have a spot at least a couple of weeks ago, it is basically MO at this point. FOMO has already stopped being an option.
Quoted from Hayfarmer:Secured my le at msrp from Next Level.
What’s MSRP? Did they tell you?

FOMO has nothing to do with it. If it's a theme you want, you're ready, like you were. Same here. Other option is up to a year wait

No true, depends on who your distro is. Someone I know got a text today and secured a spot.

This kind of common sense will get you banned around here.

But we get really excited, and you know that you'll never ever lose cash on a nib LE that you've never played. :/

Seems like a good theme beats a recession and disposible income?
I agree on an earlier post...watch the Godzilla machines come up for sale. Latest and greatest seems to be what everyone wants. The theme is a hit for me for sure, glad it is Sean Connery but the theme would be a win for me no matter what.
Doesn't mean I am instant buy, I can never afford a LE anyway or should I say I would not pay LE prices (maybe on a Premium - always has most of the same LE stuff just not limited #).
The economy and the country just seems to be so unsettled, to comit to $15-20K for an LE is just not where I would be right now even if I had it.
For some reason, I lost interest in James Bond when Daniel Craig took over. He's a good actor, and I wanted to like them, but didn't. The fun parts of James Bond were nonexistent and the franchise became more generic action, than James Bond. Just my humble opinion, as someone who read the books when I was younger and loved all of the previous Bonds. I'd only be interested if the machine plays well and is classic Bond.

Buy! Buy!! BUY!!!
No no no !
Let's wait and see.. Franchi Art ?
Full assets to 3 or four Connery Films ?
Full Themes songs, not clips ?
Amazing fun layout ?
No giant $1000 price increase?
If these criteria are met, could be amazing.
Play it first, love it, then throw money at Gary's Vodka budget.
Quoted from Oneangrymo:Ah so the cat is out of the bag eh?
I like Johnny English slightly better.

$15k-$20k??? For an LE? Wtf? Not even if Daniel Craig came over and set it up.

Quoted from J85M:I’m a huge Bond and I mean huge!
But I need to see the layout, know the coder and see what’s in it physically and code wise before considering one.
It’s probably Sex Timton on code right? Wasn’t he the one working with Ritchie? Unless Gomez just changed the whole team around. I’m more curious who was on art. Seems to be a perfect Franchi game but I hear that train has sailed…

Suck it up!
It’s bond. He’s Gomez. It’s stern. We all know it’s gonna rule !

Plenty of people with plenty of disposable income.
While you are waiting to see the game, LEs will be gone.

Yeah new Bond really does nothing for me.
Not a huge Connery guy but I think a retro Bond look and feel is a great theme idea.
Think he's going further back and re-hashes Playboy.
Some of you may be familiar with the Red Barchetta mod on Rush from Rocket City Pinball:

Just wanted to give a heads up I'll be doing a similar mod for Bond with a similarly sized Aston Martin DB5, including adding the lit headlights. Mounting location / design / scenery is pending game design, of course.

Tell that to original Halloween, LZ and Toy Story buyers
Craig - Casino Royale.
Pierce - Goldeneye.
Dalton - License to Kill
Moore - Live and let Die
Connery - Never Say Never Again

Unfortunately there is no try before you buy option if its an LE model. And they are typically the best packagr and of course holding value.
Quoted from Sako-TRG:Craig - Casino Royale.
Pierce - Goldeneye.
Dalton - License to Kill
Moore - Live and let Die
Connery - Never Say Never Again
Ridiculous !!
Never say never is crap and we all know spy who loved me is the best Moore movie.

Meh. Love the theme…but Stern….not feeling the FOMO at all.
Happy for all of you that wanted it, you have one less individual fighting for one. I like Bond, but not over Rush, I’m happy right where I’m at.
Enjoy the fight, may the odds be ever in your favor......
Quoted from Sako-TRG:Craig - Casino Royale.
Pierce - Goldeneye.
Dalton - License to Kill
Moore - Live and let Die
Connery - Never Say Never Again
I agree with Levi this is not correct. Goldeneye is the worst of all bond films. But he is wrong too.
-
Here are the correct answers:
Craig - Skyfall (No time to die is a very close 2nd. NttD may be the best of all Bond films)
Pierce - Die Another Day - 3 of his 4 are good.
Dalton - License to Kill - Agreed!
Moore - MoonRacker - I am 14 and its a space batte! / Jaws / Great villian lair
Connery - Never Say Never Again - Agreed!
Shaken not stirred! Glad it’s Connery. My favorites were Goldfinger, Diamonds, and then Never. Too many quotes to choose from, I hope they have lots. Excited for this theme so I hope they do it right. Good for Stern.
Odd job = Random task
Quoted from Lethal_Inc:Odd job = Random task
I also give my wife "Odd Jobs and Random tasks" around the house.... Shes short and also tosses shit at me... but at least for now it seems to be those soft hair tie rings & so far....not sharp fedoras that can slice you.
Quoted from Sako-TRG:Craig - Casino Royale.
Pierce - Goldeneye.
Dalton - License to Kill
Moore - Man With the Golden Gun
Connery - From Russia With Love
There, fixed it for ya'. To be fair, when I first saw it in the theater I did like 'Never Say...' as a tidy remake of 'Thunderball'. 'Live and Let Die' is rad, but I just happen to prefer 'Man With the Golden Gun' (and the Fleming book is cool, if way different to the film.) Sir Paul's theme, however, is 100% badass. Right up there with Duran Duran's 'View to a Kill'.
Quoted from CrazyLevi:Ridiculous !!

Isn't never say never just a remake of Thunderball?

too funny. You almost went straight bottoms up the IMDB ratings, but mixed in Skyfall to cover your tracks

Once again no LE for me. I still havent figured out the secret sauce of getting on a distributors LE list. Apparantly buying a bunch of games doesnt do it. So premium it is, again.
Quoted from HighProtein:I'm relieved!
I'm not ready for a new machine for route just yet!
(p.s. I rarely put boomer themes on location)
There's your worst mistake
Quoted from KSP1138:the Goldfinger theme:
I read your post as if Shirley Bassey was singing it .
Pierce is the only Bond for me. This is because the first Bond movie was him and anyone else just doesn't seem right.
Quoted from insight75:Pierce is the only Bond for me. This is because the first Bond movie was him and anyone else just doesn't seem right.
He was perfect for the role. And I grew up with goldeneye as well so I get it. Some of the later ones were meh though.
Quoted from NashtyFunk:Since it's a new Stern, I'm pretty much in no matter what unless it looks like Led Zeppelin.
Perfect statement!!!
Quoted from J85M:At some point people will stop buying, if bond has a great layout I’m a buyer but that’s because it’s Bond, at these current and soon to be prices I’m now out of the NIB game, Bond and BTTF being the only exceptions if the games look good.
Says the guy with empty pockets.
