Yeah today's comedies are way funnier aren't they?

Quoted from Haymaker:

Yeah today's comedies are way funnier aren't they?

Yeah, they should stop making comedy because they already said everything funny in that famous golden age of comedy, the nineties.

Of course the jokes no longer have relevance because society has moved on, but we can live in the past and the younger generations can smile and nod like they understand surely?

Lecturing eh?
Funny thing to say, and that's funny.
You're fucking funny.

Sorry, and dumb, contextless repetitions of lines from an old movie. Didn't mean to leave anyone out.

This is your last 50 posts.

Why are you letting the fact that this movie exists get under your skin so much?

Like...let it go. Watching you get angrier and angrier over This is Spinal Tap is really something. I've really never seen anything quite like it around here.

You have me quite confused with someone else if you think i am even the tiniest bit annoyed, let alone angry

I don't care if the movie exists, same as I don't care that midget porn exists.

And if you don't see the point i was making with my last 50 posts, you won't see it as i explain it either.

None of this has gotten under my skin in the slightest, i have just been pointing out the other side to the stuff people have been posting.

Repeating lines out of a movie from decades ago is not awesome. Glaciers are awesome. Space travel is awesome.
Hence all the stupid lines out of stupid movies i have been repeating in a totally non awesome manner.

You have definitely put this all into perspective.

It's a start. Those who are not confident or capable of using words to express themselves are often encouraged to use pictures, analogy or fables to express their meanings. Even if only to the themselves, it's still something.

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

I suppose he'd feel much worse if he weren't under such heavy sedation.

Back to personal attacks (even if part of a stupid quote), it's regressive and it's repetitive (as well as being against the rules).

Happy to entertain you as well as cause you great wonder and surprise. You should get in more social situations where not everyone agrees with you, the world really is an AMAZING place.

It has been quite interesting to me to see reaffirmed the frenetic defense to any alternate views on the popular conception too.
I mean, no surprise, for sure, but the vehemence that the school mentality reacts to the dilution of the group consensus is always interesting to watch.

I’m sad to hear that because I typically agree with most of your comments and opinions of particular machines. I think the film is very funny especially because even though it’s a mockumentary of a touring rock and roll/ heavy metal band, many of the gags are based on things that actually happened to real bands. I saw them perform live in 1992 and it was a great show.

Hopefully there will be a machine at the Allentown Pinball Show next Friday. A few years back Thunderbirds was easily the worst new pinball machine that I have ever played. The flippers were so weak the game barely functioned. In almost 30 years of attending Pinball Shows, I have NEVER seen so many players walk up, plunge (1) ball and then simply walk away!

Cheers mate. I got most of the way through the second ball on the spinal tap thing. Not everyone got that far at Pinfest Newcastle. As far as i know though, it was the world release of the machines, and it was 6 months ago, so you would think that all the 'weak flipper' can't make the ramp comment's would have been addressed, even if it was too late to change the layout, screaming ugly art and the fact that the LCD screen was used for nothing else but playing movie clips.

But according to more recent comments, it seems they haven't really addressed the basic flipper issues.

I don't know if they have addressed the backyard welded ramps or not though.

We’re very lucky in this thread in that we have two visionaries, Punkin and Gribbs, they’re like poets, like Shelley and Byron. They’re two distinct types of visionaries, it’s like fire and ice, basically. I feel our role in the thread is to be somewhere in the middle of that, kind of like lukewarm water.

I'm an optimist. (anyone who knows me is calling bullshit on that right now) But I'm still holding out some hope that this machine will exceed expectations.

Dunno about visionaries, let's just say two ends of the spectrum of understanding?

Somewhere in the middle sounds like a good place to be. Wise enough to understand the way and the why of what you feel and think but and not being totally in the dark about your own thoughts and where they come from.
But also not being troubled all the time because you can see how much you don't understand.

Optimist would not be the word i chose, but i wish you (and the Homepin team) luck.

Because we need more pinball in the world.

...but before I do, I will let you in on something you PAINFULLY don't get: you and I have not been arguing at all. I NEVER made a comment about the pinball machine (good or bad) as I haven't played it yet, and I am NOT going to discuss whether a movie is 'funny' or not - much less with someone who hasn't seen it. You couldn't show where you and I were ever discussing ANYTHING...pinball OR movie. I just started throwing Spinal Tap references at you while you spin more and more out of control. You have been 'arguing' with YOURSELF.

Now you are even agreeing to others' Tap references without getting the reference itself. This is all while talking about "not being troubled all the time because you can see how much you don't understand". ...new levels of unawareness, but I know you will keep going. The unhinged ones ALWAYS do..

Wow, i don't know what you see, but spinning out of control? Arguing with myself? or anyone else?

Agreeing with references from the movie?

I don't think any of those statements are true.

Seems you're understanding of what others are saying is even shallower than your understanding of your own thoughts and motivations.

But anyway, now you've not gone when you said you were but didn't, but then said you were going again (see what i mean about self comprehension?), off you go.

I agree with punkin

Game is not very good.
Service is not very good.
Past experience is not very good.
We played the game last year at Newcastle Pinfest Australia.. There were 2 games there, one continually broke down. The owner and techs were there are still could not get the game going properly. Not very good promo or advertising. I would have wheeled it back into the van.

If you buy one, do not say you have not been warned.

I follow my own advice and just stay away.

This is without a doubt the least likely meltdown in recent Pinside history.

I did not see it coming!

And all over the funniest movie of all time!

It’s suppose to inspire joy, not confusion and hatred!

#1289 1 year ago

No meltdown, no confusion and definitely no hatred here buddy.

More stuff you are making up as you go along.

And certainly not over the movie that you call the funniest of all time. I don't give a rat's arse about the movie. For or against. I'm here for the pinball in the pinball forum.

The pinball machine is total shit.

It’s unfortunate that reviews by people who have actually played the machine are identical
to the review of the album Shark Sandwich.

punkin - some things written in response (most in fact) to some of your posts are quotes from the movie... not personal attacks on you.

Watch the movie. Fully develop your hate for the IP but then you can at least appreciate some of these "inside" jokes and see them as teasing versus attacking you personally.

I understand that people are throwing stupid movie quotes around, doesn't mean the content is not directed to me.

I have no desire or intention of watching a movie that doesn't interest me from 30 years ago, so i can understand a half assed reference dialogue about a pinball machine that i'm unlikely to play again let alone own.

Yes, of course, you are the only one who has actually put any thought into your stance.
Anyone you disagree with has just found little pearls and decided to wear them.
