Quoted from TheLaw:

I prefer all of those...but of course I am getting older

It’s great I guess that their games are lighter because of those changes but the reason they were made was to save money and generate more profit versus a benefit to the customer.

#202 1 year ago
Quoted from TheLaw:

Heavy=quality!

I'm about to release my upgrade kit for Sterns where you put a bag of sand in the bottom of the cabinet to give the game a bit more weight and a more premium feel. Easily reversible!

Thank God Stern has made their games lighter.

All of the other manufacturers should follow suit.

Taking 40 pounds or so out of their machines is the greatest innovation in the modern history of pinball.

#204 1 year ago
Quoted from Concretehardt:

Seems to me with all the wiring and mechs jammed under that playfield that they’re going to need LTG more than ever over at JJP for additional tech support!

Never happen.

Not having a game I'll be dependent on pictures here to help out if and where I can.

Is the cab art perhaps similar to the godfather 50th poster? hmm

It is nice when it comes to moving the games. Too bad the prices didn’t become lighter because of the cost saving changes, prices went up instead lol.

The switch to node boards has been very will received as well.

Seems legit.

#209 1 year ago

Since they seem to like to do what Stern has already done, I bet it's Sopranos.

#210 1 year ago

If the Godfather machine is produced, I intend to buy two of them. Seriously.

Putting the on / off switch under head was stupid

Quoted from Hammerhead:

Well now we know why there's a parts shortage, they all went here

Underated comment!

Yeah I forgot to include that one. Thats been the most inconvenient and cost saving move Stern has done IMO. “Hey let’s make it difficult to turn on a $7k - $13k+ pinball machine”!

As much as I would kill for this game to be HP it wont be. No chance. Maybe jack is signaling they have the license for the future.

#217 1 year ago

That picture showing the underside has my attention. If JJP returns to old school loaded form with godfather - I’ll be back to the table. No interest in Scooby or FF.

I’m expected to be disappointed but damn it - I hope I’m wrong

Wasn't it moved to head unit to comply with electrical approvals?
Something to do with CE + federal - state-enforced safety standards...

It is a lot under the playfield. I would think Potter would be this packed to bring it to life. Godfather maybe. We will find out soon. Good times in pinball.

Where is the power switch on the CGC remakes? I've never turned one on/off.

I think that’s an excuse from Stern, if it was said, to save money. That would be like automakers being told they can’t have customers turn a vehicle on from inside the vehicle and instead have to go outside and press a button near the starter.

Quoted from squaresville:

Same as Williams pins. Under main cabinet, kind of front right corner area close to the leg.

Best see a finished one. Then it might be thinned out and all tied down. Not even Hobbit is a mess like that.

Hard to believe Godfather could have that much stuff potentially....... but it is Eric. Very interesting, and surprising.

Total lie by them no doubt.
Doesn't bother me terribly because I'm not 5'1 but I'd take it in the OG area fo sho.

How much wire? Gary Stern claimed Stern was down to 1/2 mile of wire per game. This is going the other direction. My guess is 3/4 mile.

This is the real reason Stern doesn’t put the power button back at the front of the cabinet, they can’t cross that 1/2 mile wire threshold.

Is JJP out of zip ties ?

Nope. It was moved because it's CHEAPER and EASIER to get approval away from the user.

#236 1 year ago

Here's hoping they are teasing their new, going forward, form factor. Table top format pins similar to Joust! Boo-Ya!

Good observation! Doesn't look like an "R" for the end of "Godfather". Looks more like a "K", maybe for the "K" at the end of John Wick!

I think this is the front right of the cabinet. But still doesn't match the G in godfather as it is too thin looking. Most of the Harry Potter logos have much more of a jagged letter outline, not rounded.

#242 1 year ago

When you search Godfather font, this is one of the first results. Looks very similar to the JJP announcement text.

Absolutely. Look at the letters a e r t T from the original Godfather logo to the JJP announcement. Without a doubt the announcement uses an identical font. Hoping for Potter, but my forecast says 90% chance of Godfather. Fun to speculate. And who knows, it could turn out to be an awesome theme and at least something different ... anything beats another band pin. No offense to the Foo Fighter fans of course

Funny about Godfather's Pizza ... there is a location in Omaha, NB, with a street address of ... you guessed it: 4501.

The lettering visible looks like the "50" in the anniversary posters.
