Quoted from pudealee:

Right now, a “Pre-Covid” Cohiba Siglo I, and a bit of Bulleit Barrel strength. I hate to say it, but my love affair between Habanos Cohiba will soon come to an end after my last few remaining Siglos and Secretos are gone.

Ironically, I have always preferred the Dominican over Cuban.

Really creamy and really high maintenance. Getting closer to the peak of the diameter it was hard to tell if it was lit. Wasn’t getting much of a draw and then I could tell I had hot smoke so I’m not sure if I cooked it or if I’m supposed to cook the oils just like an egg. Was hardly getting any smoke on the puffs towards the middle. Decided to throw the towel in early. The first third was pretty awesome. I have one more of these on hand I’ll probably just keep for show and tell.

When I woke up this morning I had a thought. It was sitting on the top of one of my humidors for quite awhile outside the box. I’m wondering if I put the second one in my Cuban humidor and let it sit for a month and drop the humidity. It will burn faster but may not be as much work. I looked on the back of the box and it said it was designed to last two hours. That was embarrassing to see.

Well, I walked out into my warehouse on my way to get my kids from school, and Rush1169 was there talking with my brother. And guess what? That bad mofo had a nice Habanos Hoyo robusto in hand for me. I haven’t cared for Cuban offerings for sometime, but a 12+ year aged classic Hoyo-well that’s a different story. They’re incredibly mild but still have some great floral tones and they smoke/burn exponentially better than a modern Habanos offering. We’re at an RV park/indoor water park this weekend, so hopefully the water slides did their job and the kids pass out before dusk so I can break out the birthday Forrester and Hoyo

Been a long week. Don’t need anything too exciting tonight. I’m not a lancero guy but this one is pretty good….for some easy puffs.

I’m not trying to be “one of those guys”, but I think that’s a 7x48 figurado? Traditionally, Lanceros are 7-7.5x38

Probably. I’m ballparking it

Quoted from EJS:

Lanceros and torpedos seem to not sell well because everyone buys robusto and toro sizes, but small ring gauges and figurados are harder to roll so the best roller in the factory makes them and they tend to be the best in the line. Also, a Lancero or large figurado will require the best of the wrapper leads due to size and shape. What I’m getting at, is if you really like something in a robusto or Churchill size, try the smaller ring gauge or shaped cigar-you so t be disappointed!

#4422 1 year ago

I've always been shy about lancero style because of the lighter and shorter puffs whereas I'm used to more volume per. The thing about cigars is always trying something new so I suppose this should be no exception. PlanetExpress knows how I feel about lancero (we've had that conversation a couple times) especially when mine end up at his doorsteps.

What you are saying Ryan I've heard before by some locals too, you get more wrapper per puff too if that makes sense?

AJ Dorado. I taste Siracha. If you like spicy foods, you’ll love it!

Update: 1/3 of the way through. First ash drop. Either my taste buds are numb or the cigar has changed. Smooth buttery oak.

Funny you posted this…the Roma guys were on the CA podcast on my way to turkey hunt this morning. Birds are winning thus far. There’s a Padron in the truck and hot coffee. It’s cold out here!

Delicious as before

Unfortunately it’s from that sample pack so I knew this would happen before it started. I plan to pick up a 5 pack soon and hopefully the experience will be better.

Two firsts…first time trying the Punch 180th anniversary. First time I’ve seen this happen. Not really sure WTF happened? I did not have a lighter mishap. Wish I could say my thoughts but I don’t think this cigar is a fair sample of the offering.

Just another cigar and tastes like any other cigar? Or it’s crap? I ask because one of my all time favs is a MF and they bought Fonseca and have not changed Fonseca (which is a good thing)

It balances between just about any other cigar and crap. It was quite spicy and overbearing. I didn’t even notice it was a MF until 10 minutes in. Yes a majority of MF are excellent cigars. This one was loosely packed and lasted about 45 minutes.

When you coming to OKC to have a Shark? The best lounge in town is getting a new jukebox in the morning-installed by that fella at everyone knows is the best at juke installs…

Nestor Miranda Madurai. 6x60. I think this would be better in a smaller ring gauge. Smoking amazingly. Good notes that would probably be drastically more robust in a smaller size so it all builds as the wrapper burns.
