Quoted from scruffypinball:Spelling the game title with letters that carry over game to game goes back at least 40 years to silverball mania.
Wild eh
Spell B-L-A-S-T-O-F-F for 13 Ball Multiball
Quoted from twenty84:JJP has offered a ticket dispenser code/game for added cost for many of their games. As I recall this costs more than $600 and doesn't include a topper.
Multimorphic has been doing this for a while to add new games to their system.
I think the JJP thing was also code and other stuff to make it an redemption game + ways to remove skill from it.
Quoted from Flipper_McGavin:This topper is similar to my JJP Wonka topper in quality and features. Multi layered glossy thick plastic, solid metal frame, flashing LED lighting, very good build quality. The difference is mine only cost $300 shipped from JJP. What makes Stern think this worth an additional $300?
Topper node board $300?
Quoted from metallik:Not yet...
In this particular case, I don't consider the goat mode part of the game and don't really give a shit about the topper, it's just another accessory I'll never own.
Keith did well making the new mode something throwaway and not part of the core game. It's highly unlikely any competitive players will be comparing scores achieved with the help of goat frenzy, and it's not something anyone would actually be planning to use in their game strategy. Now, if Stern starts making these DLC-add-on modes part of the main rules, with ability to strategically stack in with other modes for enhanced scoring, that's where I check the fuck out and stop buying any new Sterns full-stop.
If I'm not buying the complete ruleset when I'm buying the game, then I'm not buying the game. Stern is pushing the line but hasn't yet crossed it.
carry over modes are something that are turned off in competitive play / start the same for all players
Quoted from yancy:Not necessarily a full kit, but at least set it up with an IC scanner/node board, then leave a wifi dongle and micro SD card installed to login via home team.
may not need the wifi if hooked up with e-net
