Quoted from PinMonk:You can't apply the same principles to Stern Pro/Prem except in a VERY GENERAL sense, because JJP's "base" machine overhead is so much more than Stern. Stern is a whole different ball of wax and expectations are very different.
I would support the statement that JJP machines are more expensive to build. I do suspect JJP is pumping so many resources in the light show, choreography, etc. that they don’t want to sell lower price models with which they don’t get a return on all that. I reckon they calculate higher returns without SEs. Maybe that’s what you mean. I also have the impression the SEs were kind of a flop for JJP - again maybe what you mean with expectations. But why this is, I never really understood. Ok, lots of people buy Stern pros and some try to justify the extra money for the premium even though the extra bom is only a small fraction of the oncost. Go figure.
But still, I am sure I am not the only one who would consider an EJ SE, but probably not enough people. And the price difference between SE and LE had been historically lower than that of Stern peo and pre, but JJP could change that. People would still probably buy more LEs - good for JJP.
So maybe I’m agreeing with you, I’m not sure.
