I got my Topper in the mail yesterday. Got it all hooked up with no problems. I flipped the machine on and noticed my Raven doesnt open up, and my machine started acting a little wonky ( kicking two balls out on startup, Dragula activating up to 5 times in rapid succession, flippers stopped working entirely for a moment.) not sure if this is all due to the topper but it was 100% fine before installation.

Yeah I did all that. I unhook the topper and everything was normal again. Plugged it in again and everything went haywire. Seems like the topper has some sort of issue. I’m going to take it apart and check for any pinched wires otherwise it looks like I’ll have to send it back to Stern for a replacement.

I had all of the same issues and a couple others. Stern is supposed to issue me a call tag to return for another when they are restocked.
Just got UPS Shipping confirmation from Stern that my replacement Topper is on the way. Should have it in hand in a couple days. Just in time because Butch Patrick is doing a personal appearance a few minutes away from me and I’d love to get the topper signed.

Yes, you have to have all the latest updates in order for the topper to work correctly. All of the topper effects were added in version 1.0 of the game code.
Well bad news. I came home and played a couple games and the clock started spinning non stop. I shut the game down and rebooted and as soon as the clock hand advanced the motor kicked on and started spinning non stop again. I really thought all the bugs had been worked out this time but it appears not. I’m very disappointed.
I contacted the distributor (Hemisphere Amusements) who copied me on an email he sent about my issue to several people at Stern. I’m waiting to hear something back. I just played a little tonight and the clock isn’t constantly rotating anymore. I’m not sure what’s up yet but I will be sure to keep things updated here.

AGREED.
Waiting on my second call tag now. This is beyond unacceptable. Usually companies offer incentives for beta testing products. Charging full price for a half baked product and expecting customers to simply deal with the issues is insane.

good to know! ill give that a try tonight. the topper is working just not 100% my issues are:
1. the clock doesnt always change with the hour.
2. when the clock spins it will not stop spinning until the machine is shut down fully.
As far as I can tell its functioning ok aside from those things. my point to Stern was that not all of us have the technical know how like MK6PIN to teardown and identify the problem ourselves. We are paying for a new, working, and finished product , not a $425 DIY project. Ill be super excited once all of this is behind us.
