Just joined the club with a NIB being delivered next Thursday! I always liked this one and missed out when they were still being manufactured. I found a distro that had one and he made me a pretty good deal.

I will be getting this on Thursday. I am sure it will need a code update. I read somewhere that I can't just update to the latest code if it is running one of the first versions. Is this correct or can I just update it without concern?
So I received a NIB WNBJM last week and everything works great! Got the last melon shooter rod available. I was surprised that there was mylar between the pops but not around them, so I carefully cut some out of platters I had so as not to overlap the existing mylar. I did notice an odd thing, though. While going through the settings I saw many technician alerts for switches. Most of these switches are not listed in the manual as being used and the ones that had alerts that are were related to the credit and scoring reels. Can anyone pull up their tech alerts and see if these show up? I am guessing that the Spike system is expecting there to be more switches in use than there are in this game, that's why the alerts.
OK, the tech alerts are back again. After I updated the code, I factory reset the machine and they were gone. They are for switches 46 through 103 along with switches 71 through 128 and I have to go into the diagnostics menu to see them meaning that they don't alert on their own. All except the lowest 4 are not even listed in the manual. This doesn't affect a thing as far as operation of the machine, but I have other Sterns and they don't do this. Stern support is non existent. Can any of you guys check your tech alerts and see if it's only me?

Just check your diagnostics for tech alerts and see if there are any. Someone else responded that they are not important, I agree, but I just want to see if others have them as well. I would be surprised if I am the only one that does.
Excellent, thanks. Another member said that they were never coded out. The Spike platform is made to handle a lot more playfield hardware than Nellie. Play on!
Quoted from dgpinball:Does anyone have a list of what the differences are between the Sweet and Sassy settings are, I was surprised that the online menu doesn't give any info about it? When I first got my game several years ago, I just played it as I received it, but a few months ago I decided to change a few settings, but now I can't seem to get back some scoring features that were there before, any help appreciated!
You can factory reset the thing and start from scratch.
Quoted from Lawnboy:Does not have to be set up on the legs to work. holes are still there. Had it on one without the legs.
I changed the front corner pieces to the ones without the holes.
Quoted from Lawnboy:I did not know you could do that.
The kit is included with the crate.
Quoted from Pinball_Eddie:Not sure, that’s no it sat in a box for a while, so not sure if the elements played a factor as well as the backbox lock was maybe rubbing it as I just bent up the locking arm slightly up and resolved that potential issue.
Agree that it’s not like traditional flaking due to age and incandescent lights as I have had my share of EM’s and Arcade marquess and did the triple thick method to preserve.
Anyway, no worries on my end and figured if someone had a worse one and wanted a slightly better one, I’d offer it as it’s just gonna sit around here.
What do you want for it?
Quoted from Pinball_Eddie:Well it’s time for Nellie to go. As much as I wanted to keep this indefinitely, only so much space and the family voted.
So if anyone is looking or knows someone looking for one, feel free to reach out:

Have a great weekend everyone.
Were all those parts included when you bought the machine originally?
Quoted from Pinball_Eddie:Not the extra plastic set, plastic protectors, PinMonk Fan, warm LED’s, rubber kit, repro manual nor the melon shooter rod.
It just came with the usual legs, crate and wood trim pieces.
I was planning on keeping if you couldn’t tell with all the stuff I added but alas the family voted and they tolerate my crazy hobby.
You can't find another family?
Quoted from Deerlakes6:Still looking for a whoa nellie shooter rod..someone please pm me
Honestly is not hard to make. Take a stock shooter rod, form a dollop of hardening clay, paint and clear coat. That's all it is.
Just try and get a set of those decals from Stern. They have stuff like that all over their plant, but won't sell it.
Quoted from ZoraShinoda:I feel your pain hence why I donated them. My mothra plastic on the backboard of Godzilla had its wing break, I went back and forth with Stern trying to get a replacement, offered to pay for it, it was a pain in the ass. Eventually I just bought a different aftermarket one from pinball life after giving up with stern.
I don't understand why they don't sell all that stuff on their website.
They aren't interested in the parts business. What I don't understand is why they don't send it to distributers to handle.
