and happy b-day to you...
We have 2 seasons here.
Hot and not quite as hot.
If I never shovel snow again I would be ok with that.
-Jeff
Shoveling snow is kind of like mowing the lawn in the Spring. The first time for the year is kind of fun. Then it just becomes a chore. I look at it as forced exercise.
Quoted from AlexF:Shoveling snow is kind of like mowing the lawn in the Spring.
It takes me longer to cut the grass(3 hours each week) versus plowing snow ,plus i dont get snow every week.
Gives me a break from the bugs too.
Time to take my mower deck off and put the plow frame on my tractor before the snow hits though, but one final haircut/leaf mulch for the lawn yet. No, i do not rake leaves.

That's cool, didn't know Gottlieb made one of those too.
Wonder what it will eventually sell for?
Challenger is a very unique 2-player game. They only made 110 of them so it's rare. I've played it and to me it's not very fun but to someone that collects rare games and has a lot of space for this monster............... Book value is $2200 right now - a few years back I remember book value was $1500 so it's on the way up as far as prices go.
Not a machine just parts.

Quoted from EM-PINMAN:Be careful with the Retro KOD Chris. The Playfield Overlay has been a problem with that machine.
Ken
I have played one locally and just like Ken said, the playfield overlay was a problem. Puckered up so badly that the ball would get hung up in a couple of the rollover lanes. Very frustrating as you would have to practically tilt the game to release the ball. Also really didnt like the score reels' silence! It really made me want an original instead.

ooooooooo... and it's in new jersey too...
what do you guys think a "reasonable" number on this would be?
Quoted from EM-PINMAN:A 1972 Bally Fireball
And a very nice example. If it goes for under $2000, I will be shocked.
Quoted from ccotenj:what do you guys think a "reasonable" number on this would be?
$2000 for this German model.
Quoted from ccotenj:thanks o-din...
Go get it! I paid 2500 for mine because it was in better shape than any of the American versions that were out there. I have a theory that some of the German ones never made it on the boat, and therefore never on route. Mine sure doesn't look like it has sailed the seven seas.

If you ever get rid of yours you will have to change your username!

Now that might be a little difficult on both fronts.
Quoted from ccotenj:i had $8000 sitting around doing nothing, that would get me the majority of the way to the 4k projector i alluded to earlier... i'd get a heckuva lot more use out of that than another pin...
There's a forum to discuss that kind of stuff.

arrrggghh... you were supposed to tell me, "no, you don't want that one"...
you may be right... i can't imagine every machine that was meant for export actually made it to the dock...

hey rob! welcome to em land...
i'm not allowed over there anymore... it does bad things to my blood pressure...

Do you want one to restore or do you want one to play? I just got tired of looking at my old beat up Fireball, wondering what to do, and now I don't think about that any more.

Chris, if you get it, I'm moving in next door. I'll bring my C-37 with and we can just trade games for a while.
I won't bid you up Chris, but I am gonna bid on it. Not sure how eBay disguises the usernames in the bidding section but if it is first initial***********last initial then mine will look like this d******1

Someone please explain to me how this makes any logical sense? Why do people do this? Honest question. Do people not research what their machines are actually worth before trying to sell them? I just saw a Firepower for $3500. Looked at a Black Pyramid and the guy wanted $2500. What is wrong with this people!?!? WHEN WILL IT END?

realistically, there isn't anywhere to properly research "real" pricing... it's not like with cars, where 15 minutes on the net gives you a rock solid pricing estimate...
I wish this wasn't the case, but it is...

I'm a beginner, so please correct me if I'm wrong here... But what about resources like Mr. Pinball and Boston Pinball? Those at least give us a ballpark figure, yeah?
