Are the ramp returns all the same?

#33 5 years ago

where the ball drops to the inlanes.

#36 5 years ago

I got updated ramp returns. was just wondering if there's variation beyond the tear drop hole change, I have another post at the end that wasn't there in my first rev.

How much for io boards?!?

#80 5 years ago

I saw one guy with blown mosfets, is there a specific flaw in the heighway/pinbro boards?

#84 5 years ago

Heighway swapped the pins on the servo plug (labeled "jaw" in your picture... why would they swap the pinout!?!), if someone remakes those boards I suggest they make that plug work with the standard servo pinout. I blindly plugged a regular servo on there when my original burned out. it will probably blow the voltage regulator if left on as well as not drive the servo.

Quoted from knockerlover:

This means that once we get a run of PCB's that we should be able to load this hex code back onto the new boards, and hopefully successfully duplicate them.

Rad! Nice stuff

Quoted from Astropin:

Really? Sometimes I feel like mine are too hard. More than enough power to make every shot and sometimes it looks like a little too much power.

My ball launch and trough are both way too strong on default. I have my airlock turned up tho.

Did the 3d print file for the xeno gear ever get shared out?

I started posting some info on pinwiki under heighway.. it should be easier than digging it out of the forums here... there's a ton of great info in here.

I'd be interested, what all is different from early run boards?

Quoted from pyramidschemebar:

Sorry if this has already been covered. I was never sure why my Alien doesn't have the screen in the back box. Someone just directed me to a podcast that said the very early ones shipped like this. Is that your understanding? Has anyone added a screen to to one of these?
[quoted image]

Probably the most rare of all the alien types.

I had to short that row of resistors to keep it from locking out the upper right flipper.

Quoted from mavantix:

Thanks kneissl, you didn't need to modify anything else?
... we've done that on two boards and still get the fuse blowing, and our solder job has been DMM tested good. We have have very early production models, so perhaps that is part of the issue, maybe a difference in some other way.
Is everyone's fuse for "Area 2, D11" a 4A fast blow? Maybe our games have different fuses...

fast blow sounds wrong for any coil fuse.
