Could be the transistor is blown, or the traces on the board could be melted/damaged.

Quoted from rubberfist:Update: so I removed all the connectors and pulled the i/o driver board and indeed there is a burnt trace coming out of transistor Q5.
Can a trace be repaired or do I need to replace the whole board? If so, any pointers on what could have caused this so that I can prevent a recurrence?
I would guess the most likely cause of trace damage would be the fuse was a higher value than it was supposed to be.
You likely can jumper the burned trace and also likely need a new transistor since the existing transistor is probably shorted.
