Ok, ran my first race on iracing in quite some time, advanced MX-5 at Monza, for 20 laps. I may be rusty but I still know that track well. Qualified 18th, finished 13th, which isn’t bad for my first race in almost 2 years. I forgot the advanced MX-5’s are long enough races to need a pit stop. Bit of a scramble configuring that on the fly. I gotta get back into this more. Forgot what a rush it is. Also tiring for an hour long race with the feedback juiced up.

1975 Chevy Monza. I had one just like this one pictured. It had A/C, but manual brakes and manual steering. It was a little big POS. This was the successor to the Vega, and apparently, they had a lot of Vega parts left over. It had the horrible 4 cylinder with an aluminum block and cast iron head, same as the Vega. Overhead valve driven by a rubber belt, instead of a chain. What could go wrong!? [att=6066259,2266015 caption=""]

Ah! Found my digital old box with pictures of former restaurations.. This Chevy Monza 5.0 V8 was my first usa car, bought it at auction,i was in the audience, bidding with my number just like Barrett Jackson (only difference was the garbage cars being sold). Anyway, snatched this for €700 which was cheap as hell for a driving V8.[att=5555954,1935990 caption=""]

I've posted this before but in case you did not see it: My '74 Super Beetle in front of the now gone Bally Pinball Division plant in Bensenville, Illinois. Photo taken in October, 1979 which was less than two months after the plant opened. Link to a pinball news article: http://www.pinballnews.com/news/nib2.html [att=1040969,266272] PurpleTophat; that's a Monza cast quad tipped exhaust. The exhaust outlet area of the body had to be cut away to make it fit. It sounded good.

Nice Bug MrBallyI see the black war strip - was it a special Hi-Po model ? Larger cylinders and pistons installed that brought displacement up to 1835 CC's. Nasty cam that required a higher idle speed coupled with a Monza exhaust made it sound good, too good and too loud!. Also removed the Automatic Stick Shift and put in a four speed manual. Yep, my first car!
