If it's a really good cigar you shouldn't feel anything or have much of an aftertaste the next day...
If not Cubans, you can't go wrong with Punch. Ted's Made By Hand is also a great medium smoke. (and, no, it's not me...it's by the guy who owns Makers Mark)
I'll be puffin' on a stogie tonight with the boys! Porterhouse in Montvale, NJ...see yuz there...

Yes, I go to the Paramus JR every now and then...but when you buy online you can save up to 50%. We have a Cigar Club at The Porterhouse in Montvale. (restaraunt/cigar bar..lockers, private room, etc.) When you're in Jersey, let me know and come in as my guest.
I know this has nothing to do with cigars...but I can't get this image out of my head!!
Quoted from northvibe:
so any suggestions for a newbie would be good
You can't go wrong with the following: (also, don't buy a cheap cigar...stick with quality)
Romeo Y Julieta
Avo (for mild)
less expensive good cigars: Torano, Alec Bradley
This is just a short list and you have to decide if you like a mild, medium or full bodied cigar.
Enjoy!---Ted (on the left) Rep from Torano (center) Ray, my financial advisor (right)
Maybe start off with a good quality medium cigar such as Romeo Y Julieta or Arturo Fuente.
Quoted from Skins:
Or, find a shop that keeps track of your purchases and once you like one, they can recommend other brands based on your likes.
Yes, and sometimes when you buy online, they will do the same thing for you. Tell them you like a medium Romeo and they will recc similar cigars...
Just got off a crazy drunkin' evening with Fintan! Got to bed at 4am. Neil is a good buddy of mine as well. Was with him the other day! Defiant is 4 minutes from my house. Porterhouse is 2 minutes away. Lemme know when you're back in town and we'll meet up.
Hmmmm...time for a Christmas smoke!...Can anyone say OpusX?
...and a few gift boxes...
That's IT! They make another one that's HUGE. Good smoke though. Lasted almost 2 hours!
Worked 6 hours on the Cigar Room today and made real progress! Ordering the Rabbit Air Purifier tonight!
Just joshin' ...I'll take pix of the Cigar Room next week after I get more stuff out of it. Flat Screen is in...cable coming next week...
Rabbit is ordered and will get here next week as well...
It's my birthday!!...and I plan to smoke 2 Cubans and an Opus X tomorrow, er, today!
Hi. Hopefully next weekend as I'll probably be snowed in. The Rabbit Air Purifier is here and ready to go. I have a bunch of Outer Limits and Twilight Zone figures I have to move as they have some kind of cloth clothes. I need to clear another shelf to but more books and magazines.
I've already put 5 big plastic containers up in the attic filled with books, magazines and film scripts and paperwork. It's a MUCH bigger job than I thought! (last pic is the storage room where stuff is being moved to)
This was the outside addition Cigar Room we put on. There is also a stone deck fireplace in the back for real "Open Air" smoking....
Met one of the top guys at Torano. Never tried many of their cigars. I had 2 excellent ones. Now I just gotta find out what they were...
Quoted from Konajack:
Torano Exodus 1959 is the best cigar that Carlos Torano makes.
It is a nice cigar that always gets nice ratings and is relatively cheap ~ 7 dollars or less.
Yes, thanks. Their cigars are very good quality for the price.
...and Jack...my friend has an app that keeps track of all the cigars in his humidor with ratings.
Here's what my friend just said when i asked him about the app:
---"Rate my Cigar" but it seems to only be for Droids, which I have. My friends with an iPhone are having a hard time finding anything as good for the IOS. --JB
Dude!...just got back from Cigar Emporium! They did not have Jamie Garcia, but my friend DID say it was a great smoke. I had these though. (That's Jim on the left and Ed on the right) The Jack Daniels Holiday Select was superb!
Cool! Just got back from the Meadowlands Racetrack. The girls got to go down to present for the winning horse. Great VIP Room...cigars outside lounge!
Thanks! Yeah, fun place. On the bottom pic, the racetrack is right to the left...BIG panoramic window. This is a special VIP Room for people there that have horses. Our friends, the guy on the right has 15. (he only won once!)
We get real Cubans from a local guy we've been using for a while. A few of my friends also use a guy that ships and I can get his info if you'd like...
Hung out with the East Coast Toraño Distributor, and I'll tell ya..they make some damn fine cigars! Who knew??
Brian is in the middle. I'm on the left and my financial advisor (Ray) is on the right....
Interesting news...and I'll keep youz all posted. I'm having a meeting and may end up being part owner of a cigar factory in the DR! I tried the product and it's great! More on this soon!
Thanks all. First meeting is this Saturday night at the Porterhouse Club Room! Keep fingers crossed...our bid is in for the company!
Just go into your local Cigar Store. You can either get him a box for $120 or mix it up.
Can't go wrong with Arturo Fuente, Montecristo, Romeo, Partagas. Does he smoke mild, med or full bodied?
Just got back from Cigar Dinner! Alec Bradley was the cigar rep! Fun times. 2;15am...gotta sleep!
Meeting at the Cigar Shack! I had a wonderful Tatuaje! ....AND the new Jack Daniels Fireball!!
...here's a sneak peek at our Cigar Shirt for the April Chiller!
I actually don't wear t shirts! I have them made into button shirts.
Twice a year we get a different shirt. I'll try to find some of the others...
Quoted from sepins:
spfxted identify this cigar by tomorrow morning and I'll ship it to You! Yes we know it's an Opus.
But what do Fuente smokers call it???
If it's what I think it is...I call it XXX, or Triple X. Also known as X3 or Power Ranger.
...now...back to watching Episode 4 of Breaking Bad (4th Season)
Shark would have been my next guess. It did seem a bit big for the XXX...
So, one of those should be the answer...
Still waiting for the second meeting. The tobacco is being shipped from the DR and rolled here in Jersey. About 30 cigars have been given to friends with a question sheet to fill out. At the first meeting we discussed having a new blend cigar ready for the end of April. I was hoping to have some for the Chiller Convention.
We're gonna try to set up something next week. I'll post Breaking News here...
Hard to go wrong with Padron, Arturo Fuente, Ashton, Romeo or Partagas.
If you haven't had one in a while, the Dominican Cohibas are darn good as well...
Yeah, I smoked a Cuban Partagas Solomon...and then stood up after 5 shots of tequila! (I sat right back down!)
My pleasure, Brett! Enjoy! I'm off right now for our Cigar Club Meeting.....AND, I'm not taking the Ipad!!
I'll be back at The Porterhouse for steaks and cigars tomorrow. (Thursday & Saturday)
Just got the new Marquez painting! Had him put myself and Harriet in there. Her proportions are about correct (except the boobs are a bit small)....for me, he took off 50 lbs!
Best Cigar prices.com, CI....anybody EXCEPT Thompson!...they are the worst! Cigar Bid, if you know what you're looking for...
