Stoked to have joined the club recently

Have appreciation for this thread as provided some great insight and ideas,

Thanks all !!!

Could not help myself,
Getting stuck into bringing this Mark Ritchie gem back to former glory !

Will not be high end, but close to original as possible.

Fishies is Awesome !

Are these "splash decals" available anywhere ?

splash (resized).jpgsplash (resized).jpg
#2802 4 years ago

Thanks for the feedback about the decals.

After a year of delay my FT is finally coming together.
I have to replace the clear crossover ramp and thought the decals would be a cool addition.
A new ramp is on the way, unless I can source decals down under I might end up leaving stock.

Some rebuild pics,
Don't laugh at my muddy river bottom, haha, I thought the mahogany lacquer to seal to base was a good idea at the time, lol

After 1 year of stuffing around trying to get cab perfecto, I'm looking forward to powering up this bad boy tomorrow

Can anyone help with part # for this plastic please ? Any suppliers ?

Mine is missing

I think it may be the one that is circled ? I can't make out the number ?

Still seeking part # for missing plastic ?
Anyone see the number there ?

#2850 4 years ago

Awesome, King-pin

Thanks for your efforts

at least I know its a clear plastic that does exist would be cool to find the number so doctor Google could help me track one down.

Interesting to see the double rubbers, I see provision for this on the posts. I wonder if double rubbers were intended all along ?

Perhaps it changes the dynamic of the ball ? as you can see in my pic I only installed single.

Got me thinking though, Cool, Thanks

#2851 4 years ago

Ah, replacing pop skirts aint no fun

Playing around with LED's this arvo,

Finally acquired some micro hardware , ( nuts/bolts for xover ramp switch mounts )

New crossover ramp appears to be out of spec ? and not line up too well
Some MacGyvering required !

Getting closer to machine being playable.

Cool, Thanks

I find the doubles intriguing

Also there is a discrepancy on rubber G

Will edit post pics

Quoted from fiberdude120:

I believe this is it #31-1676-17

That's the one !
Thanks fiberdude120

Well the hunt for replacement does not look promising , can plastics be 3d printed ?

#2860 4 years ago
Quoted from screaminr:

Mine has double rubbers for extra protection
Did you get the dmd or the LCD colour screen

I believe it's a LED, DMD mate.

Trying to get angel eye cast button to light up
scoured thread for wiring
I have launch button working ok
but no combination of L87 wires Red/Grey-Yellow Grey to +/- will make ring light work ?
this is the angel eye I got

#2882 4 years ago
Quoted from john17a:

mate i picked up 1 from jaycar plugged into the 12v wireing that was present

Thanks John and also thanks to mancave for PM with directions.

I was kinda hoping to tie the Angeleye led to flash when it is time to launch the ball

I can only assume that wiring to 12v that the LED will be on all the time

It seems there is a controlled cast light in the lamp matrix L87
I think that's for the games that have the square/lit cast button ?

It would be really cool to get the angel eye to light when ball launch is up.

#2896 4 years ago
Quoted from screaminr:

I got my button today at Jaycar $17 and they had red , green and blue . I went with the blue because the LED strips in my machine are blue and I think they will work nicely together. It looks and feels so nice , I can't stop clicking it . I don't think I'll have any problems fitting it but I have to figure out how to wire it in , as I have no idea about electronics .[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Sit tight mate, I'm gonna figure out how to get controlled light for it,
May require mini AC-DC converter.

I finally got my FT playable today and 100% Zero Defects

Now I will work on all the little extra's to make the game awesome.

Extra lighting, Mirror blades, ROM update, etc.

#2897 4 years ago
Quoted from jjoravec:

Do you have a link to the button?

Search Angel Eye LED switch ebay

Hundreds to choose from all made in China

Seems like they are all 12V DC

Quoted from jjoravec:

Can someone post me a picture of how the playfield hinges are set up? I picked up a Fish Tales and the hinges aren't right so cant pull the playfield all the way out. Mine looks as follows.

Lost a switch row during early testing after complete re-build.
Had to replace U20 on CPU today, So up and running again now.

A few more tweaks and additional goodies to be added, then good to go !

My FT is running L-4 and color DMD appears to be working fine.

Is there any advantage to upgrade to L-5 ?

Home use game with LED's

#2948 4 years ago
Quoted from Inkochnito:

I would advise to goto D6.0
That will fix the Extra Ball text and you have a Led-Ghosting fix.
https://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=861

Thanks D6.0 on order

#2949 4 years ago
Quoted from chalkup8:

Game looks great !
Have you considered a dmd deflector for it ?

Thanks, Yes I think deflector is a must for FT and will be ordering one.
Cheers,

#2950 4 years ago

I was too impatient to figure out controlled cast LED for Angeleye cast switch so I connected it and undercab LED strip to constant 12V together.
Thanks again Mancave post #2903 for easy 12V supply point.

Really enjoying playin FT again, Soooo much fun !!!

I think this one deserves brite mod flipper buttons and mirror blades

Quoted from Lostcause:

Fitted an led ocd board today and much smoother inserts now, just need to work out how to put in the FT file to see if it’s even better.

OCD PCB looks like nice easy install also looks like a great product.
http://ledocd.com/index.html

Controlled lamp Strobing appears to be worse depending on what LED's are being used. I notice that camera will pick up strobing way more than naked eye.
I am happy with my FT with ablaze, looks fine, and I'm fussy.

Now GI is another story , I think OCD PCB is required for stable GI.

Nice work Lostcause, can you post a video at some stage ?

When you say FT file are you talking about D-6 ROM ?

#3007 3 years ago

My start globe was out because when I installed cast angel eye LED/button , I unknowingly removed circuit for start light. It is looped through Yellow/Grey wires at cast button feed. They need to be connected together.

#3008 3 years ago

My FT has been for sale a couple of weeks now
Kinda glad it has not sold
Dialed in so well FT is a ton of fun !

Anyone happen to have a new Fish Tales plastic set they'd be willing to sell? Or a lead on an available set would be appreciated. I've checked the major suppliers and haven't been able to find a set instock. Thanks!

Perhaps reach out to PPS

I believe they might be doing a new run
