Playing around with LED's this arvo,

Finally acquired some micro hardware , ( nuts/bolts for xover ramp switch mounts )

New crossover ramp appears to be out of spec ? and not line up too well
Some MacGyvering required !

Getting closer to machine being playable.

Quoted from RA77:

Awesome, King-pin
Thanks for your efforts
at least I know its a clear plastic that does exist would be cool to find the number so doctor Google could help me track one down.
Interesting to see the double rubbers, I see provision for this on the posts. I wonder if double rubbers were intended all along ?
Perhaps it changes the dynamic of the ball ? as you can see in my pic I only installed single.
Got me thinking though, Cool, Thanks

Posts are factory, manual only shows the size not the amount.

Also there is a discrepancy on rubber G

This game was probably routed before. Operators used to double up on rubbers on slings and other high traffic areas in the event one broke the game was still playable, especially if they didn’t have any rubbers on the truck.

Mine has double rubbers for extra protection
Did you get the dmd or the LCD colour screen

Well the hunt for replacement does not look promising , can plastics be 3d printed ?

Just cut one out of Plexi with a dremel. Ya can't see it at all.

Yes, my Fish Tales came from a tattoo shop in South Australia. I have owned it for 18 years.

Bit hard without the original to copy and if he had an original one he wouldn't need to copy it!

I thought you guys would get a kick out of this even coming up on 4/5 March in New Zealand. Local pinball figure Simon Haxton has organised the Fish Tales Symphony event. There will be a lineup on TEN Fish Tales pinballs!

I wonder if this has happened ever before in public, if only perhaps at an expo when the game launched.

Will post some photos of the event when it happens

Just a quick update on this one. The date and time were not correct - possibly due to the NVRAM as mentioned above as the game is powered off. Reset it and now I’ll keep an Eye on it. It also came up with a right flipper EOS problem. Looked it over and it all works properly so not sure why the test report message? Did find a piece Of one of the plastics broken and was blocking a switch. Now to find that replacement. lol. Never ending. But that’s part of owning pinball machines !

I have a brand new one but is it worth shipping half way around the world for a clear plastic?

Post #651(Pg 14) in this thread shows the button in question that i added to my machine after i had the handle chromed. I don't have the pic on this PC unfortunately. Post #467 (Pg 10) was the original post after i had added the button and another follow up at Post #546 (Pg 11)

Just picked up a Fish Tales today, Anyone know where I could get a new speaker panel for it, mine is all scratched up.

Thanks

They will be using my fishtales as one of them, it's almost like every second pinhead round here has a f.t.

I am not on Facebook but I might know someone who can order one or two up for me!

A world where every other pinhead has a FT is a great world, indeed.

Bought mine off fleabay originally but you should be able to get them at Jaycar or maybe Altronics? The one i got was 19mm diameter from memory (the body of it not the top) and you will need to drill out the area. Or get a tad trickier and use a square of coloured acrylic (think i used 6mm) and add another LED or LED strip to light the area up also. Got both the button and acrylic LED strip hooked up to one of those optional touch pads that have brightness control and flash effects.

Ok , so the button a comes with a light in it but the red is being lit up with a separate LED strip .

Yep, button has an internal LED and i have a 6 LED red strip stuck to the inside round edge (closest part to where it flares out and gets bolted to the cab). I did have to block out some of the light shining through the slight join gap of the two halves ... missed a bit too

It's a lot nicer looking button than some of the big square ones I've seen people use .

Thanks John and also thanks to mancave for PM with directions.

I was kinda hoping to tie the Angeleye led to flash when it is time to launch the ball

I can only assume that wiring to 12v that the LED will be on all the time

It seems there is a controlled cast light in the lamp matrix L87
I think that's for the games that have the square/lit cast button ?

It would be really cool to get the angel eye to light when ball launch is up.

I got my button today at Jaycar $17 and they had red , green and blue . I went with the blue because the LED strips in my machine are blue and I think they will work nicely together. It looks and feels so nice , I can't stop clicking it . I don't think I'll have any problems fitting it but I have to figure out how to wire it in , as I have no idea about electronics .

Any advise appreciated.

Virtuapin has great replacement cabinets, I see he has one for Fish Tales.

I have used a few of their cabinet in the past with great results. (T2, Taxi, WWFRR)

Sit tight mate, I'm gonna figure out how to get controlled light for it,
May require mini AC-DC converter.

I finally got my FT playable today and 100% Zero Defects

Now I will work on all the little extra's to make the game awesome.

Extra lighting, Mirror blades, ROM update, etc.

Search Angel Eye LED switch ebay

Hundreds to choose from all made in China

Seems like they are all 12V DC

Make sure you get a "momentary "switch , not a button switch , the momentary one pops up straight away , " the button " you need to click it down and then click it up .
As RA 77 says there's alot available . This is just the one I got , it has a really nice finish to it and it clicks really nicely as well . I was able to go to a shop nearby and grab one and had the guy there make sure I got the right one , I normally stuff up when I order things on the internet .

I would actually like the light on all the time . If you or anyone else can show us how to wire it , it would be really appreciated . I think this is one of the best mods you can do for fish tails and I think a lot of other people like me who don't know anything about wiring or electronics would like to know how to do it as well .
Great to hear you got your game up and running , mirror blades look really good on this machine .
